You might get a real... kick out of Anger Foot!

Devolver Digital has been known as the home of the craziest IP's for decades, and... I know this from first-hand experience. One of the first games I ever purchased myself on PC was 2003's Serious Sam: Gold, and it's a beautiful thing to see Devolver still... kickin'. Speaking of kickin', Anger Foot, is the perfect example of the crazy titles the developer continues to serve up with good times in mind. - Blu

Anger Foot features a character that looks like the reincarnation of Swamp Thing + Toxic Avenger.

Hold onto your laces, sneakerheads and FPS fanatics, because "Anger Foot" is about to drop-kick its way into your game library with the subtlety of a size 16 boot to the face! This isn't just a game; it's a caffeine-infused, bass-boosted fever dream that'll have you questioning your life choices and your podiatrist's advice.

Picture this: You're in Shit City (yes, that's really the name, and no, it's not a tourist hotspot) armed with nothing but the world's deadliest feet and a burning desire to redecorate every room with broken doors and bruised bad guys. It's like "Doom" met "Foot Locker" in a dark alley, and their love child was raised by John Wick.

The game promises a "colorful cast of anthropomorphic enemies," which I can only assume means you'll be drop-kicking everything from wise-cracking weasels to pumped-up penguins. And let's not forget the "smoldering trail of shattered doors, broken bones, and crumpled energy drinks" you'll leave in your wake. It's like a frat party met a kung-fu movie, and somehow, you're the janitor.

But wait, there's more! You'll unlock new sneakers as you progress. That's right, folks - forget collecting boring old guns or armor. In "Anger Foot," it's all about that sweet, sweet footwear. I can already imagine the tagline: "Air Jordans? More like Scare Jordans!"

The game boasts "vibrant visuals" and a "bass-thumping soundtrack," promising an "assault on all your senses. Including common sense." Well, jokes on them - I lost my common sense years ago when I decided game journalism was a viable career path.

For $24.99, you too can experience the joy of being "one with the toes" and learning "the secret of the Anger Foot." I haven't been this excited about feet since I accidentally walked into that weird part of the internet.

So, if you've ever wanted to combine your love of sneakers, violence, and questionable city names, "Anger Foot" might just be the game for you. Just remember: in Shit City, you don't wear the shoes - the shoes wear you. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go ice my typing fingers and question my life choices.

Hackers Strike Again: When Will The Game Industry... Strike Back?

The Game Industry is still taking losses due to the relentless attacks from hackers.

In order to mitigate these damages, it might be beneficial for studios to explore alternative approaches when utilizing the internet, especially if internet access is available on all systems. That's a door just waiting for hackers to access time and time again.

One potential solution could be to implement an intranet system or improve it, which would allow them to test unfamiliar software on specific bait systems (although tried and true software should be the route to go if anything). At least by confining potential attacks to bait systems, they can assess and proceed with caution on designated systems that require internet access for downloading and sending necessary information. This is in theory, but it is crucial for the industry to start going... hard in the paint with... preventive measures to ward off attacks. It wouldn't hurt to develop effective traps to catch hackers or even incentivize whistle-blowers. Money talks.

One creative trap I really admired was one created by Devolver Digital for... Serious Sam 3. If you don't remember, let's just say pirates couldn't enjoy illegal copies of the game because a trap was set. Sure you could play it, but you couldn't enjoy it because a relentless unbeatable enemy was after you non-stop. I've mentioned this before, but it comes to mind when this topic pops up. I think some pretty cool ideas could emerge to give hackers a run for their money.

Both Insomniac and Rockstar Games have recently fallen victim to these attacks, and we are hopeful that the implementation of solid technologies and strategies will effectively eliminate any unauthorized access that ultimately affects upcoming projects and developers. Fingers crossed.

E3 2023 Canceled... but does it matter anymore?

E3... E3, if you haven't heard by now, it's canceled... again! Does it matter though?

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) didn't have to let it go this route, they could have... and technically still could do a digital presentation (but they aren't). Did they wait to the point that people are now shrugging off the legendary Superbowl of video game events? I believe so.

Waiting around wasn't going to present them to emerging audiences, and more adults are hanging up their headsets more often because of time constraints (although we're challenging some to just try different games). Those who may have wanted to see them come back, they've begun enjoying other video game presentations.

Is it all on them? Not at all, when you consider major publishers like Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Microsoft, Ubisoft, and Tencent reportedly withdrawing, but... you don't back down if E3 is something you want to happen. You double down, and fill those freaking slots!

Again, E3 could have gone digital this year, and these companies aren't the only ones around (duh of the day), but the ESA has to be willing to stand with Indie and other lesser-known companies. Look at Devolver Digital, I salute them because they aren't just crossing their fingers during the traditional game expo window, they're going in with a middle finger up + all their craziness. The ESA can learn a thing or two from them.

I'm also disappointed because it's another year that opportunities are stripped from those who could've worked the event or done the work to deliver a digital showcase. It also is one less place where other developers and publishers were able to get shine. I don't know what they'll do for the sake of bouncing back, but if it gives the ESA solace... no one that's interested in game expos will just turn away E3.
