Battlerite introduces a new... Champion to the arena? They're buggin'!!!

Meet Pestilus, an arrogant High Priest who controls swarms of insects (ooooo sounds scary).

TomorrowWednesday 14th December, a brand new Battlerite Champion enters the arena. Pestilus aka “Lord of the Swarm” is the head priest of Quna and serves the royal family, but secretly worships an evil deity. His schemes manipulated the king into exiling the crown prince. Pestilus unleashes swarms of insects to infest and cripple his enemies, releasing his innermost darkest desires.

Pestilus is part of tomorrow's massive Winter Update. Patch 0.10 will also include a new ranking system with leagues and divisions, winter/xmas themed weapons, new mounts, new types of chests and the first legendary outfits.

Check out the new champion preview trailer and additional screenshots.

From the source: Nintendo - Super Nintendo World... can I get a WAHOO!!!!?

Can I get a... WTF?!

Nintendo actually hit us up with this news this morning... but we wanted to speak about it when we thought of something to say beyond... "WTF?" because its finally something more concrete. So basically Universal Studios Japan will be the destination for the Super Nintendo World venture... and while some won't be able to get over to Japan, Nintendo & Universal should strongly consider a 3D tour of the place for those that can't. Furthermore, how cool would it be for them to have some sort of sweepstakes to fly a family to Japan to check it out? Now that would be sick. Some of you may wonder why they'd do something like this but... it makes sense, especially if the (obvious) long term venture has the potential to net them crazy money.

Super Nintendo World will still have Universal Studios at the controls because it will be part of the Universal Studios attractions, but... I don't see that being a bad thing because they had to take a route that allowed them to give fans something awesome that can be operated by the pros. Miyamoto has his hands in it also... which is super cool and considering his impact at Nintendo... he should have a damn statue at the park. (I'm just saying.)

If you're salty about Super Nintendo World landing in Japan... you'll be happy to know that it will also hit Orlando & Hollywood which has been mentioned before (but will it be the exact same as Japan's location?... not sure, you know how Japan gets a lot of cool extras at times)!

If you look into our archives (which you might have to go on a hunt in the Nintendo section) we've spoken about this. Specifically about things we'd like to see and one thing I believe would be genius... would be an area where game tournaments can be enjoyed, hosted and possibly even streamed live. Anyway... check out the information from the source below and game on!

I will be going for sure, just... 4 or more years (give or take... in the USA).
Wait... 4+ years? Aww $#*%!

“SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™” is coming to Universal Studios Japan and will be the first such opening in the world*1, featuring globally renowned characters and game worlds from Nintendo. Super Nintendo World is targeted to open in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. While Universal Studios Japan will be the first location to open, Nintendo themed areas are also coming to Orlando and Hollywood as announced by Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts on November 29, 2016.
Super Nintendo World will be comprised of expansive and multilevel environments filled with unprecedented, state-of-the-art rides*2, interactive areas, shops and restaurants, all featuring Nintendo’s most popular characters and games. Development cost at Universal Studios Japan is currently expected to exceed 50 billion Yen. Super Nintendo World will be developed mainly using the park’s current parking area and part of an area designated for future expansion. Katsuhiro Miyamoto, Professor Emeritus of Kansai University estimates that Universal Studios Japan — after opening Super Nintendo World — will bring economic benefits following its opening of approximately 6.2 trillion Yen for the Kansai region, 11.7 trillion Yen for Japan as a whole, and will create approximately 1.1 million jobs in Japan within a decade after opening*3. Universal Studios Japan will introduce the wonder of the world-class, Japan-based entertainment brand of Nintendo not only to Japan but to the world.

Super Nintendo World will feature characters and themes from the “Super Mario” series, which has continued over the years to win the hearts of devoted fans around the world. The attraction area will also feature a variety of other globally popular Nintendo characters. Nintendo characters and the worlds they inhabit will be re-created at the highest level of quality through the strong partnership between Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto, Creative Fellow at Nintendo, and Mark Woodbury, President of Universal Creative, renowned for creative and technical excellence.
