Rush Hour: A TellTale Series?!

Do you remember this gut-punch comedy starring Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker? It is easily one of my favorite film franchises... and considering the various avenues you can take with this martial arts meets comedy duo, it deserves a game series. Not just any... A TellTale Series, I think they'd be able to come up with awesome-packed episodes that deliver a combination of action and funny (so good) that even non-gaming fans of the franchise would want to spectate. Wouldn't be the same without the actual voices of Chris & Jackie... as... Detective's Carter & Inspector Lee though. If this ever becomes a reality... you heard it here first, but justice would be served with the actual actors.

That would probably require a kickstarter to afford the actors, but who knows... maybe they'd be willing to receive shares on the back end instead of everything off the top. Enough of the business chatter though, I just think it would be great to continue the adventures off the big screen... because their approach to solving crime can be applied to scenario after scenario... with plenty to spare (for the next season or more). Just a thought.

What do you think? Is this a game you'd be interested in? - Blu

Yeah this would be dope as hell, but until these games can be made by SDGT, I really don't foresee these ideas being brought to life. I'm glad you're saving all the ones that are true original IPs now. - Luis D. Lucha

This game would have to have the essence and witty pace the franchise is known for. Even the bloopers were better than scenes kept in other movies. Do you think their writers would be able to do that? - Yang

They have been able to deliver with multiple other games... so I don't see why not. It's what they're known for... and the studio's name is quite accurate for what they do. Adding comedy wouldn't be a stretch in my opinion. - Blu

True, but would it be on the level of what Rush Hour is known for? - Yang

I don't think it would have to mirror it to that degree, it would be TellTale's translation... which they've delivered well on in other games (is what i'm saying). - Blu

Understood. I'd play it just to see how they make it work. - Yang

lol That's what I was going to say. I would play it to play it... but I would be playing it to see if its really like Rush Hour. - RkRk

You know how that goes... it would still be different since games and movies aren't the same, but TellTale comes close since they keep you on rails in the right way... that let you jump from one track to the next. Speaking of movie related games, they did make Back To The Future... so keep that in mind. (By the time this posts... TellTale Games will have a link.) - Blu

The Walking Dead - A New Frontier's... Episode Four is here!

Critically-Acclaimed
'The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier'
Continues with Episode Four: 'Thicker Than Water'
today!

The wait is over... so prepare your nerves because its time to jump into another episode. You may be like me... going into each episode concerned that one of my favorite characters may not see the next. Someone by the name of Jason, was extremely pissed off about something that I can't mention (in a prior episode)... because its a spoiler. I wasn't happy either (not one bit) but that's the world of The Walking Dead. Rejoice in the fact that some outcomes can be changed at least.

Even though some things suck, the overall adventure is one heck of a ride... and is one of the reasons why it's so good. Check out the trailer below and... game on!

By the way... Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy: A TellTale Series is also out now!

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier... going retail, Feb 28th!

Ummm... this is okay, and I hate to be that guy... but I have to be. (Hear me out!) We have the retail version of the newest installment of a franchise that I have become highly fond of headed our way, and its great to be able to jump in... but not completely in the way its going to be delivered here. Its a physical disc, but you will still have to download the episodes beyond the two-part premiere (that's included)... as you wait for the rest to come along (like the upcoming Episode 3: Above the Law... dropping next month).

The reason why I say its okay... is because they are presenting it as a season pass disc. So you can go get a physical disc that acts as a key. There are plenty of gamers that enjoy physical copies of games (myself included)... but if I were able to choose between a season pass disc and a retail copy that I had to wait for after all the episodes are released... to include them all, then i'd take all so I can just flow from beginning to end with no downloading required. I'd be willing to pre-order that, so while this is okay... maybe they can consider a complete disc the next go round.

Look forward to this physical retail option... Feb. 28th in the US & March 3rd in EU!

Check out the trailer for the retail release (two cheers for Clementine)!

I still want to enjoy the world of The Walking Dead in VR... and I think TellTale can deliver that in a special way if they really wanted to. I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but they'd have to approach me.

Poker Night 2... reviewed!

http://amzn.to/1Kh9Bta

This game is great for… a non-multiplayer Poker experience.
Poker Night 2 delivers a… (hmmm) neat NPC experience for poker fans, people simply learning how to play (for whatever reason), or seeking DLC for other games.
You get to enjoy the company of Borderland’s Claptrap, Sam (& Max) from… Sam & Max, Brock Samson from The Venture Bros, and… Ash Williams from Army of Darkness as fellow players (without overlooking the dealer, aka GlaDOS the robot from Portal).
You get to earn different chip, card, and table designs… in addition to the DLC for Borderlands 2 and Team Fortress 2, which help stand out in those games (so if you don’t like looking like the standard characters in the game, you have more options thanks to this game).
Poker is poker, there isn’t much to explain beyond what the game already lays out in the “How to Play”, but I really like the way the NPC’s interact according to the hands played and stories discussed (they aren’t just sitting there lifeless during games, their personalities are on the table just as much as the cards and chips).
The bounties add another element that can be appreciated also, and you get various objectives that include winning showdowns between multiple players, and so forth. So you aren't just playing standard poker (even though you're playing poker)... because it then becomes objective based poker that goes beyond winning hands (if you wish to play that game. Get it? Okay, now that I've added some cheese to this review... I'll get back to it).
Speaking of winning, I won’t even tell you what this means, but when you “unlock” and select 3 of a kind… something will happen.
Overall, for the price of $4.99… it’s pretty good because you have this chill poker experience for the days (or nights) you want to just kick back and play something that doesn’t require fast reactions, and if you have Borderlands 2 and/or Team Fortress 2... the DLC is good reason alone to give this game a shot if you're cool with a stand-alone poker experience. This game has been out for a while, and of course I have a few concepts that come to mind with this game that would be great for updates or… a new Poker Night 3.
Since were no strangers to contacting game developers… this too shall pass. :p
Overall the game does what it does… well, visually nothing is expected (from me with a poker game), but… they made it happen anyway (because it is a poker game that lacks the multiplayer experience). This is in addition to the comedy, and actually taking the time to explain what poker actually is because… it makes sense to actually be able to play the game if you’re trying to enjoy it (I think it’s a great tool to teach future pros how to play… in a way that’s not drop dead boring).
