Nintendo NX + From the Source + Microsoft 10 updates WILL sabotage Steam?

The image you see here is a pretty good looking... concept, but it isn't the actual console or controller (though i'd want dual analogs and all that good stuff). I wish Nintendo were delivering something a bit more traditional, because the core adult gamers are the ones purchasing games more often... for the most part. I say that to say there are a lot of people who just prefer an even better... traditional experience (hence the major support for PS4), but if Nintendo can deliver the system in a way that gives access to core games... plus Nintendo's headliners, then kudos.

They can take it either way, but they have to remember what happened with the Wii U. The price point was not the problem, it was the product delivered at that price point. Hearing that the NX dev kits use the Tegra X1 chip similar to the Nvidia Shield makes me think that it has to be streaming. We definitely look forward to seeing what Nintendo will bring here and we'd expect the system to come in around $199.99 to open a few more wallets... but they have to have the right stuff.

They may be able to obtain more 3rd party titles this route if they are streamed, but we have to wait and see. Will there be a huge surge in sales? Who knows, but I think seeing the hardware would help with the determination of confidence when it comes to the decision of giving the system a whirl. I believe this decision is likely easier based on the eShop purchases vs retail if they go that way.

From the source action:
Make Kamurocho Yours as Yakuza 0 Will Hit the Streets on January 24
Pre-Orders Are Now Available in the Americas and Europe!

It's time to put on your best white suit and glitter like gold, because Yakuza 0 will be available in the Americas and Europe on January 24, and pre-orders for the origin story to SEGA's long running gangster series begin today. Yakuza 0 will be released physically and digitally for $59.99 in the west (yes, that means physical copies for Europe too) for the PlayStation 4 system. (Reminder, even though it was released on PS3 as well in Japan, the game will come to the west ONLY on PlayStation 4.)

Although 1980s Japan appears to be a colorful wonderland on the surface, the bright lights and flashy clothes can only cover so much of the seedy Japanese underworld. It takes money, power, and respect to keep this alluring illusion running, and it just so happens that Yakuza 0's two gangster protagonists are hungry for it all. Players will follow the genesis of Kazuma Kiryu, the rising Dragon of Dojima, and Goro Majima, before he's known as the Mad Dog of Shimano, as they pursue the almighty Yen. The Japanese thug life isn't all disco halls and phone clubs, because Kiryu and Majima will need to pass hellish trials and tribulations in order to be considered honorable Yakuza.

Microsoft plans to negatively impact Steam? According to Tim Sweeney, yes!

You know... I did not feel right about updating to Windows 10. One system in the office has it and... that's probably how it's going to stay, why? Something that I was concerned about was brought up by Epic Games co-founder. Supposedly Windows 10 updates will eventually sabotage... Steam.

Tim says that Steam's storefront is one of Microsoft's first targets, and I can't say that it surprises me. Look at what happened with the Xbox One (and the temperature is going up as I type). If its one thing that I cannot stand... is that under handed force fed garbage that strips away options. WTF is that?

You know why I believe this? Well, think about it... Windows is a Microsoft OS, they were probably looking at the console market and realized that at this time PS4 is on fire and they need another way to make money so why not take advantage of their OS? It makes sense because it belongs to Microsoft, but PC is different... what's a personal computer that doesn't exactly feel... "Personal"?

Doing something like that will hopefully increase the OS competition bringing birth to comparable options and may it burn Microsoft the way they were burned with Xbox One so that they fly... fair for the customers. If its like that, why didn't they create a game maker out of Project Spark that allowed it to be an actual software to develop, publish and sell games? Even if its just on Xbox One & Windows 10 to increase the exclusivity, that would make more sense than burning gamers (pretty much) to burn a competitor in order to turn Windows 10 into a money machine.

That may appear to get the Windows 10 a win but it may be temporary... followed by a crash. Think about it seriously, how many people will jump back to Windows 7 or stick to it until the day its just that... obsolete if problems prevent them from making the most of the OS? How many people would just stop using Windows because they just don't want to deal with Microsoft... opting for something else because it gives them the functions they need to get by (even if limited because they just use their phone primarily)?

I know several people who own consoles and game solely on consoles (most have a PS4) that specifically asked me about Chromebook options because PC isn't really something they use and have downsized (unlike myself).

I don't want to go in another direction with this, I just want to mention that... any intentions to sabotage are not going to help Windows 10 (in my opinion), especially when someone may have considered PC gaming... but hearing that the forecast looks bad (they may not even try or go for a Steam Machine or something). This is just a super face palm in the face of gamers and it sucks... and I hope its all just a big misunderstanding (even if that's a lie on their part that appears true because they scrapped a disastrous idea to maintain the public faith they do have). Don't do it Microsoft!

Hitman: Elusive Target... Gary Busey (Eliminated)

This was a pretty interesting target even if I would've preferred an even greater dial up on the complexity.

They threw in a splash of comedy for good measure as I came across actor Gary Cole dissing in-game co-star Busey.

Following Cole led me to Busey a little too easily, but taking Busey out was a different story. He keeps moving... so I acted fast to capitalize on a moment that would have gone... POOF in seconds.

So I took him out thinking I was 100% home free when it comes to the rooftop where I took the shot. So I go back inside and hide the rifle in the trash (right)... and then I went towards the door and used the instinct view. (DUDE) There were around 7 to 9 armed security running up the stairs to the safe house apartment/flat.

I was like... "oh snap (!)" and ran into the kitchen to hide. They ran out to where I initially was, while one stood near the doorway of the kitchen. It was a sticky situation... and I was wondering if I'd be able to make it out of there either fighting, shooting and/or just trying to run.

I thought they were just going to leave, but the ones on the deck turned around and made their way to the kitchen. OMG... talk about the panic, but what I had completely forgot was... I wasn't seen committing a crime, and... I changed my clothing to a guards attire. So when they came in I tried to slide by before anything went to hell... but it didn't. One of the guards told me to... be on the lookout. What a relief, I did what I could to make it downstairs and then into a car down the street to wrap things up.

While this mission could've ended in failure... it didn't,  and it was awesome to experience that situation that brought more strategy into play in. If I didn't change clothing, I would've likely been taken out. Game on! -Blu

Nintendo NES Classic Edition is cool... BUT this is what would've been cooler!

If you've been doing a little less media this summer... you may have missed Nintendo NES Mini announcement.
They're giving gamers a blast to the past based on interest... and at $59.99... let's just say we see it doing well for those that don't do ROM via PC, those seeking nostalgia via a classic NES look... will tap in as well as collectors and new schoolers who want a taste of what they may have missed out on either because they couldn't find the games for the NES they got their hands on via purchase or something their parents handed down to them and... even those who were just not allowed to game as a kid (poor soul).
Nintendo is taking the smart approach releasing this during the holiday season... and even if we don't think this would've surfaced if the Wii U sold more units... it's not the worse decision. They are just going back... which we feel is due to the current challenges... and they want to be financially prepared for the pending Nintendo NX.
Again, I wouldn't thumb this down, but what I will say is that there could've been more done with this to make it WAY better.
A Super Nintendo RES... should've been the route taken (in my opinion). Why? Because... a Super Nintendo Retro Entertainment System... could've opened the doors to an even bigger audience.

We're not on Nintendo's payroll, but... if we were... (and we were some of the decision makers) a Super Nintendo RES would've been born... with:

The ability to play pre-installed SNES games (in addition to the listed NES games... seen below) because there are fantastic SNES titles that should've (like... seriously) been a part of this line up.

In addition to the retro games built into the device, there would've been cartridges with other game collections via SD cards or something even if they (the SD cards) were housed in a retro'ish cartridge.

The system can connect to your TV through HDMI which is cool, but... there should also be internet capability so that players could compete via scoreboards, as well a connection to the Virtual Console.

The SNRES would've also had something else... (wait for it)... hmmm... we would've made the system also capable of playing certain new school games also that were made for the sake of giving gamers a Retro'ish adventure. Then that would've also created an opportunity for more developers and opened that lane even further for the developers that love to develop these types of games.

What do you think about our concept? (Sound off in the comments below.)

The NES Classic Edition launches on Nov. 11th, and of course is a mini version of the NES (except with the inability to use cartridges and the old controllers and the NES Zapper), that's HDTV ready (sounds funny saying that... NOW but its giving you the option to play them on your HDTV or whatever you have that connects an HDMI cable to display things).

The console comes with an NES Classic Controller... which definitely gets a thumbs up for looking the part and... if you take a good look at the controller ports, they look like those of the current system (and the Wii)... which was smart because they allow you to use your Classic Controller (Pro) as well. If you don't have one... but want to have 2 player capability (on the games that allow such), the additional controllers are only $9.99 each. So basically its just another $10 because... it doesn't have some of the awesome 4 player co-op games like World Cup Soccer. #WTF

If you want to use the NES Classic Controller on your Virtual Console Games... its not rocket science, you just connect it to the Wiimote and there ya go!

The Regginator (Nintendo of America's COO) said "We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo's original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place..."

I can totally respect that and i'm not coming down on Reggie for saying it, BUT... (and there are multiple gamers who agree with me on this) no one needs to be reminded of why they feel in love with Nintendo... in the past... because some people are looking for a reason (when it comes to Nintendo's pending hardware... the "Nintendo NX") to fall in love again (in the future).

Why did people fall in love with NES & SNES? It wasn't JUST because of the 1st party games, which have held up well... it was also because of the 3rd party support (which some of the games are available on this system), it was some kick a** 3rd party action going on there... so the reminder is cool (2 cheers for nostalgia) but there are gamers who want to feel that moving forward. Not in the retro sense.

The next Elusive Target in HITMAN is... WHO?! WTF?!

Sooo, yeah... we were in this office yesterday and Square-Enix hit us up with some crazy news. There is going to be a Wildcard target dropping on July 21st for HITMAN (voted on by the fans) and... I was clued in yesterday when Blu told me that the next Elusive Target is Gary (freaking) Busey. First I was like... "You're joking right?", and he was like "Not at all", which made me think of why in the frack would someone want to be a target to be taken out in a game? But... it's a game... + he's an actor, so being killed on film is nothing new to him (of course not really being killed, but... you know what I mean). Even if I don't take on Gary, I will be spectating. By the way, he was picked over Gary Cole.

I think this... should be an extremely difficult mission, a kill or be killed scenario would be different. Anyway... time for Tex-Mex, check out the additional information below and... Game oN!

Also, today you have access to the summer missions with details directly... from the source:

The IconWhen the town of Sapienza is taken over by a film crew shooting a new sci-fi blockbuster. Agent 47 must aim to retire one of the cast members during a climactic scene being staged late at night in the town square.

A House Built on SandSet at the frenetic night markets in Marrakesh, a mole for a major construction company is about to sell secrets to their largest rivals. Agent 47 is tasked with making sure the leak stops there.

HITMAN: Down goes the Twin

It took me a little while because I went around looking for these guys, got caught on camera then went in search of the recording device to get rid of evidence.

Made my way to a colorful apartment where I knocked out someone and swapped out my Italian threads for his Bohemian ones... and then continued my search after making it to the safe house for my silenced sniper rifle and secured the apartment upstairs also. Almost got caught by the bodyguards of the twins as I walked out of the apartment building w/ no idea that they were approach (talk about a "Close One"). I literally tapped the run to get a small gallop to avoid suspicion from them and the guards at the gate on the side of the street I was on.

So anyway... I watched them walk and make their way from a shop and over to a seating area, so I ran upstairs and grabbed the sniper rifle (because I couldn't just walk around w/ that thing). After grabbing that, I went up to the apartment I secured previously and used the scope to find them. I wasn't on the balcony, I stood by a sink or stove and took aim from inside to remain out of sight and then saw what I needed to see before a successful head shot was delivered.

The target went down on one side of the town and the apartment gave me access from the rooftops to make it out the back way which was nearly effortless.

What you see is a pic of my successful elusive target mission of... The Twin. I think this was quite enjoyable, and doing what was necessary to make the right kill... was part of the fun.

Anyway, this is Blu... feel free to give this post a +1 if you like my breakdown of my mission... and for more Game News, Reviews and Stuff like this... you're in the right place. Game on!

Content on content on content? Yep... just in time for Friday!

Game after game is cool... let's just hope Square-Enix is moving at a... successful pace.

Square-Enix is going hard... and believe me when I say that we like what we're seeing, but as you see in the title image above... they may be pumping out content a little too fast (read on and i'll explain). Mobius Final Fantasy looks awesome and i'm glad that it has a different feel than Final Fantasy Exvius... because (the variety is a great thing but) we need time before a similar type of game gets released. Variety will cater to various gamers based on preference, but if they seek a maximum number of players for a release over a certain period of time... they should give it space on the runway to fly high (before another is approved for take off). I am not mad at this game's August 3rd (2016) release... and as long as they space things out (especially regarding genres), we are able to fully enjoy and appreciate a title versus rushing through it and skim playing instead of taking it all in.

Why would we care if Square-Enix moves at a successful pace? I'll put it like this... (hmmm) If they are stable and doing well then the company is fine and remains afloat. I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon, but with the right pace... droughts are hard to come by in terms of game releases. Some of you may have wondered why we've been delivering dose after dose of Square-Enix news... but that's because they've been sending us a lot of it. Anyway, check out the trailer below, and even if pace on releases is a good thing... I want this game... NOW.

In MOBIUS Final Fantasy... (created by the team known for FFVII & the pending remake) you take on the role of a dude who wakes up in a place called... Palamecia w/ no memory of his past and... in Square-Enix fashion he is tasked with bringing hope to the world by figuring out the mysterious prophecy surrounding the legendary warrior of light. It's a free-to-play game that fellow gamers in Japan have had the honor of enjoying in 2015 and now its our turn to indulge (soon). By the way... if you preregister for it (which costs NOTHING)... you will receive FFX themed items at launch. See the link below!

So what's been going on at SDGT Ent? Good question!

Blu is getting back to 100% while playing a good amount of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius in his down time and I've been playing some Rocket League.

Excuse the language, but... Scoring for the other team?!

Rocket League... Rocket League, these are things that sort of annoy me about the game... outside of missing the ball myself at times (ahhhh). I know its usually placement into matches where someone has bailed out, but have you ever tried to join a fresh game and you can't seem to get into one because you keep getting placed into these matches where your team is already being completely owned? There should be a box that we can select to "Join New Matches Only"... just like in Mario Kart, you aren't just dropped in a match (you are on standby until it ends). Granted that game is a bit different and drop ins keep the match flowing, but... at least the option of going in at the start of a new match will give the option of going that route so that you aren't joining a loosing battle (already in progress.

Also, I have no problem with noobs (everyone is a noob when they begin a new game...) but playing on a team with a noob or just a saboteur who is blocking shots of teammates and scoring for the opposite team... all the while replying "Sorry!"... #OMG that is incredibly annoying.

Rocket League Tip: Playing matches with bots is best until one knows which goal to make it into.

Outside of in-game action, a Steam Link unboxing video and review of the hardware are coming soon... among several game reviews (and with many more to come after those) and of course... the 2nd DLC adventure will be reviewed for Just Cause 3 as well.

Before I go on to discuss Pokemon Go shenanigans... I just want to fill in all of the Agents here. A new elusive target has appeared on the radar, but... you won't have it as easy as before (even if those weren't 100% easy), because this time you will have to determine which target is the actual target. I'm not talking about strangers here, i'm talking about identical twins. What's the big deal? You can only kill one, and it has to be the right one (not to confuse that with one of them standing on the right) which is Dylan.

Potential Tip: I wonder if there will be a slight difference to determine which is which, but we will have to get close enough to hear the right thing... in my opinion, in order to figure it out. That's the only approach I see that can actually shine light on a solution, perhaps one of them will call the other by name, or someone gives away Dylan's position.

Pokemon GO: For Broke Edition?

To all the excited Pokemon GO trainers out there... both young and old, do yourself a huge favor and don't get caught up in the game to the point that you're driving with your eyes locked on the phone to see whether you're close enough to the next capture. Furthermore, watch where you're walking and even consider (strongly) where you're going to catch Pokemon because a game isn't as important as your life. The game doesn't know where you shouldn't go and put yourself in harms way and multiple people have been robbed already, like... (i'm not saying it was deserved but) seriously?!

It doesn't matter where you are, if you're so distracted that criminals can get the drop on you... (ummm) that's a bad thing. That's not to say that its a bad game... because they've captured the interest of a lot of people who aren't familiar with Pokemon at all... and these are adults. Based on the info provided to us by Rachel of N6A (thanks Rach'), shows a study down with nearly 2000 adults who give props to the app with 70% of them being happy that its helping them become more active. We usually don't like getting into numbers and stuff like that, so we won't be getting into the rest of the data... but we think its cool because no matter how you slice it, someone is being introduced to a game (which could be one of very few in their life) that is allowing them to enjoy something they probably thought was for kids or simply beyond their age group.
That deserves a ka-Ka-KA BOOM!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have pizza and cupcakes calling my name! Not literally or... i'd jump out an office window, but... you know what I mean. We're going to the store because ice cream just makes total sense (singing: "We're going on a trip... to get something yummy... pizza and cupcakes with some ice cream for our tummies!"). Game on!

I don't know about you, but the upcoming elusive target mission... excites me. You're pushed to be more than just a wolf waiting in the bush ready to strike, more research is required to make the mission a success. May sound tedious, but if you're a fan of HITMAN... and you're really good at making it do what it do... then the increased challenge is a plus. So get ready and game on! (BOOM!)

From the Source: Xbox... Halo, Halo, Halo!

Big Boss isn't feeling the best at the moment, but we are wishing him well and look forward to his return. Outside of vacations being in order... he wants the news to continue rolling out for the true supporters of SDGT Ent. So, it's time to roll more out.

Halo and Rooster Teeth – a match worthy of the Great Journey! Last weekend at RTX 2016 in Austin, TX, 343 Industries hosted a panel diving deep into the massive Halo universe, revealing new information including Halo Wars 2 multiplayer beta stats, a first look at Halo 5: Forge on Windows 10, Content Browser for Halo 5: Guardians, a look at the exclusive Halo figure from the Halo Legendary Crate, details on Fireteam Apollo, and more.

Halo Wars 2 Beta Stats and Blisterback Preview
Announced on stage at E3 2016, the Halo Wars 2 Beta ran from June 13 to June 22 and featured two game modes, Domination and Deathmatch. The Halo Wars 2 Beta was a true developer beta, releasing eight months before launch on February 21, 2017, giving 343 Industries and Creative Assembly the chance to listen to player feedback and make changes in time for launch.

As seen in the infographic above, players put in work during the open beta and racked up more than 1.2 million hours of gameplay. Our favorite stat is how expensive it costs to keep UNSC troops and vehicles healthy – $831 trillion! Also very cool is the win percentage between the UNSC and Banished, with the latter just barely coming out on top. Commander Cutter will definitely have his work cut out for him next February.

343 Industries also previewed one of the seven brand new units to Halo Wars 2: the Blisterback. Clad in the distinct red armor of the Banished, the Blisterback is a heavy-artillery, long-range Brute vehicle designed for precise elimination of enemy factions.

Thanks to everyone who jumped in to the open beta on Xbox One and for those of you on PC, fret not; a second multiplayer beta will run closer to launch on both Xbox One and Windows 10!

First Look at Halo 5: Forge on Windows 10 and Content Browser
Ever since Forge was released in Halo 5: Guardians, players have found countless ways to create amazingcreative and wacky ways to utilize the powerful map-creating tool. So far, the community has grown to over 16.5 million players, who have spent more than 272 years in Forge and built nearly 330,000 maps!

In May, 343 Industries announced Forge is coming to Windows 10 and at RTX today, attendees and viewers got to see their first look at what it’s like to create maps using the precision of a mouse and keyboard! In Halo 5: Forge on Windows 10, players will have a redesigned interface specifically made for Windows 10 and interchangeable support between an Xbox One controller or a mouse and keyboard.

Of course, creating maps is only one part of the user-generated content experience in Halo 5: Guardians. The ability to easily find and share your maps with friends is very important, and 343 Industries finally lifted the covers on one of the most requested features in Halo 5: Guardians – the Content Browser! The Content Browser is available on both Xbox One and Windows 10, and enables easy sharing and searching of custom maps, game modes and Forge Object Groups.

A Retrospective on Red vs. Blue and New Look at Season 14
Fans of the short-series Red vs. Blue, take notice! Burnie Burns took the mic to discuss Season 14 of the show and talk about how far the series has come. Burns also showed a clip from Season 14 and shared details on Grifball and Forge Machinima that you definitely won’t want to miss.

Sneak Peek at the Halo Legendary Crate
343 Industries shared new details and items in the first Halo Legendary Crate, “SPARTAN-IV INITIATION,” which is currently available for preorder. As previously mentioned, crates are shipped every two months with the first coming out in August. Each Halo Legendary Crate contains a figurine from the Halo Legendary Figure Collection, and fans got to see the first figure at RTX!

Anyone who orders the Halo Legendary Crate and links their Microsoft account will become a member of Fireteam Apollo, a brand new superfan program steeped in Halo lore. Members of Fireteam Apollo will receive an exclusive in-game emblem, exclusive REQ packs for Halo 5: Guardians, and access to new stories told digitally and through in-crate items. Year-long subscribers will receive a “Legendary” pin.

Halo 5: Guardians – Bigger and Better than Ever
Since Halo 5: Guardians launched back in October, 343 Industries has continuously updated the game each month with new game modes, maps, armors, weapon skins and more customization options. Warzone Firefight, the eighth and largest content release to date, recently arrived in Halo 5: Guardians and at RTX, 343 Industries spoke about the past, present and future of Halo 5: Guardians’ sustain content and what it means for the franchise moving forward.

It’s never been a better time to be a Halo fan, with Halo Wars 2 on the horizon, new future content releases for Halo 5: Guardians, the expanding world of Forge, and amazing collectibles coming through the Halo Legendary Crate! Stay tuned for more!

Even though the videos below are a bit of a Meh, they are additional ways to get even more out of your Halo experience. I think Halo would be even more at home if they gave you an experience from the standard 1st person view but with the ability to travel like you do in Mass Effect games. I know its story driven... but Mass Effect has a great story and the ability to go where you want for the most part. +Microsoft

Looking back: I may be one of a few, but Halo 4 felt like a bit of a blur. Halo 3 was much more memorable, even if I enjoyed Halo 4, I honestly don't remember much of what I enjoyed about it. I do want to enjoy Halo 5's story one day soon.
