Super Dungeon Bros + Canceled Games + Kick ass new title

Have a Windows 10 device? Check out the Windows Store and get... Super Dungeon Bros, free. Grab it by September 1, 2017... before the price tag goes back up. - RkRk

Have you noticed the shift to variety? Didn't we mention this awhile ago? Instead of gamers being burned out on gaming... based on one game or game genre, we suggested a change of pace and it has paid off by allowing other games (beyond the major focus on FPS at the time) to get more love. That's a beautiful thing. Speaking of free games, the Xbox classic... Phantom Dust is also available free on Windows 10 & Xbox One. - Blu

Wasn't there going to be a remake? - Luis D. Lucha

Yes... it was canceled. - RkRk

Scalebound got canned too. Makes me wonder if all the exclusives shown at E3 will even make it to the console. - Luis D. Lucha

That's why PC is getting more interest. You have less concern about a return on investment... there are a slew of games new and old (at least some) that have communities. Affordable games... and less concern about what will be released for PC, that concern is usually reserved for minimum requirements. - Blu

Yeah... drum roll! - RkRk

Certain games are a nice surprise when released on a system... but some gamers are saying... "Whatever" (now). PC gives a sure win place to game whether or not you have the latest console, and is still the recommended platform here because students and adults alike... can get more than gaming done on it (i.e. work/school related tasks). - Blu

Wait, how did we get to preference in console? - Luis D. Lucha

It's not really a preference thing, look at what I'm saying about... why we concur when it comes to PC. It ties into the mention of the canceled games. Games get canceled that don't see the light of day on PC either but considering the gaming options and versatility of the platform... it doesn't end in a disappointing investment. Consoles are usually bought for games, PC's are... PCs and gaming is one of the things you can do on them without worrying about money going to waste because game releases were at a minimum. - Blu

Yeah, they need to do whatever in the heck they need to do though to get games released on Xbox One. If it's a 1st party game, that game has reason to be canceled. - Luis D. Lucha

They have to reach out to us. - RkRk

More are starting to (under embargo). - Blu

Not us us, but it would be cool for SDGT to be consultants of... cool. - RkRk

(Snaps) Cool. - Luis D. Lucha

I'm not talking about... us... us either. Us as in gamers. Not a bad idea... if they listen. - Blu

lol That was funny. - Luis D. Lucha

Anyway... fans of side scrolling games may find interest in a current Kickstarter project called Okinawa Rush. A rep of the team brought it to our attention (thanks, Racheal), and it definitely takes me back... minus the parrying available in this game. Martial artists and fans of martial arts will probably get the biggest... "kick" out of this game (i.e. Baby Fu Clothing Co.) because they deliver fantasy while implementing techniques that can be found in traditional Okinawan Karate and other styles. It's almost like a 2D adventure starring... Ryu. Fight stick compatible. - Blu

This looks kick ass. - Luis D. Lucha

He was busy... just like you were. - RkRk

lol It would be horrible for someone to say that at a restaurant. - Blu

Prepare to have something in your food. I'm not that crazy. - Luis D. Lucha

Health code violation! - RkRk

There was this place in Fort Myers where the cook would spit in your food because he had a bad day. Multiple complaints went unanswered... and as a result, customers dwindled. I don't know if that's why they went out of business though. - Blu

They should've gone out of business on the first day. The hell is that? - Luis D. Lucha

That... is a health code violation, they probably got shut down and didn't go back. - RkRk

Utterly disgusting. - Yang

This scares me, next topic, please. - Luis D. Lucha

You've been eating at home more anyway. - Yang

My mom has been cooking a lot more. - Luis D. Lucha

And here... we thought you were taking on the kitchen. - Blu

I have sort of. I take my health plate over there. - Luis D. Lucha

I am thinking of getting like 4 of those. - Blu

Just buy one and reuse it like I do. - Luis D. Lucha

No, it wouldn't just be for me. - Blu

Oh ok. - Luis D. Lucha

Okay granddads, back to games and... stuff. - RkRk

Really? Granddads? You do this stuff so you don't feel like a granddad. - Blu

lol heck yeah. - Luis D. Lucha

Dear Developers: Using Game Platforms for other Game Platforms

Before I jump into this... I must say that this has nothing to do with the games or platforms involved (specifically). The problem I have is the overall approach of how those games are made playable... specifically through Steam.

Steam is a game platform, games are available for purchase through it... but suddenly you get hit with this process (after the basic "Install" and pressing "Play"):

The game software opens wanting you to set up... AFTER you thought you were ready to roll through Steam (since you did buy the game through Steam... and pressed play there).

My expression when another platform opens.
After investing in the game, you go ahead and install... thinking you will just roll after that finishes, but then you have to go through the whole rigmarole of creating an account, confirming the email address... and then you can play. Seems like it might not be that big of a deal... right? It's not, for the people who don't mind and have the extra time. For those that don't, this could mean the difference in customers returning or running for the hills.
Some of us want our games tied DIRECTLY (not kinda sort but not really) to the platform we made the purchase on... without a need to do more than hit play. To sign in through the game, I can respect that (at least it's in the game... once)... but outside of that... some gamers don't want to take that extra step and some refuse to.

Going that extra mile to simplify the access to your game (by making it actually accessible through the initial platform like Steam)... could, in turn, boost the bottom line, especially with free-to-play titles like the newly released Gigantic (for example). You can get it through Steam, but you can kinda sorta don't play through Steam... since you have to open Arc through Steam in order to play it (through Steam). I put the extras on it because it really is accessible... like that, and Uplay games are also in that boat. It's not the end of the world, just remember that some gamers are pressed for time.

Think about what the wins could be for you and your team by simplifying the process.

(Speaking of... Gigantic, here is my first time playing it... online.)
