Lara Croft Swaps Tombs for Tilt: Tomb Raider Pinball Hits... Pinball FX!

Summer of Gaming just got a little more adventurous, and a lot more... bouncy (or should I say ricochet'ish?) with the launch of the new Tomb Raider Pinball Pack in Pinball FX. Whether you’ve been flipping paddles for years or just dipping into the pinball world for the first time, this latest addition from Zen Studios is an easy win.

The best part? Pinball FX is totally free to download, and the Tomb Raider Pinball Pack clocks in at just $9.99... giving you access to two beautifully designed tables packed with action, nostalgia, and plenty of ways to chase high scores.

Here’s a quick look at... Pinball FX - Tomb Raider Pinball

What’s in the Pack?

  • Adventures of Lara Croft This is your high-octane, globe-trotting adventure table. Relive iconic moments from the Tomb Raider franchise as you blast through ancient ruins, fight enemies, and unlock mythical artifacts with precision shots and clever combo chains.

  • Secrets of Croft Manor A slower-paced but equally rich table where curiosity rewards the bold. Explore hidden chambers, uncover family secrets, and help Lara prepare for her next big expedition—all within the shadowy elegance of her ancestral home.

Each table is layered with unique goals, cinematic flourishes, and dynamic physics... true to Zen Studios’ signature style. The blend of pinball mechanics and franchise fanfare gets two thumbs up.

A Shoutout to the Pinball Warriors

We’ve shared a suggestion with Pinball FX’s community manager: Consider giving the high scorers more shine! These players put in real work on the paddles, and a public leaderboard spotlight or seasonal showcase could really elevate the competiton. Let's just say... they're considering it!

For newcomers, the fun doesn't stop here! The beautiful thing about Pinball FX, is that it's a gaming platform in... itself. Tomb Raider Pinball is the latest offering among dozens of themed tables in Zen Studios’ expanding collection... that includes Marvel, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and more. So whether you’re flipping for nostalgia, Lara’s legacy, or just craving that sweet clack of a perfectly timed save, Tomb Raider Pinball is an easy recommendation.

Square Enix... did what?!

Embracer grabs Crystal Dynamics + Eidos Montreal + Square Enix Montreal for $300 million! This isn't just Tomb Raider, Thief, and Deus Ex (no no no)... this includes over 50 back-catalog games.

Square-Enix seemed to have set their sights too high when it comes to certain games like Marvel Avengers and the recent Guardians of the Galaxy. You might recall that their CEO (Yosuke Matsuda) felt that Japanese devs fall short when trying to emulate Western games, but I'm instead of just placing IPs in a closet never to be seen again... at least they're being sold off (finally).

A few things happened in the past that were hints at this sale happening. Square Enix wasn't happy with the performance of Hitman, and Deus Ex back in 2017... and IO Interactive decided to go their own way with the Hitman IP to keep it alive. I think it was awesome for the Hitman developer to make that move, and it was less pressure from corporate.

I wouldn't say Embracer Group is a bad home for these dev teams and their IPs because it shouldn't be when you consider their reach and willingness to adapt, but I hope the new home is even better for the developers and gamers. Currently, Crystal Dynamics is working on a brand new Tomb Raider game (which the franchise has limitless potential in my opinion) + we can't forget about the Microsoft X Crystal Dynamics Perfect Dark reboot.

I would say that Epic Games should've considered placing their hat in the race also... if they want to become a bigger threat as far as PC gaming platforms are concerned, but I wouldn't want there to potentially be restrictions on where the games would be available. Epic is still in the mix with several Eidos Montreal projects being developed with the Unreal Engine 5... so hopefully, it's a win-win for all (especially the gamers). We don't know what that full list of games is that were acquired, but one was Legacy of Kain. I highly doubt Parasite Eve would be part of the package, but one could dream... especially if Square Enix doesn't do anything with it. They annoy the crap out of me with that. Do something with it... do a crowdfund if you don't believe in it, sell it, let someone else work their magic with a remake, collab with Capcom, whatever... make something awesome!

The game’s expansive, character-driven story is brought to life by the voice talents of Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series), Darien Sills-Evans (Days GoneLeague of Legends), and Adam Gifford (The ColonyBatman: Hush), plus a score by BAFTA Award winner Jason Graves (Dead Space, Tomb Raider) and story co-written by Origins Awards winner and New York Times bestselling author Matt Forbeck (Deadlands).

Hard West 2 delivers a classic Western world with a supernatural twist, where legends tell of an elusive ghost train with a bounty of gold for the taking. But when first-class con man Gin Carter raids the transport, he discovers this “ghost train” is exactly that! Now Gin must lead a posse of strange outlaws and chase down the Devil across a land touched by darkness, battling forces both living and undead.

Key Features:

FANTASY MANGA + One Punch Man + PS4 Bundle Action + Stuff

You know what's funny... (growing up) I would always check out magazines and comic books starting from the last page. I knew it wasn't the right way, but reading manga that started from that side felt... weird.

Anyway... check out this Fantasy Manga bundle

Humble Manga Bundle: Fantasy by Kodansha Comics

By the way... fans of... One Punch Man can now rejoice after the announcement of Season 2.
There is so much that the anime can offer, and it has the host of heroes... in addition to the ever interesting hero Saitama (aka One Punch Man). Season 1 was awesome, but I hope to see more and hope that the truth comes out of how powerful Saitama really is to the people who think he's just some fraud or a low level hero.

Plus... check out the PS4 bundle below.

Today was a bit busy, cold... but busy! We went to grab these heavy 6 foot tables from Maitland (next door to Orlando... what's up EA Tiburon!) and so I'm driving to the building for pick up... I look to my right and realize Qualcomm is across the street. I was like HOLY CRAP(!) and I totally forgot to take a picture. We were locked in on a conversation that I don't even remember... and it didn't dawn on me until we were in downtown Orlando headed back to the office.

Humble Indie PlayStation Bundle 2019

Oh yeah... I was chatting a little with ToyRage last night while he played Resident Evil 2. He thought my tip for the locker combination was just a lucky guess, but... not so much. When you're in the police station, a certain locker combination is CAP (short for CAPCOM). We were also discussing other game related stuff... and his jaw almost hit the floor because he thought I said Resident Evil Survivor was getting a remake. Not quite, but I think it should... and it should be a VR exclusive. I'd definitely make the game more cohesive and exciting to be worth the purchase, but I don't think they'd have anything to lose by giving VR fans that exclusive. I know assets matter, but VR doesn't get a lot of big exclusive titles... so it could be a win.

Image result for parasite eveA game ToyRage mentioned that I've mentioned in the past, was a Parasite Eve remake. That could be a remake... and a movie. Square Enix did it with Tomb Raider, and I think it would be amazing to see that franchise make a comeback in a big way (it has that potential). It would add a horror game to the line-up. I told him I'd reach out about RE Survivor VR... so we shall see what happens.

I didn't bother making the effort with Parasite Eve though... BECAUSE Square-Enix filed for a trademark in Europe which suggests that a game is in the works. That's exciting. Anyway... I hope you enjoyed the extra dose of... stuff in this post, time to get in some gaming... and I hope you do the same. Stay awesome!

Oh yeah, special thanks to Claire for the help yesterday (enjoy the VR headset)!
