Dear Developers, Let’s talk legacy... Tripwire Interactive’s legacy, to be precise!

When Killing Floor launched as a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, few could have imagined that a gritty wave-based shooter would morph into one of the most iconic co-op franchises in modern gaming. But Tripwire did more than build a hit—they evolved! They didn’t stay comfortable as a talented mod team (and this is no smoke against mods). They transformed into a full-fledged studio. And in doing so, they showed the entire gaming community what’s possible when you treat modding as a launchpad, not a finish line.

This kind of evolution is one SDGT Entertainment has been championing for over a decade. There’s nothing wrong with being a modder—it’s an incredible space to sharpen your skills, test your chemistry with collaborators, and build proof of concept. But... when you put your best into building someone else’s IP—like the countless hours poured into remaking Super Mario 64—you run the risk of watching your passion vanish with a takedown notice. It’s no shade toward Nintendo... because they’re legally protecting their property—but it is a reality that talented devs have learned the hard way.

Tripwire made a smarter play: they took the DNA of their mod, repackaged it into a fresh universe, and walked into the industry like a badass... with their own IP! That gave them full freedom to expand, hire, iterate, and grow a fanbase that’s now excited for Killing Floor 3—a blood-soaked, tactically rich nightmare set in 2091. And they did it on their own terms!

So to all modders reading this: Don’t trash your efforts! Reshape them. Build something original that reflects your skill and vision. Tap into free tools like Unreal Engine, train with resources offered by Epic Games and other dev-friendly companies + courses. Every major studio started somewhere. Tripwire started in the trenches—just like many of you. We're no different!

Stay passionate, stay strategic, and keep building. We look forward to checking out your game one day... just like we’re doing with Killing Floor 3 today!

Saber Interactive Reveals "Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival" (PS5, XSX, PC)

For horror fans who grew up fearing Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, and Freddy Krueger, Hellraiser always lurked just outside the mainstream slasher pantheon... for me. I remember catching a glimpse of the original film as a kid and feeling utterly lost. Pinhead wasn’t part of my “big three,” so I never gave him a fair shake. That changes now with Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival. This first-ever Hellraiser video game promises to plunge players into the Hell Priest’s world. -  Blu

A New Chapter in a Legendary Franchise

Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games have teamed up to bring a brand-new, single-player survival horror action experience to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series XS. Pinhead returns in full force, voiced once again by Doug Bradley—his first reprise of the role in nearly twenty years. Guided by Clive Barker himself, Hellraiser: Revival weaves a fresh narrative that captures the franchise’s signature balance of grotesque beauty and existential dread.

Clive Barker commented, “The team at Saber and Boss has immersed themselves in the Hellraiser universe, capturing its essence—the seductive pull of suffering—and forged a narrative that steps beyond the threshold of nightmare and revelation.” Matthew Karch, CEO of Saber Interactive, adds, “Working with Clive on tense gameplay and a new story that delves into pain and pleasure has been a real treat. We look forward to opening the gates of Hell for fans old and new.”

Dive into the Box’s Dark Powers

In Revival’s story, you play Aidan—on a mission to unlock the Genesis Configuration puzzle box and rescue your girlfriend from unimaginable torment. Along the way, you’ll harness the box’s infernal abilities alongside conventional weapons, inflicting bone-shattering pain (or pleasure?) on cultists, Cenobites, and other denizens of Hell itself. Fail in your pact with Pinhead, and your agony will echo through eternity.

Key features include:

  • A chilling new tale set in Barker’s Hellraiser mythos
  • Dynamic combat mixing firearms, melee, and Box-granted powers
  • Encounters with twisted cultists, hellish creatures, and the enigmatic Pinhead

Ready to Suffer? Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is available to wishlist now on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series XS. Brace yourself for a mature-rated descent into cosmic horror—because once you open the box, there’s no turning back.

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is available to wishlist today on SteamPlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World… Gives me PS1 Vibes in a Good Way on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S!

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World has finally arrived on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS, bringing a beloved 90s action-platformer into 2025 with fresh visuals and modern tuning. Developed by Artdink and Bliss Brain, this full HD remake of Monster World IV reunites the original creators to deliver an optimized anime-inspired 2.5D adventure!

Asha’s journey evokes that chunky, polygonal charm of early 3D-era classics, yet the cel-shaded polygons and bright textures feel right at home today. Think of your favorite PS1 platformers—, and loading times vanish thanks to solid-state drives. It’s nostalgia without the frustration of blocky cameras or excessive pixel hunt.

Vibrant Art Style and Whimsical Gameplay

Every stage—icy caverns, smoldering volcanoes, sky palaces—bursts with vivid hues and playful design. The world of Monster World feels like stepping into an anime painting, complete with expressive character animations. Asha’s sword slashes and shield bashes land with satisfying impact, while background parallax layers add depth that eluded the original 16-bit title.

Mystical companion Pepelogoo isn’t just eye candy. Call, grab, or toss this adorable puff-ball to solve puzzles, access distant ledges, and discover secret passages. You’ll often spot collectible items just out of reach—Pepelogoo’s double-jump, glide, and switch-activation mechanics make exploration intuitive and endlessly rewarding.

Composer Shinichi Sakamoto’s refreshed score trades the original chip-tunes for light orchestration, striking a playful balance that underscores each environment’s mood. While not as sweeping as a blockbuster RPG soundtrack, the melodies will stick in your child's head and perfectly suit the game’s bright & breezy pacing.

 Replay Value and Achievements

Don’t let the main quest’s 5–8 hour runtime fool you—21 in-game achievements and hidden Life Drops pepper every level. Backtracking to nab missed items or unlock bonuses keeps you looping through stages long after the final boss falls. Completionists and casual players alike will find reasons to return.

Fun for Gamers, Anime Fans, and Kids Alike

Rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence, Asha’s adventure is accessible to gamers aged 10 and up. Parents can rest assured there’s no mature content, while anime enthusiasts will appreciate the character designs and storybook presentation. The navigation challenges and secret hunts ensure that “for kids” labels don’t sell the game short.

 Price and Accessibility

At just $19.99, Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World offers incredible value—especially compared to $60 base-tier releases. Whether you’re a retro buff, anime aficionado, or family looking for a cooperative platformer, this title is a low-risk, high-reward addition to any PS5 or Xbox library.

In an era crowded with gritty epics, Asha’s colorful quest provides a refreshing break. Rediscover Monster World through a modern lens and let this spirited remake whisk you away on a whimsical, challenge-filled adventure. Game on!
