Stop it Nintendo!

Oooohhhhh the suspense... oh the drama, what in the heck happened? Nintendo happened... to themselves. What happened RkRk? Well i'll tell you (self, and the rest of the readers wondering why i'm writing something to myself)... Nintendo (AGAIN) is labeling "Games for Kids".

(The Intergalactic Super Gamer insisted that it be in the next post... sooo here it is.) Nintendo already dealt with a blow landed by... assumptions that their console and handheld were hardware designed specifically for kids, and there were people stepping away from them because of that notion (and plenty of media personalities slapped that kiddie title on them too) so then they tried to appeal to hardcore but... it still didn't matter. Clearly the systems aren't just for kids, but there are enough people refusing to take the time to realize that, and Nintendo isn't helping that.

Nintendo does certain things that prevent them from being even more successful due the challenges they put in their own way (i'll talk about some in a sec), and that too contributed to a lack of 3rd party support.

I don't know who makes these category names... but to help Nintendo, they need to stop (like seriously stop) labeling games as "Games for Kids". Where does that leave teens and adults that play these games? Should teens and adults feel ashamed for playing these games and leave them alone because they're considered "Games for Kids"? I'm not saying this is something that should be done... but (my point is) don't label games in a way that further down plays your products while trying to appeal to other age groups.

Nintendo: If you want to get to that next step, you need to break out of this crap. If you want to create some games aimed strictly towards kids... make them, but don't do this to yourselves and scare off developers that want to appeal to older age groups because they fear that kids are the primary audience you have. Cool?

Ex-Nintendo Fans express themselves


Ever see developers that can really make a splash to impact Nintendo's 3rd party library and... it seems like Nintendo refuses to acknowledge them, even if the only thing stopping them is funding for a 3DS or Wii U release? (This was sparked by a recent review... and Q&A response, but not specifically for that game, mainly just the topic.) Big names don't always mean great games, and who knows what could come with the right support... we've seen what could be a great game shot down (just couldn't speak on it due to an NDA). It would've been perfect on the Wii U, and we've seen other games that fit the slot perfectly too... but the small developers couldn't cover what was needed to make it happen so on to other platforms they go (and where does this leave Wii U owners?).

There are... ex-fans that are happy for Nintendo and their cool 1st party lineups, but... they are ex-fans because they are tired of dealing with Nintendo. I had to dig further because... there had to be more to being "tired" of a platform/developer, and I really can't argue with some of the things said.

Nintendo played it safe for what benefits Nintendo... but they are still finding it hard to get the attention of 3rd party (on the Wii U at least) so they must absolutely avoid taking certain steps with the next system (no slew of existing games on current consoles to showcase a new system, don't give off the kiddie vibe, etc). I know they want to... but they have to do it if they want more 3rd party developers releasing titles on their system (make it easier for developers).
You don't have to dump money in 3rd party, but the simpler the process, the better... and if a game is worthy... you may want to make a move on it.

Ex-Fan 1: I want to play more games than they have, and there are more 3rd party games that I want to play that outnumber their 1st party games. On PC I can get them for cheap, and on other consoles I can get exclusives and good 3rd party not just a bunch of small indie games.

RkRk: There are some small... but good indie games out there, but I know where you're coming from.

No i'm not saying they're bad, but that's not the only stuff I want to play.

Ex-Fan 2: I don't give a **** about console wars or being a PC elitist I just wanna put that out there, I just don't have money falling out of my *** and I need to make sure that i'm getting the most bang for my buck. You know?

Nintendo waits too damn long, and then they wake the **** up when the fires on their ***, but its whatever. Did you see more of their current news ****? You work for them? **** they need to do some cool **** like hiring your *** or somebody like you guys that are younger than them and don't act like them. Miyamoto's a cool ************ but he doesn't run ****. If they had someone in there we could actually ******* relate too it would be more comfortable to invest in their **** because then good **** should come if they roll with it. A lot of 3rd party are thinking like a lot of gamers and just saying **** it, they aren't going to waste the money making making wii u **** even if its half ***ed 3rd party games. Its ******* wild because the 1st party games are sweet but I don't have money to get each game system, i'm catching the city bus to get my *** to work. You know? I mean ****.

So I don't care about supporting them over supporting myself because they could give a diaper full of rat **** about me you know? So they better shape their **** up because Playstation 4 is rocking the **** right now. You know? Really need to have the right stuff that entertains me in order to get any of the pennies I scrap together to make those types of buys possible. Sorry about the swearing, but **** they're like a mule you'd tried to pull off of a sinking ship so I left their *** there. You know? Sorry about the swearing.

I wouldn't say the guy swore like a sailor, because I don't know many sailors... but (whew) he really knew how to lay into those words in a way that were comical (I wasn't entirely sure if he was drunk or not). I can agree (minus the barrage of bad language) because... we've discussed these things, with love and respect for good indie games on Nintendo platforms. Serious indies... fly high this isn't a topic about downing you at all, (its just that) Nintendo really really (like seriously) needs to make sure that the next system is open enough to fully develop from PC without the need of anything acting as a bridge to make it happen (so that even more 3rd party developers have additional options). Increased Nintendo console owners mean increased potential customers for every game available on their platforms... and that's how one hand washes the other (as long as the variety of games are there and they're good from 1st & 3rd parties).

Speaking of 3rd party, NoconKid should be hired to help head a team to remake Shenmue.

By today's standards, the world wasn't that massive at all... so what's so challenging about Sega lighting a match to launch such a wonderful game again?

They could increase the personalities of the people, the things you can do, the realism and relationship with your love interest (Nozomi)... and all that good stuff.

They could even bring in more classic games via DLC so that you have more to play in the arcade and at home.

Shemue could be stand-alone (with the entire 1 - 3 experience in one installment)... or it could run from 1 to whatever (with your progress in tact just like on the Sega Dreamcast). They make it a lot more complicated than it has to be... when all they have to do is first lay the cards on the table to figure out the best way to approach the development. Effort will be required... hire people that love the game and have the capability to shock the crap out of fans and people experiencing it for the first time. You can't be stubborn, and when you bring in people that actually care, and treat them like you actually care... the magic will be there.

Do something with Shenmue... or sell the IP, and i'm not talking about Ryo appearing in another Sonic racing game either! In other words... if you don't believe in the IP, sell it off to someone that does and don't look back (even) if it does amazingly well!

Shenmue HD Is Being Made By A Fan, Because SegaAnyone that's part of a game company... should have some interest in games so that there is passion to deliver great experiences. I wouldn't want someone making my food that has no interest in cooking, because I don't want to end up with a bland plate of WTF?, and like other things, gaming is among the things in that area that require passion. Business surpassed passion in a lot of studios (i'm not going to point them out)... at no fault of some of the development teams, so is there really any reason why it's a shock that some games come out incomplete... destined to be a beta once downloadable patches are no longer available for them?

Some people only know games that require patches (how sad)... and if you ever get a chance to go back in time, don't hesitate because its one of the reasons why there is a huge appreciation for the golden age of gaming (over this business age of gaming). Anyway... this fan project shouldn't be ignored in a positive way, and it shouldn't be impacted in a negative way... fans may want to see what comes of this.

Sleeping Dogs has a lot more to it than Shenmue... and just seeing this fan project takes me back. Summers in a high rise, couch full of friends (yes... we hung out in person), playing Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2... (sigh... the memories) chomping on pizza and... it was just awesome. I can smell the chlorine from the pool as I type.

Do you work for game companies without even realizing it?

Masahiro Sakurai of  Nintendo
Sakurai criticizes unfinished games being sold in the industry... and even though he's very late to that party, forget what other developers are doing if they aren't doing it on a Nintendo (as a developer). I'd like to know his take on what Nintendo needs to do with the NX (never mind what's going on else where... unless its coming from his perspective as someone interested in playing the other games).

He has a point though, and a lot of people that game whether they'd want to admit it or not... have become play testers for games that require patches (oh yes... you have) if you've reported bugs or made any customer support contacts about anything that requires a fix. So you've purchased a fully priced game, to be a free game tester for someone else earning the money. Crazy right?

Our advice, put it on your resume... seriously.

A game that we're all really excited about (though it could be me making the claim for everyone)... is Just Cause 3, and I look forward to swan diving into this game on PC as soon as possible (yes PC... paywall-me-not baby!). It will be on PS4 and Xbox One also... so don't miss out if you like big action in an open world setting.

Nintendo Splatoon Bundle Announcement... and why you may want to buy it!

Splatoon's Wii U bundle is in countdown mode (are you ready?)... tickety tock, ink drenched socks, I know a few people ready to play around the clock. If you're hopeful to be the best of the best little squid person... for possible tournaments, first put it out there that you want tournaments for this game so that there is a demand.

Reply below and we will pass it on to Nintendo... because it's one of those games that deserves a tournament to really excite players and potential players. As mention before, this game is coming at a pretty good time... because the summer is right there ([pointing right at it]... do you see it) and this is the perfect game to jump in and out of between dives in the pool.

The reason this is a great time to buy a Wii U... outside of the games already available and those on the horizon is because the best Wii U systems to buy are the bundled systems. Nothing complex about that reason... but you're saving money on games at the same time instead of making multiple separate purchases at once.

I wish the game would've been around $39.99 or $49.99... but it should be alright... and to be honest, there are shooters (that we've mentioned and warned about) that didn't give much more than some multiplayer action and charged a full price. If this game has a full single player campaign... as well as a hefty multiplayer side, then I can't argue with the price (but but but... it would sell a bit quicker at one of the mentioned prices). These Splatoon Amiibo figures may prove helpful if you get the upper hand on the competition... but don't expect Nintendo to give you overkill capabilities that make the game severely unbalanced.

Blue Estate... reviewed!


This is what happens when Comic Awesomeness & Comedy collide with an on-rails shooter… chock full of creativity and naughtiness.

“Viktor Kalvachev’s Blue Estate the game”… is based on a comic by… Viktor Kalvachev & Kosta Yanev. Don’t know who they are? …It’s quite alright, we don’t either, but we hope to see more from team Hesaw because varying styles change up the pace. Following trends is not the way to go, taking your own route and owning the fluff out of it… gives gamers more options to enjoy, and this is what I see in this game.

This isn't a game for everyone (I just want to make that clear)… especially the kids below the recommended age, so put them to bed and game it up. If you like action… want a sense of getting back to the arcade or want to know what it feels like in a sense, then you’re not that far off when you get together with a some of the craziest friends you have playing this on a big screen w/ the surround sound cranked just below… the volume of disturbing the peace!

The story feels good… the art is great, and it feels like one of those comic style movies that places a (light) gun in your hands as you ride shotgun with a fun motor-mouth narrator sitting in the back seat. Light gun games don’t come around that often, and even with FPS games giving you a similar feel mainly do to the first person view (some almost following a similar blue print in their story modes because they take you by the hand even when they shouldn't because its not on-rails BUT)… light gun games have their own charm when it’s done right. Accuracy and timing pays off as you progress in this game that starts off with you rescuing a stripper/love interest from the dangerous clutches of… someone that’s quite the “little” character and then some (so expect a good mash up in this story). Hesaw definitely sends you walking into an inferno... that maintains its action quite well.

The game is priced very well… they didn't play around with a ridiculous price tag which gets a thumbs up from us (two thumbs up). The game is available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, as well as Leap Motion… for fans of the controller. 

Cons of this game (for me) are… “Why in the world isn't it also on the Wii U?” The Wiimote naturally doubles as a light gun (more on the lines of something you’d see in Star Trek via the phasers… but a light gun none-the-less), so we’d definitely like to know why. The experience would be a lot more at home on the Wii U because of the Wiimote more so than… the Xbox One, and the PS4. The nunchuk would drive home the experience also… because you’re required to do certain movements to overcome various obstacles while still taking on the enemy. It’s a nice move that a lot of other ORS’s don't consider, so you're able to do more than just... point and shoot without it becoming a pain since opening doors and stuff help you move forward.

Another con that stems from the lack of a Wii U version (for me), is when I used the standard controller on the PC… it was a pain because the movement of the camera could’ve still been moved around like that of a traditional FPS game to improve on aiming in this fast paced game. It doesn’t break the game… and I was able to proceed, but… I really (really) got into the zone when I put the controller to the side and got on the keyboard & mouse (while thinking of how awesome it would be to play in a more traditional way on the Wii U because of the Wiimote & Nunchuk... without buying an additional peripheral that would only be used based on the frequency of genre related purchases).

Since we wanted to know why Wii U doesn't have the game… and the team was so cool with it, we had the honor of doing a Q&A with them... and the comic book creator:
  • How did Team Hesaw and Viktor Kalvachev meet?
VK: I am one of the founders of the company and had the pleasure to welcome everyone on board myself.
  • What made you consider doing a game based on the Blue Estate comic?
VK: It was one of my partners who kept pushing to make the comic into a rail shooter and I finally gave up. After a month of brainstorming how to approach it I was pretty happy with the chosen direction and we decided to apply for funding through CNC (a French government organization helping studios in France finance their projects). Luckily we were given the grants and so it began. It was so much fun to transfer the comic book universe into a playable one.
  • Why did you decide to go with an on-rails shooter instead of another genre?
VK: We love the genre and we miss the good old games like House of the Dead and Time Crisis. Rail shooters are also a lot cheaper to make then FPS games and we used the controlled camera to give the game a more cinematic feel.
  • Any reason why the game isn’t on the Nintendo Wii U? For use with the Wiimotes?
Samuel Jacques : Actually, we are using a Unreal 3.0 for the game engine.
To release the game on WiiU, we should undertake a massive technical work that is simply beyond our capacity.

Some games using Unreal engine have already been released on WiiU like Mass effect 3 or Batman Arkham City (…if i am right) but those projects had resources we can’t spend
I wish we could do a WiiU version as I really love the console.
Regarding the Wiimotes, I strongly advise you to have a look on Blue Estate steam forum. Some people came up with some creative solutions J
  • Do you see yourself making more Blue Estate games based on the positive response from gamers?

VK:  We would love to. Only time will tell if will get the chance to make another one or not.


Overall, Hesaw made a good move with the game, by placing it in a genre that's not used too often... the story is fun, plenty of action, and the price... forgeeet about it. Its unfortunate that resources stand in the way of this game being on the Wii U... but who knows what a kickstarter could do if they're willing to try.

Onlive goes Offline... how will Nvidia preserve games? + Dear Nvidia + Think before you buy


Onlive goes offline

Now it's time to say goodbye... to all our Onlive friiieeenndds! It's sad to know that those jobs will probably go poof, but what about the games? If you have invested in the service and have purchased game... find out how you will be able to take your library with you (to Steam). We've contacted the company before... because 1st party games would've actually helped them out (if they were good), but not even one popped up.

This is something for stream surfing gamers to keep in mind... "How long will those games purchased at full retail... be accessible by you?" Onlive supporters can kiss (not one, but) ALL of their games... goodbye, no matter if they paid full price for them or not (gotta love that crap, right?).

That's like an ahhh... long term game rental. Where is the safety net if the company pulls the plug? (Sony basically bought them out.) Sony should take Onlive Microconsoles, and the apps (if possible) and update them to run PSNow.

Nvidia's shield console is similar (looking at it from the outside), you aren't downloading and backing these games up, so... I will say think before you buy. We will be making a demand to Nvidia, because there needs to be a safety net for the games sold at full retail price.

That's one thing traditional gaming has over streaming... and games that require the internet to play (period), you can go in and just get your game on with or without the internet. Love it!

I don't mind variety... but I don't like to waste money either, something has to be worth my time to get my dime most of the time. I'm a bit more optimistic with Nvidia, but we shall see.
Why I would consider buying this:  A reason i'd probably be interested in purchasing something like this, is... because I like to have a set top box so that i'm not running a Nintendo, Xbox or PlayStation constantly to stream entertainment (so the fact that it's a set top device is actually the thing that got my attention)... and this is small enough to fit in a laptop bag along with my 3DS. The gaming is a plus in this case... so from that perspective its something I could get with the performance i'd prefer over slower STBs (it also has free games if I just want to play something... without purchasing).

Nvidia... create 1st party games and make sure that you do not lose momentum like... Onlive! It's a competitor to other gaming consoles that have exclusives and first party games, so make it essential to the Shield. If its a console... remember to treat it like one, and go hard for your system to make it worthy of a huge audience.


Think before you buy

Speaking of thinking before you buy... Evolve is more of a devolve in terms of a full retail AAA title. We put out the warning about this game when it was first revealed... it just wasn't a full game, it was as clear as day.

We cannot tell you what to buy and what not to buy (you do what you want) but... complaints about a game are pointless if you lead off with "I should've ****ing listened!".

The company needs to be ashamed of selling "game modes" as a full retail game. The modes are an experience I could see in an arcade, but if its not something acknowledging that the experience is limited and being priced as such... its nothing more than an unfair cash grab. They could fix that by actually giving more as free downloads, but unless they do something... decent like that, i'd be skeptical. Less isn't always more... seriously (like seriously... seriously).

Developers: If you consider doing stuff like this... you deserve to land flat on your face. If you don't know how to make a full... game, bring in some fresh blood to bring the game to life with a depth-filled story worth playing (while giving them a chance to shine). Say no to the rodeo dung!

Nintendo buys Nintendo-Demand?

I had no clue what we were being invited to Nintendo's Tree House for... but holy crap, I didn't expect for us to have an offer to join the Nintendo family. Reggie respects the fact that i'm not going to bite my tongue (because that would hurt, but secondly) because... they need an unbiased addition to the team that keeps them on their toes. That's what made me comfortable with it... but we're still waiting for our lawyer to look over the paperwork.

We were allowed to mention some things to you guys, like things they will consider... including:

- Tournaments that we host (at least once a year)

- Suggestions for games in development... including ideas that we might have for IPs (heck yeah!)
- Game giveaways

- A yearly drawing to take 1 Nin-Dem w/ us to experience E3 every year

- Nintendo-Demand Yadda Yadda Show every Friday night - Saturday morning (Showcasing the gameplay skills of Nin-Dems & Treehouse vets)

Our main focus would be Nintendo-Demand at Nintendo.com/NintendoDemand, and Nintendo Miiverse. We won't be able to talk about other platforms after things are final, but a lot of huge things are coming... we can't say anything about Nintendo NX but I almost (literally) pissed my pants.

Nintendo News: Nintendo Heads to WonderCon with Games, Fan Tournaments and Giveaways


REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The wonder of Nintendo meets the wonder of, well, WonderCon! Nintendo is heading to this year’s WonderCon at the Anaheim Convention Center from April 3 to April 5 with a host of fun games and activities, including hands-on time with Splatoonas well as a variety of games on the New Nintendo 3DS XL system, an interactive amiibo tournament for fans and fun giveaways.
Those that want to get early hands- and tentacles-on time with the Splatoon game will have a great opportunity to do so at WonderCon Anaheim. The upcoming Wii U action shooter will be playable at the Nintendo booth, giving attendees a chance to get a taste of the frenetic and fun multiplayer mode in the game. Fans who can’t attend WonderCon Anaheim are also invited to get in on the fun by checking Nintendo’s social media channels during the event for details about chances to win fun Splatoon prizes from home! More information about these giveaways will be provided at the time of the show.
Starting Friday, April 3, at 2 p.m., the first of several amiibo tournaments will commence at WonderCon. Fans are encouraged to bring their favorite (and most powerful) amiibo figure to the Nintendo booth to enter it into an amiibo tournament featuring the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U games. Each competitor will sign up to enter his or her choice amiibo into the tournament participant pool on a first-come, first-served basis beginning one hour before each tournament start time. As i'm sure many of you have, we posted news last week... about something we mentioned awhile back (Nintendo showing love to PC & Mobile). Of course the over active imaginations of some people made it seem like Nintendo was giving up on their hardware, but what they're doing is:

Taking a creative route with advertising, so that users of non-direct competing platforms... can enjoy a taste of what Nintendo has to offer, and if they want premium content the answer will be to "Get a Nintendo". The streaming service I believe might be managed by DeNA (DNA)... so you don't have to buy every single title from previous systems to enjoy them, you just stream them once you pony up the money (or should I say little horse?).

The announcement of Nintendo's pending console... known currently as Nintendo NX, flipped a lot of people out as well. Maybe Nintendo should've had Dr. Mario prepare some chill pills, because... the final product will most likely surface sometime in 2017. Never mind the worry of an overlapping console feel, Nintendo needs to focus (and has more than likely been focusing) on delivering a system with the right stuff... to appeal to 3rd party.


Must-Haves for Nintendo's Codename NX system:

  • The system needs to be easier to develop for... making it easier to have multi-plaform titles, indie, and first party titles.
  • Make it easy to develop straight from PC... make testing possible from a standard console.
  • Don't make consoles with different hard drive sizes, just make a good one and proceed with it.
  • Partner with an indie at least once a year to create a new IP (add to the variety, Nintendo!)
  • Improve the Wii-mote and sensor bar if they make a return
  • A NEW NAME... because there are still people believing that the Wii U is the 1st Wii!
  • A better standard controller, with a headset jack
  • If the gamepad makes a return, improvements are needed and it shouldn't be the main controller.
  • If you want to appeal to companies that love powerful consoles, give them the power... even if excuses were obvious in many cases when it comes to the Wii U.
  • This isn't a must-have, but we should be able to play games from various regions. If someone buys a game that's not from their region and lacks common languages, it could be a warning presented to them on the package or the screen before they make the purchase... but we shouldn't miss out. For all we know, it could encourage more people to learn the languages they most often encounter in games. I've played games from beginning to end and understood... 0.00...000% of the language, so... what's going to be the result, more money for you because of our decisions to play games from other regions? Sounds like a good problem to have, especially from a developer's standpoint.

    This could also encourage developers to add more language options to their games... and if a game is truly inappropriate for a certain region so that it doesn't offend, create a way to control that (i.e. certain areas don't allow any act of killing another person in games).

Make note of this, even if these companies don't own the internet, they feel they're entitled to more control of it than you. Is this fair in the least? Hell no, and the financial success they've accumulated through business, comes through people like you and I. There are people that see no big deal in companies gaining control, but some of these people don't even use the internet so they wouldn't care.

I'm tired of it, and if more cities in the United States took the initiative prompted by citizens to set up a fiber optic infrastructure for internet, that would increase the opportunities for other ISPs to make their services available.

That wouldn't happen in a day... but, I agree because when more options are available we can ditch ISPs that deserve to lose business. -RkRk

From the Source: Nintendo and DeNA new Business Alliance = Going Mobile & Beyond? ...Yep!

We've mentioned that they (Nintendo) were planning on doing things with other companies... and here's another one of those moves!

From what we read... the new game apps will allow for gamers to enjoy Nintendo franchises through smart devices, and a new multi-device service via new titles (which I think they might have some type of monthly service or something for PC users... since PC is mentioned, but I have no idea until they bring it to our attention). I hope they don't simply resemble other known mobile games and truly take an innovative approach that doesn't take steam away from another developers game that started unique... but quickly ended up in a battle against the clones-type of situation.

They should really do more with indie game developers that have strong concepts also, because key franchises don't cover all categories and a bunch of games starring the same characters can turn into overkill if the main franchises already use them at a high level of frequency.

If it were me (which Nintendo would probably be afraid to have me on their team... hehehe), i'd create a game engine so that there is an exclusive tool for developers to use to create games for my systems that can be developed on PC or MAC. Connect a Wii U and 3DS to a PC, use the software, cut through the bullcrap (for the lack of a better word) and let quality control come into play... resulting in lots of new games for the platforms.

I'd combine the words Nintendo and Engine and call it 'Ningin' or Ningindo. Anyway... here is the information... from Nintendo... hot off the press!

Nintendo and DeNA Form Business and Capital Alliance

Companies to develop new game apps featuring Nintendo IP for smart devices and a new multi-device membership service
TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nintendo Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7974) and DeNA Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 2432) today entered into a business and capital alliance to develop and operate new game apps for smart devices and build a new multi-device membership service for consumers worldwide.
Leveraging the strength of Nintendo’s intellectual property (IP) and game development skills in combination with DeNA’s world-class expertise in mobile games, both companies will develop and operate new game apps based on Nintendo’s IP, including its iconic game characters, for smart devices. The alliance is intended to complement Nintendo’s dedicated video game systems business and extend Nintendo’s reach into the vast market of smart device users worldwide. Under the alliance, DeNA will also be able to strengthen its gaming business at a global scale by leveraging Nintendo’s IP. To ensure the quality of game experience that consumers expect from this alliance of Nintendo and DeNA, only new original games optimized for smart device functionality will be created, rather than porting games created specifically for the Wii U home console or the Nintendo 3DS portable system.
In order to create completely new game experiences for smart devices, all Nintendo IP will be eligible for development and exploration by the alliance. As these consumers enjoy the unique kind of gameplay found only with Nintendo, they will have the opportunity to explore even more premium experiences on Nintendo’s dedicated video game platforms. Nintendo and DeNA also plan to develop an online membership service that is accessible from smart devices, PC and Nintendo systems, such as the Nintendo 3DS portable system and the Wii U home console. As part of the long-term relationship and commitment by each company, Nintendo and DeNA have also agreed to form a capital alliance. Under the capital alliance, Nintendo will acquire 15,081,000 of DeNA’s treasury shares, which corresponds to 10.00 percent of its total outstanding stock, for a total of approximately 22 billion yen. DeNA will simultaneously acquire 1,759,400 of Nintendo’s treasury shares, which corresponds to 1.24 percent of its outstanding stock, for a total of approximately 22 billion yen. The expansive world of Fossil Fighters: Frontier is rich with things to discover. By hopping behind the wheel of a customizable Bone Buggy, players can explore to excavate fossils that can transform into a wide variety of different vivosaurs. After unearthing fossils, players place them in the back of their Bone Buggies to carefully clean and revive them using the touch screen of the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Various upgradeable tools like drills and hammers can be found in the game and used in the fun and intuitive excavation process. Select dig sites might even host puzzle- or speed-based challenges, which can be completed to earn valuable and power-enhancing rare fossils.
Finding fossils and collecting resurrected vivosaurs is only part of the fun, as these prehistoric creatures can be sent into truly epic battles that pit vivosaur versus vivosaur. All vivosaurs fall into one of five elemental categories – Water, Fire, Air, Earth and Neutral – and possess a special ability that will assist them in battle.
