Here are the latest Pinball FX tables

  • Universal Pinball: TV ClassicsClassic television shows from the small screen to the tips of your flipper fingers. Zen Studios has teamed up with Universal Products & Experiences to release three instant classics - Knight Rider PinballXena: Warrior Princess Pinball, and Battlestar Galactica Pinball - to Pinball FX today for $14.99.

(Zen Studios) Building on player feedback, today's update introduces several quality-of-life improvements to elevate the platform to new heights:

  • Notification System: Keep in touch with events on the Home screen. If a friend beats your score, if a tournament you played finished, if you have a trophy to claim, you’ll be in the loop.
  • XP System: Earn XP for gameplay activities to advance your level and earn titles! If you already have rewards from table progression on a table, you’ll still be awarded XP after a play session.
  • Freshen up your space with new optional Pinhall & Music!
  • Even more UI changes. We have moved some stuff around for easier accessibility, more clarity, and a better feel.
  • New look and branding make store pages and online presence fresh and current.

Pinball FX's biggest update is available today on PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. - Zen Studios

I enjoyed the Pinball FX action from the new table, but... I give two thumbs up to Super League Football. Not only because it's free for a limited time, but it's really fun and gives you a challenge that gives you soccer vibes.

While I appreciate the growing number of pinball tables, I love the fact that they're listening to player feedback. Not every single thing will be cohesive, but the things that would make a positive impact on the overall experience... definitely keep them coming. Speaking of Nintendo, Xbox, and Playstation... I'm going to reach out to the team over at Zen Studios, because... why on earth don't those platforms have their own tables specific to a certain first part franchise or even a line up? Missed partnership opportunity in my opinion, and they can do the same for PC based on... Unreal Tournament.

Hangout Spots For Gamers... in Orlando!

I was asked recently about hangout spots in Orlando that may appeal to gamers, so it's the perfect opportunity to recommend some and turn up the in-person interaction with fellow gamers.

One location that immediately comes to mind is... The Pinball Palace at Dezerland. This location has a lounge where you can kick it with friends and play various games on Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, retro consoles, and ofcourse... pinball + Pool! This lounge also has a bar with an assortment of drinks. Outside of couch co-op games, I'd probably go and play pinball or pool. https://pinballatdezerland.com/

Dezerland is near the corner of International Drive & Oak Ridge Road (It's directly across the street from McDonalds, and the word 'Dezerland' are in huge letters). *There is also full arcade just past the bowling area at Dezerland as well.

Dezerland Park Orlando
5250 International Dr, Orlando (FL) 32819

Player 1 Video Game Bar is similar to The Pinball Palace, but you have a lot more drinks + snack options, which some have a game theme to them.

Snacks are limited. The current options are Boneless Chocobo Tenders, Itsa-me, Mario! Mozzarella Sticks, and Raph's Pizza Pockets. These prices are reasonable for the snacks, especially when compared to the sodas, which are $6.00 per bottle (yikes). https://player1orlando.com/

8562 Palm Pkwy, Orlando (FL) 32836

Gods & Monsters is a comic book shop that serves drinks in it's Fallout themed "Vault 5421" bar (featuring games like free Joystick arcade tables). It has all sorts of figurines, the atmosphere feels like the perfect after party location once Comic-Con comes to a close. Which is crazy because the Orlando Toy & Comic-Con is going on right now! I can't confirm if they have food or not (in the vault). https://godmonsters.com/

Quickly Boba N Snow isn't a place with video games, but... this Asian Fusion restaurant shows gamers, and anime fans a lot of love. Gamers will actually take their Nintendo Switch systems to this restaurant to chill, chat, game, and grub. You can really get your grub on here, and the prices are reasonable. Those Korean corn dogs are next on my list, we would get them here and there from a new place near by (Mochinut), but... you can basically get two for the price of one (because Quickly's Korean corndogs are $4 compared to $7.50). https://www.yelp.com/biz/quickly-boba-n-snow-orlando

While these are options you may be interested in checking out, there are other game/card related shops you can meet at if you don't plan to lounge. Also, you can go to a number of places and turn it into a hangout spot for gamers, because it all boils down to where a number of gamers choose to frequent. Seek places with a great option for lounging, good food at a reasonable price, and keep it respectful so that the owners appreciate the constant presence of gamers. They might even be gamers themselves.

Get Ready for a Category V Event as Pacific Rim Pinball Hits Pinball FX

Are you ready for some more Pinball FX action? Well, stay tuned because Pacific Rim Pinball lands on Pinball FX on May 16th!

The team says that you "Play through all the excitement of the first Pacific Rim movie and use your pinball skills to strengthen the link between Raleigh and Mako while resisting the double event of Leatherback and Otachi." I haven't seen the movie ever, but it's all good.  They go on to say that, "if you can get the ball to the bumpers you may even drift with the Kaiju! Wield those flippers well and you might even overload the reactor of Gipsy Danger and seal the Breach once and for all."

“The scale and the stakes are always big in Legendary Entertainment’s franchises,” said Mel Kirk, COO of Zen Studios. “Translating the epic action of the film into the confines of a pinball cabinet proved quite the challenge" (according to the COO), and Mel actually said that the chance of failing with this table... which makes me wonder why. Did they push it to the limit as far as features in a table go? It's a game so you can do whatever, but... if they're simulating pinball they have to keep the table in mind.

Pacific Rim Pinball becomes available May 16 for Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
