Project Switch: Customize Your Nintendo

There are a number of people with stickers on the back of their Nintendo Switch consoles... which I have no issue with (do your thing), but you can take it to a higher level to make it your own.

I do have something that I wouldn't recommend when tricking out your Nintendo Switch. Yes, I did say do your thing (it's your system), but don't put stickers on your Nintendo Switch. The sticky film can get into the crevices, the stickers fade, and... you can risk scratching your Switch trying to take them off. Think of the replay value when it comes to a cruddy Nintendo Switch with scratches on it.

Another thing I don't recommend is getting stickers (at all) or cases that have a specific game installment, show season, or movie installment on it. It dates the case... and what will that mean for resell if you want to sell the case with it? I wouldn't get a case with Super Mario Odyssey written on it, I'd get a case with the 2D Mario art (i.e. when he jumped into the walls in the game).

That said, when tricking out your Switch... you can also protect it at the same time with protective cases like these. They don't stick to the case like a sticker, and... the party doesn't stop here when you're able to show the thumbs, buttons, and even the cradle some love. I'm going to speak on the cradle more down below. All cases you see like the one above and the rest below have art from front to back.

This image shows the back part of this... magical case to give you an idea, but... there are just so many options for the standard Switch + the Switch OLED. All aren't created equal, so check out the various options, but the good thing is... you can easily swap out cases (compared to stickers). Not just swap them out to fill up a bin... get a refund and try another.

To continue the fun, I can't overlook the Switch Dock... cover, which... is also a cool thing to customize if you want to give it a cool look. This literally just... sits there... so even if these dock covers have anti-scratch options (unless you're tossing it around) it should remain in great condition. These aren't just great options to customize your system... if you have a child or children who want to have their system stand out apart from their siblings... there ya go.

Lastly, to keep with the shark theme... I'd even recommend a dust cover because it keeps dust from getting into the crevices and all that good stuff. You can wipe off a dust cover a whole heck of a lot easier than you can a Switch Dock's cradle. Not only do the dust covers prevent dust... they look awesome.

This is a pretty cool option for some, while others may want to create their own look or simply display their Switch while protecting it from dust, so... try a clear dust cover option (or go sticker crazy). Don't worry... all the necessary ports have access to run cables and corded controllers.

First 30: High On Life - The game that could lead to killer DLC + a killer Franchise?!

Rated Mature 17+

High On Life game description:

From the Co-Creator of Rick & Morty and Solar Opposites, comes High On Life. Fresh out of high school with no job and no ambition, you’ve really got nothing going for you until an alien cartel that wants to get high off humanity invades Earth. Now, you and a team of charismatic talking guns must answer the hero's call and become the deadliest intergalactic bounty hunter the cosmos has ever seen. Travel to a variety of biomes and locations across the cosmos, go up against the nefarious Garmantuous and his gang of goons, collect loot, meet unique characters, and more, in the latest comedy adventure from Justin Roiland!

This galactic adventure could go the distance!

The reason why I think this game could have killer DLC, is because of the creator behind this game. Look at Rick & Morty and how vast the adventures are. High On Life... is nowhere near the size of that multiverse, even though they're going in with a huge dose of the craziness that people know and love from Rick & Morty (saying the show name in my best English accent... because it makes me smile for some reason).

The DLC for each game could feel like a season of sorts, followed by a sequel where they do the same... followed by the same, something else that resembles that, plus another thing that looks similar to that one with different adventures... and all the extras that hopefully drive home you getting the idea of what I'm saying in this super long drawn out sentence. (Can you say this without taking a breath in between?)

It's possible just like Rick & Morty, and even though there are more potential ways to run into snags in game development (in my opinion), but... you don't have to worry about going from season to season in games that don't have such a setup. If they want to go hard in the paint with DLC for High On Life... that could keep them busy, but either way, I think it would be a win for Squanch Games + the gamers!

Microsoft X Call of Duty: Is it all doom and gloom?

Can a select amount of gamers or even the FTC stop the Microsoft Activision Blizzard acquisition? It's possible... but it will be a violation of sorts. Microsoft said it's a violation of its Fifth Amendment rights to be exact.

Are we against Microsoft being the Call of Duty publisher? Yes & No, it depends on the way they try to play it. If they took the route that allows the franchise to continue to be released to other platforms like usual... then... yes, if they don't, then... not so much. At the same time... it could be inevitable, but that doesn't mean the ability to for the hand of its new owner... is out of the picture.

Gamers are the reason Activision Blizzard is a thing... just as much as Microsoft. Remember that little thing called support. Remember what happened with Xbox One & ole'... Adam Orth? Hell broke loose.

The launch was a disaster all the way around... because of the absolutely 100% crap of a DRM dish they tried to serve us. Even the Xbox Big Boss Phil Spencer said the console's controversial policies could have been handled better. To that I say... you're damn right. The system was going to be nothing more than a brick once the company moved on to the next console, because of the way things were set up... forget about going back to playing used games.

Forget about even taking your Xbox One to a friend's house to... fun it up for more than the allowed time, because you'd have to go back home to unlock it again. They were forced to go back to the drawing board, so when it comes to games in the Activision Blizzard catalog, is Microsoft willing to play with their bottom line?

Microsoft continues to speak on its public pledge to make Call of Duty more broadly available, mentioning Nintendo, and... Sony. I won't say that I'm riding for Microsoft, but... are they willing to play with their bottom line or do they desire to increase it with this acquisition?

Leaving the existing catalog as something available for multiplatform access... secures things a lot more than an exclusive at this time. Gamers are getting it in any and everywhere fun can be had... with family + friends + others around the world. It would make no sense to pull out of the Playstation platform, they just have to approach it the way it's been approached as always... don't try to do the platform within a platform crap because at any point that goes left... the gamers lose. Not only will the gamers lose, Microsoft will lose... again, and Call of Duty has been around since before some gamers were even born, but... it can be replaced if they don't play their cards right.

  • Nintendo could make a move on the 007 franchise... that sent gamers flocking to the N64, but at the same time... they could take Metroid Prime to the next level and make it the best FPS franchise on Nintendo.

  • Playstation could be killing it with Killzone games. They can do their homework and come back harder than ever. COD isn't the end all be all.

Microsoft has products available on Apple and Google for a reason, which includes releasing Windows Phone apps on these competing platforms, which was crazy to me because of what it meant for the Windows Phone. It made sense though because it's more of a win... and I think the same applies to Nintendo and Playstation, so... I'll wrap it up by saying if they play it right... they'll win if they don't make themselves replaceable.
