World War Z’s Waves of Lead Update Is Out Now
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Oct. 5, 2026 – Saber Interactive has released the free “Waves of Lead” update for World War Z. The update is available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
New Weapons, Perks and Mutators
Waves of Lead expands the zombie shooter with the tier-three BSG-12 Bullpup Shotgun and the heavy Gas Pipe Wrench melee weapon. Players can also unlock three new portrait frames and experiment with six heavy-weapon perks: Last Exhaust, Pillbox, Cluster Bombs, Dragon Breath Shells, Two-layer Bullet and White Phosphorus.
Five additional mutators—Paranoid’s Reserves, All-In, Let Them Dance, Sharp Shards and Leaky Backpack—add new ways to reshape missions and challenge squads.
The Walking Dead Crossover Gets Extinction Mode
The update also adds Extinction Mode support to the World War Z x The Walking Dead crossover episode. Saber Interactive is launching a separate $4.99 Valhalla Raider Weapon Skin Pack featuring runic-steel looks for the Geist 17 machine pistol, ARK-103, BSG-12, Paladin LMG and Taiga-12.
Where to Play
World War Z supports solo play with AI teammates and four-player co-op with cross-platform multiplayer. The game is available through Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation and Xbox.
