FTS: GROUNDBREAKING ACTION-SANDBOX SERIES RETURNS WITH JUST CAUSE 4!

Square Enix

LONDON (10th June, 2018) – SQUARE ENIX® today announced JUST CAUSE™ 4, the pivotal new entry in the highly successful action-sandbox series, developed by AVALANCHE STUDIOS. JUST CAUSE 4 was unveiled with a new gameplay trailer as part of the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing. JUST CAUSE 4 will be a key release for Square Enix and a landmark entry for the series, when it is available on December 4, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4®, and Windows PC.

The JUST CAUSE 4: Announcement Gameplay Trailer

Set in the fictional South American world of Solis, JUST CAUSE 4 takes the series incredible destruction and unique physics to a whole new level with the introduction of tornadoes and other Extreme Weather events. JUST CAUSE 4 has four distinct biomes: Rainforest, Grasslands, Alpine & Desert. With each biome offering its own individual, fully simulated weather event, players will have a truly unique experience as they traverse this deep, diverse world.

Rico Rodriguez returns in JUST CAUSE 4 with his trademark parachute, wingsuit and of course his grapple hook, now enhanced with new functionality and fully customizable. Making it the most powerful and creative tool the player has ever had.

“We’ve taken everything that players loved from our previous games and with brand new features, enhanced physics, and core gameplay improvements, we’ve created the most ambitious Just Cause experience to date,” said Francesco Antolini, Game Director at Avalanche Studios. “The introduction of Extreme Weather is a complete game changer - players will not have seen anything like this in a videogame. We have created fully physicalized tornadoes, blizzards, sandstorms and torrential downpours which affect gameplay in a very real way. All of this is now possible thanks to our brand new Apex engine.”

The new Apex engine underpins everything in JUST CAUSE 4. It delivers the most interactive, extreme weather simulations ever seen in a videogame, complimented by incredible visuals, unparalleled physics, and endless creative possibilities.

E3... NOW!

I called it years ago... that other companies would start jumping the gun ahead of E3,
following in the footsteps of Nintendo. It began happening slowly but surely.

Watch This: BIG 3 Friday

What I like about this BIG 3 promo is how Cube adds a touch of the Friday franchise. - Blu

Can Last Friday just come out already?! - Luis D. Lucha

I think it was more organically funny in the first one, but the second one was cool. - RkRk

Yes... the first two are easily my fave. 1st then the 2nd. - Blu

I only like the first film. Bring back Smokey! - Yang

They want Chris Tucker back on the team... bad, but he felt he was way underpaid in the first. I think that was his first role which tends to happen, but... if they can pay him what he feels he's owed, he might be in it. - Blu

I hope so, he made the film what it was. - Yang

It was a great team dynamic, but yes... he was a trailblazer. Just like in Money Talks. - Blu

Awww man, I think I like that better than Friday. - Luis D. Lucha

It was a great movie, but I think they're different enough to get equal appreciation... at least from me. - Blu

Now I want to watch them. - RkRk

Will the ATARI VCS be similar to our SEGA Streamcast concept? Hmmm

The idea we had for a Sega Streamcast idea... was similar to a Steam Link, but it had its own interface, classic games built-in, discounts on Sega games for every owner of the unit and a way to stream movies (via Netflix, etc). It really sounds like it, but if its Linux based and they're leaving the door open to more... it may be the system for Linux users. One thing about Linux users, they may not get as much mainstream love... but they support those who show love to them (not just superficially).

If the Linux base was the main reason ATARI surpassed its $100,000 goal by over 2000% placing it in a multimillion-dollar pond of crowdfunding success... I'm not surprised. It could be based on the interest most may have in the modifications if it's truly customizable. If the ATARI VCS is something that allows you to swap out memory cards, graphics cards, and all that good stuff... it could truly be a different type of system worth the purchase (if its solid). If it's similar to a Steam Link or more so a Steam Machine... I wouldn't consider it competition to the big 3 at all... and that wouldn't be a bad thing. Right now it's still an enigma to most, but once they show and prove what it will be in its final form... that will help me determine whether its a yay or nay. I'll leave you with the video. Game on!

Top 20 Cities for Gamers in the USA?!

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2018 drawing large crowds June 12-14 and the gaming industry bringing in over $100 billion per year globally, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2018’s Best Cities for Gamers

To determine the best places to be a serious gamer, WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities across 20 key indicators of gamer-friendliness. The data ranges from average internet speed to video-game stores per capita to the number of esports tournaments.

Top 20 Cities for Gamers
1Seattle, WA11San Diego, CA
2Orlando, FL12Columbus, OH
3Atlanta, GA13Boston, MA
4Austin, TX14San Francisco, CA
5New York, NY15Portland, OR
6Irvine, CA16Pittsburgh, PA
7Los Angeles, CA17Jersey City, NJ
8Las Vegas, NV18Anaheim, CA
9Raleigh, NC19Madison, WI
10Fremont, CA20San Jose, CA

Best vs. Worst

  • Las Vegas has the most video-game stores per square root of the population, 0.0306, which is 20.4 times more than in Long Beach, Calif., the city with the fewest at 0.0015.
  • Fremont, Calif. has the highest average download speed, 69 Mbps, which is 4.1 times higher than in Buffalo, N.Y., the city with the lowest at 17 Mbps.
  • Gilbert, Ariz., has the highest share of households with a broadband connection, 95.9 percent, which is 1.6 times higher than in Laredo, Texas, the city with the lowest at 59.6 percent.
  • Durham, N.C., has the cheapest monthly internet cost, $43.43, which is 2.4 times cheaper than in Anchorage, Alaska, the city with the most expensive at $102.54.

Seeing Orlando, FL as the number 2 city for gamers... according to WalletHub's study... is pretty cool (we call it home, so... that deserves a OORAH)! The most shocking is California not being in the top 5, but Cali dominates as far as having the most cities on the list.
