SUP Multiplayer Racing... Reviewed!

Ready... Set... Go! It's time for a mobile review! RkRk & I double teamed this one and he supplied the gameplay video, enjoy! Videos are less than 1 minute but they cover the full race.
SUP Multiplayer Racing is a... multiplayer racing game (shocker). 4-players race on a two-lane track to avoid being in 4th place. Controls are very simple, you use the steering wheel button to go from lane to lane and to perform tricks like 360 air spins and drifts on the ground. The nitro button boosts your speed, and... that's what you get... but that's all you need to play. Old school gamers who gave up on new games because of complicated control schemes can rejoice over this type of game and the new school gamers can appreciate the challenge of using the simple controls. It's the perfect type of game for the casual gamer who wants to step up the action. Vroom-Vroom!

How in the hell can you have a strategy in this type of game, seriously? - Luis D. Lucha

You can easily have a strategy in this game by timing your turns and the way you use your nitro. Turns allow you to change lanes, but you can also knock someone off the road if there is no barrier or worse. The worse thing you can do to someone is make them land on their side because it takes awhile to get out of that. I've seen people shoot sonic blasts from their cars to hit the driver in front of them, I've also seen trucks jump and cause a crack in the road that slows down other drivers that roll over it. Hmmm, what else did I see? Oh yeah, I saw cars jump and propel through the air.

The SdgtEnt car doesn't have all that, we have the free-to-play model that you build up the "free" way. It doesn't make you any more or less good from my experience. What I did notice during my experience playing the game is the crapload of ads. (Dude) There are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many ads in this game, I had to lay in on the "o" key. They're a real pain, and you have to go through them in order to receive rewards that you've won... after the race is done. They have a buy option to get rid of ads, but it's not in a place you see it regularly. It should be on the rewards screen.

So that's the con I give to this game Want to earn a reward? Watch an ad. Want to open a free chest? Watch an ad. One thing I wouldn't have a problem with regarding the ads, is them remaining for the sake of doubling rewards (at least those are optional)... unless you can double up without ads after you buy.

Visually the game looks good for... mobile. I'm not dissing mobile, I just give it a pass on mobile... but I'd probably expect more on console (but I think this decision was to make it playable on all sorts of phones). It's a free-to-play game, although if you want to spend money, you can drop from $0.99 to $99.99 USD on this thing. If you're using your parent's credit card without their permission... expect a punishment of equal or possibly lesser value. The sound is pretty good in this game too, it's not a wow, but its good and I don't play the game on mute.

One plus I give the game is that if you don't want to pay... you aren't boxed in a corner. I think the extra ads reward well because those are ads you're watching... a lot... to help drive up the dollars for the developer (pun intended). You don't really have to watch until a certain amount of time has passed so that your energy meter is back up... just put those ads to work for you, so that's the incentive you get for that. Another thing you can benefit from that doesn't require ads (surprisingly) is track building. You make custom tracks for players to race on... and based on the number of upvotes... you can win gems (7 Max). It will cost you 1,000 coins, but you can unlock chests, decrease clock times to unlock chests, and more with these gems. So they really come in handy. The game also includes an emoji system so that you can show faces. I've never used it... sorta hard to do that and expect to win.

Overall, SUP racing is fun, the replay value is there... because you honestly don't know what to expect from other drivers, and there are tournaments live 2 vs 2, etc. to keep you coming back. At the same time, if you don't buy the version that gets rid of those ads... it could get annoying after awhile. I also say that to say... if the competition makes something similar, look out.

Fun factor: 4

Visually: 4

Replay value: 5

Price: 5

Way Too Many Ads: -1

"3.5 / 5 Cool Points"

FTS: Final Fantasy XIV Online... GO?!

‘GO’ MOBILE APP BRINGS FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE EXPERIENCE TO THE OUTDOORS

Geo-Location Technology Transforms Real-World Locations Into Gathering Nodes and Smartphones Into Harvesting Tools

LOS ANGELES (April 1, 2018) – It’s time for fans of FINAL FANTASY® XIV Online to suit up and gather their farming gloves as SQUARE ENIX® today announced the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online GO app, which opens up Eorzea® to the real world. Players can go outside and harvest natural resources that can be used to craft in-game items and gear.

While utilizing the app, players will be notified about harvesting nodes and natural resources in their area via their smartphone’s geo-location capabilities. As they get close to the node, players tap their screen for a chance to harvest the resource exactly like they would in-game.

“It’s about freedom”, says Haimirich Fischer, VP of Innovation at SQUARE ENIX, “We wanted to empower over 10 million players to be able to gather wherever they want, whenever they want, without the restriction of their PC or consoles. By bridging the digital and physical worlds, FINAL FANTASY XIV Online GO creates that freedom and fosters social interaction between the members of our amazing community.”

A unique FINAL FANTASY XIV Online GO Harvesting Stick accessory will also be available for use in conjunction with the app, effectively turning a player’s smartphone into a miner’s hammer, botanist’s axe or fisher’s rod. This allows players to swing their phone in the real world like they would in-game to harvest resources, boosting a player’s harvesting success rate to 100%.

“This is the most immersive MMORPG experience for players of all levels and a must-have accessory for every gathering enthusiast,” states Adalberta Gardner, Lead Designer at Amajina Apps, about the Harvesting Stick.

Soundwave is now available in... Transformers: Forged to Fight!

Today, Kabam released another Transformer into the battle. Soundwave is his name, Transformers: Forged to Fight is the game... and since he's all about loyalty to Megatron's cause... you know he's a Decepticon.

Soundwave is a Communications Officer... who aims to please Megatron as often as possible. His special ability... the Sonic Shield, is probably something you'd want to look out for. Not only does it protect Soundwave of incoming attacks, but it has the chance of reflecting those on-coming range attacked... sending them right back at cha.

The kicker: Reflected attacks will deal 140% their original damage... so, yeah... watch out.

If you aren't familiar with this game, its presented as an AAA 3D HD action-fighting RPG... for mobile. You're able to build your own teams utilizing Autobots & Deceptions from animated shows, films, comic books, etc. So if you're a Transformers fan or simply want to try out the game... check it out on GooglePlay or the AppStore.

Fun fact: I met a Voice Actor for Optimus Prime once (I believe it was Peter Cullen, but it could've been Frank Welker... because I remember something about Scooby-Doo).

Naturally mobile is going to ultimately have more options and the biggest gaming audience. Even kids have smart phones.

Whoa, what?! Not everyone has a cellphone. The biggest games are going to always be on pc/console.

I didn't say the biggest games. I said the biggest "Audience". Furthermore, not everyone has a PC or a game console. Mobile phone usage greatly exceeds PC and game consoles.

Which isn't the end of the world if you think about it. The more money developers can make... the more assets they have for the bigger games because they'd have more of a leg to stand on (financially). As time increases we see mobile getting stronger and stronger... which results in more and more visually impressive games (graphics wise). Remember the old (but faithful) phones of yesterday?

Yeah yeah. I remember the old bricks. They had to decrease the resolution for games like Zuma.

Now think of the mobile progression and where it will be as technologies continue to advance.

I don't want to say goodbye to pc/console.

You don't have to, Luis. You just get emerging technologies like the Nintendo Switch and console quality gaming away from the PC and console. Is that a bad thing?

I get it. More options! I think I know the next game we should do a giveaway for.

Imagine a day when you can take your phone and pick up where you left off on console. That would be sick... and Nintendo is doing that in a sense, but just think of where the tech will go and if gamer's push to keep more stationary platforms in the picture. There should be something like that (I think), especially if Nintendo... next move gets followed up on by the competition. I'd see Sony going into that before Microsoft... but who knows. More options is a beautiful thing, but I feel you, I want to be able to still pick up a controller and just game.

Time for Rico to reach the high seas!

Just Cause 3's Sea... action has just been upgraded with the Bavarium Sea Heist. I won't get into full details about it at this time because we still have to review it, but on that note, it's now available. The Air, Land & Sea Expansion pass holders can just download it, while those of you who want to get out and... test the waters can download it for $5.99 / €5.99 / £4.99. On that note... check out the trailer below and see if it's something that tickles your fancy. Game on!

  • Liberate the Medici coastal waters of Scolio, home to Eden Research stations and the mysterious “Stingray” base.
  • Drive the deadly rocket boat “Loochador”, using its multi-lock missile launchers and mini-guns to defeat the formidable Black Hand Fleet.
  • Infiltrate the Stingray base to steal the deadly “Eden Spark” lightning gun and unleash elemental death on your enemies in all new story-line and missions.
  • Power up the Eden Spark further with mods earned in the “Boat Invader” challenge.

You know something... if the development team created an option for creative people (such as us) to make scenes in the world of Just Cause 3, something amazing could come of it (organically). I'd love to see what people come up, there are plenty of main NPC, basic NPC and ofcourse... Rico.

                                   +

We are going to be swooping into the world of BATMAN as told through the story crafting pro's at TellTale games. We look forward to reviewing this title as soon as humanly possibly and... we also are pushing a little something AWESOME... closer to launch. We've provided a question to our contact at TellTale to see if they've ever considered giving us the option of a VR view in games such as BATMAN... and The Walking Dead. I really think that they'd be able to take the cool to the next level because the depth (if you have the VR headset & compatible hardware) would go beyond a 10... in my opinion.
