Nintendo-Demand: Re-Released + OlliOlli: Switch Stance

I won't complain about this game specifically, but... Nintendo (since the Wii) tends to be the platform to get a second wind out of previously released games. There are some games there, especially from first party... and they're undeniable but all the re-releases are underwhelming. I won't say its because the games suck, but buying new(er) consoles just to backtrack is... not exactly something I look forward too. I may sound like a hypocrite after pushing for Shenmue 1 & 2 to make a return, but that was in light of Shenmue 3 and holding onto the hope that the first two could be remade. In addition, Shenmue 1 on the Sega Dreamcast allowed for you to pick up in part 2 where you left off.

So... put that together and it spells out my desire to have the saves be usable in Shenmue 3. Other consoles aren't free of re-releases, I just notice it more on Nintendo since the Wii. If you're going to re-release... add something to make the replay worth it. Granted, not everyone has pleased every single re-released game, but... it wouldn't affect them in the negative to get more out of the deal as a result of supporting the second wind game.

OlliOlli: Switch Stance Brings the Legendary Skate Series to Nintendo Switch on Feb. 14

AMSTERDAM and LONDON  Jan. 8, 2019  It’s been a while since genre-defining skate-em-up OlliOlli first tickled the thumbs of trick-hungry gamers. After multiple successful releases on various platforms, board lords Roll7 and sprained-ankle amateurs Good Shepherd Entertainment are here to announce the forthcoming launch of OlliOlli: Switch Stance on Nintendo Switch™ on Feb. 14, 2019.

With an almost embarrassing 75 awards and nominations under its belt, including BAFTA Best Sports Title 2015, the franchise is pulling out all the stops for its Nintendo Switch debut. OlliOlli: Switch Stance includes not only OlliOlli but also OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood, living up to the maxim that more is always more.

OlliOlli’s 2D side-scrolling world, straightforward controls and rapid-fire gameplay have found perhaps their greatest home yet on Nintendo Switch. OlliOlli: Switch Stance combines addictive die-and-retry gameplay with hundreds of air-defying tricks and grinds, cunningly crafted levels and challenges, plus fan favorites like Spots Mode, Daily Grind and an unlockable RAD Mode. Take command of the Joy-Con, land those sweet tricks, and bathe your ears in a soundtrack of exquisite electronic head music.

If for some bizarre reason (alien abduction, prolonged coma, meat sweats, etc.) you’ve never played an OlliOlli game, OlliOlli: Switch Stance is your chance to right that wrong. It's also the perfect Valentine's Day gift for your partner who wish they’d learned to skate when they were kids but now realize it’s far too late. Rub it in.

Nintendo Games Now Available!

As some of you may know... we've been partners with Humble Bundle for some time now, and we've had games on top of games for PC owners. Even Playstation and Indie Nintendo devs have gotten love, but now... official Nintendo games are now available. Another Nintendo-Demand has been met!

Nintendo 2DS Price drop w/ Mario Kart 7 + RkRk chimes in! + From the source: Nintendo eShop action!

If you wanted to get your hands on a Nintendo 2DS... now seems like a good time. Though its a good price drop, it should've been a similar price point from launch (in my opinion). It feels more like Nintendo novelty, even if its geared towards kids so that they don't have the option to use the 3D feature (and that's good... it is) but like everyone (even Toy R Us kids)... they will get older and probably want that 3D feature like we have. There was also enough room on this thing for a second circle pad or at least a c-stick, but I will leave that alone... I just hope that Nintendo's next handheld can deliver with fewer revisions or no revisions at all (maybe even make the thing customizable with optional analog stick screw in's, etc.). I'd like the next Nintendo handheld to have a premium feel to it, something like the Xbox One's pro controller quality.

Anyway... back to the 2DS. If that's all the parents could afford, then the kids are S.O.L. (sure outta luck), but there could've simply been another option like a parental lock of the feature in the New Nintendo 3DS. That would've spared resources possibly even to the degree of releasing that handheld at a lower price and making the shift to upgrade a bit more realistic for some gamers who can't play certain games ONLY available for the... New Nintendo 3DS (which is still a major "WTF").

On the plus side you get... Mario Kart 7 thrown in, which has replay value out the tailpipe! So if you'd rather you or your child to have a 2DS or its just the best price option to get access to a really good library of games... enjoy the crap out of it! (Ka-Boom!)

From the Source: Sega - Sega 3D Classics Collection

Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Power Drift and Puyo Puyo 2... are easily the top games
in this collection for me. What about you? Sound off in the comments below.

+Nintendo, you should seriously consider achievements in the project nx home console and handheld OS. I can't stress this enough, because... it increases the life of games via various challenges we'd have to accomplish in order to be rewarded with something that adds to our collective rep.

Relive Nine O.G. Sega Games with the SEGA 3D Classics Collection
Yo wassup dawg?! Remember loading up your SEGA Master System or Genesis with the raddest cartridge back in the day and playing for hours? Well, you may not be a kid anymore, but we've got the illest cure for your feelings of nostalgia, because the SEGA 3D Classics Collection will be released physically and digitally in the Americas! Sega will be hooking playas up with nine old school games -- that have been powered up with fresh new visuals and content by the fly M2 posse -- for the Nintendo 3DS system on April 26. (Alright, that's enough 90s corporate video game store training video, we apologize for subjecting you to it.)

The SEGA 3D Classics Collection, available on the Nintendo eShop and in retail stores contains nine classic SEGA games originally released on SEGA's Master System and Genesis consoles:
  • Power Drift - A high octane sprite-based circuit racer.
  • Puyo Puyo 2 - A head-to-head competitive puzzle game.
  • Maze Walker - A 3D mystery adventure.
  • Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa - A classic psychedelic scrolling shooter.
  • Fantasy Zone II W - Fantasy Zone II W is basically an updated version of the game above.
  • Sonic The Hedgehog - Control the iconic character in the classic fast-paced platformer.
  • Thunder Blade - Helicopters, guns, missiles and explosions. What more do you need?
  • Galaxy Force II - Save the galaxy in this space themed3D shoot 'em up.
  • Altered Beast - A beat 'em up set in ancient Greece.
You may have noticed that some of the games in the collection are already available à la carte only on the Nintendo eShop, and wonder why you need the SEGA 3D Classics Collection. Well, in addition to getting a physical release, the collection includes four games that haven't been released on the 3DS before (two of which never made it out of Japan!), and the total for the nine games clocks in at just $29.99/CA$44.99. So take a chill pill, quit trippin' yo, and check out these fly screenshots! (Sorry, we said we'd stop, and we didn't. Apologies again.)

The never-before-released-outside-of-Japan Power Drift will satisfy your need for speed.

The other never-before-released-outside-of-Japan Puyo Puyo 2 will test friendships.
Take a psychedelic trip, man, in Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa.
Whatever you do, don't panic in Maze Walker.
Unleash your beast mode in Altered Beast.
Guess who has to save the Space Federation in Galaxy Force II.

Don't Drift Aimlessly - POWER DRIFT with Purpose in the SEGA 3D Classics Collection
Nine Sega Classics (some unreleased!) Arriving on April 26for Nintendo 3DS
IRVINE, Calif. - Jan. 21, 2016 - The best thing about classics is that they never go out of style, which is why SEGA of America is bringing nine classic SEGA games to the Nintendo 3DS™ system as part of the SEGA 3D Classics Collection. The best part - four of the nine classics are games that have never been released on the 3DS previously. For all of the included classics, developer M2 painstakingly recreated the experiences by breaking down the original games and powering them up with new visuals, game modes, and more to take full advantage of the Nintendo 3DS system. The SEGA 3D Classics Collection will be available in stores and digitally exclusively in the Americas for $29.99/CA$44.99 on April 26, 2016.
Because it's a collection, the most prudent thing to do would be to list the games included, starting with the titles never-before-released outside of Japan first:
  • Power Drift - This sprite-based circuit racer puts you head to head against other AI racers in a twisting, turning, jumping, looping race to the finish.
  • Puyo Puyo 2 - This head-to-head competitive puzzle game is simple to learn, hard to master, and compellingly addictive. Compete against the AI or friends in local multiplayer. Note: because of the quirks of trying to localize a game hard-coded in Japanese, the game has been left entirely in its original language. English instructions are available in the included digital manual.
Next, we have a pair of rarities not released on the 3DS before - true collectibles for the Master System enthusiast:
  • Maze Walker - Originally designed for the SegaScope 3-D glasses on the Sega Master System, Maze Walker comes to life on the 3DS, faithfully reproducing the sense of depth as players try to escape the mysterious, twisting maze filled with unknown dangers. Originally released as Maze Hunter for the Master System in the West.
  • Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa - The sentient space ship Opa-Opa is back to defend its bases from evil (but cute!) invaders in the classic scrolling shooter. For SEGA history buffs, this version ofFantasy Zone II is the original Master System version.
And for the previously released titles:
  • Fantasy Zone II W -Fantasy Zone II W, which was originally created for the Master System, is the version of Fantasy Zone II upgraded to the graphical capabilities of the System- 16 arcade board with added 3D effects. You can enjoy it in 2 game modes with different rules.
  • Sonic The Hedgehog - The evil scientist, Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik), has snatched the animals of South Island, turning them into robot slaves. Only the famed blue blur can defeat Dr. Eggman and rescue the animals from his vile clutches in the game that started it all for the fastest hedgehog - Sonic!
  • Thunder Blade - In Thunder Blade, players control a helicopter and use guns and missiles to destroy enemy vehicles while flying between buildings, through caves, and into enemy bases. The re-mastered version boasts stereoscopic 3D visuals and adds a host of new features.
  • Galaxy Force II - As the star pilot of the Space Federation, it's up to you to strap yourself into your TRY-X fighter and turn the tables on the invade forces of Halcyon and the Fourth Empire in this 3D shoot 'em up.  This remastered version has upgraded graphics with double the resolution of the original for a more pleasing aesthetic.
  • Altered Beast - Summoned from the dead by Zeus, players in Altered Beast must shape shift into various beasts and fight off hordes of demons to rescue the captured Athena from the clutches of Neff. Offers local co-op multiplayer.

Drama'N'Drablands | 01.29.2016 + From the Source: Nintendo eShop Action!

It's Friday already? Oh... snap, we've been too busy to notice the days flying by. So many games to play, including Just Cause 3 and the PC release of Rise of the Tomb Raider... etc. So if you'd excuse me, it's game time!
