FTS: Skybound's "Invincible Universe – Rise of the Sequids" Out Now in Fortnite (PC, Consoles)

Skybound Games Announces Brand-New Fortnite Experience, Invincible Universe – Rise of the Sequids, Launching Today

Humans and aliens battle for supremacy in this team deathmatch with a twist!

LOS ANGELES – April 11, 2024 – Skybound Games is thrilled to announce Invincible Universe – Rise of the Sequids, a brand-new, free-to-play, 10v10 deathmatch experience completely within Fortnite, launching today on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Dive into the latest epic crossover between Fortnite and Invincible, based on the popular “Red vs Blue” team deathmatch-style game mode in Fortnite Creative… with a twist. The match ends only when all players have been assimilated to one team!

Invincible Universe – Rise of the Sequids centers on a battle for dominance between humanity and world-destroying aliens. Unique to the Invincible universe, Sequids are parasitic creatures that latch onto, fuse with and control a host body. If a human player is killed, they respawn at the Sequid team base as a Sequid player. If a Sequid player is killed, they respawn at the human team base as a human player. A HUD slider tracks the balance of players on each side in real-time.

Will the hive-minded aliens prevail? Or will humanity be victorious? You decide.

Continuing to push the limits of the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) to new heights, Invincible Universe – Rise of the Sequids is the latest in Skybound Games’ series of superheroic Fortnite experiences. It follows the release of the robust narrative experience Invincible: Doc Seismic Attacks and the free-for-all shooter Invincible: GDA Combat Training.

These custom Fortnite experiences are out now, following the second half of the season two premiere of the critically acclaimed adult animated superhero series Invincible, co-produced by Skybound Animation and Amazon MGM Studios. The first half of season two won Rotten Tomatoes’ Golden Tomato Award for Best Animated Series and continues to be “Certified Fresh” with a 100% score.

Invincible Universe – Rise of the Sequids launches as a free-to-play experience within Fortnite Creative today on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Can you play the original Gigantic with new players? Here are the results!

So, I had quite the adventure getting Gigantic installed and not... running. First, I had to deal with missing DLL warnings, that I resolved by uninstalling and reinstall the game.

Then, I had to jump onto the Arc platform and create a new account because you can't justt play the game from Steam. But finally, I can say with certainty... if you owned the original version, you have to buy Gigantic Rampage Edition if you want back in.

I kinda get why they did it - they want to bring in new sales and stuff. and I respect that. However, I think it's a missed opportunity to grow the player base. They could have given Rampage Edition owners access to exclusive stages that the original owners can't play. This would have increased the incentive to buy, while giving Rampage Edition owners access to other players.

I mean, let's be real here: we don't know who's willing to return. So, opening up the opportunity to play with Rampage Edition owners would have been a really cool way to reignite interest in the game. But, hindsight is 20/20, and... it is what it is.

Are you ready for... Star Wars Outlaws?

Have you seen the trailer for Star Wars Outlaws? It's one of those games that I'm waiting for with bated breath. And as a lover of open-world adventures done right, the idea of exploring the Star Wars universe in a way its supposed to be set up is giving me goosebumps (fingers crossed). Blu is still hopeful for a co-op adventure with Star Wars Bad Batch, but perhaps that's next up. Anyway, check out the trailer for Star Wars Outlaws:

Now, let's talk editions. They have your standard version, of course, but you also have the limited and gold editions. The Limited Edition comes with the Rogue Infiltrator Character Pack, which includes ultra-cool cosmetic items for Kay and Nix. And the Gold Edition? It gets you access up to three days early, as well as the base game and the season pass. It better have some damn good stuff for the $109.99 price tag. This is something that hung up some gamers, while others are on something else right now because the main character is a woman. The previous Star Wars game featured a man, but something tells me everythings going to be just fine.

Get ready to explore a galaxy far far away that's full of opportunity. Dive into bustling cities and cantinas, and race across sprawling outdoor landscapes on your speeder. Each location holds new adventures, exciting challenges, and rewards that are totally tempting, if you're willing to take the risk.

You get to experience a totally original scoundrel story, living that high-stakes outlaw lifestyle. With Nix by your side, there's nothing you can't turn to your advantage. Fight with your blaster, outsmart your enemies with gadgets and stealth, or use the right moments to distract your attackers and take the upper hand.

Take on those high-risk, high-reward tasks from the galaxy's most notorious crime syndicates. Steal precious goods, infiltrate top-secret locations, and outwit your enemies, all while becoming the galaxy's most wanted. Every choice you make changes your ever-evolving reputation.

Are you ready to take to the stars? Buckle up and get behind the pilot seat of the Trailblazer, because we're about to engage in thrilling dogfights with the Empire and other foes. Chase, evade, and attack your enemies to get the upper hand.

So, what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars for August 30th, 2024, and get ready to jump aboard Star Wars Outlaws when it lands on PC, Playstation, and Xbox!

FTS: WWI FPS “Isonzo” Gets New Game Mode & DLC Today (PC, PS, Xbox)

WWI FPS Isonzo Climbs Even Greater Heights Today with Limited-Time Ascent Mode, Free Update & New DLC

PARIS  April 10, 2024 – BlackMill Games, the studio behind the WWI Game Series, today releases even more content for Isonzo, the authentic World War I FPS set on the Italian front. Climb to victory with the unique, limited-time Ascent game mode, a free update improving gameplay on consoles, and new DLC. Today also marks the release of Isonzo’s Ultimate Edition on PC, gathering all paid DLC in one bundle (coming soon to consoles).

Climb to victory with a new free mode: Ascent

Ascent is the first temporary mode for Isonzo and brings new climbing-based gameplay that has never been experienced in first-person shooters. Scale a sheer mountainside with only a pickaxe as bullets and rocks fly past in what might be the most daring way to assault an enemy position seen during the war! During each Ascent match, 32 players must battle it out to either hold their position on the mountain or conquer it. Earn your special event medal upon completion before it ends!

“As with our previous special events for the WW1 Game Series, such as the Verdun Christmas Truce event, Ascent stays true to our tradition of offering players a brand-new way to experience the conflicts of WWI, this time in the most extreme heights of the Italian Alps,” said BlackMill Games Founder Jos Hoebe.

Ascent is available until April 24 on Steam, PlayStation 5 & 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store.

Elevating Isonzo to higher levels on consoles

The console version of Isonzo has received a massive update with a range of quality-of-life improvements. Additionally, to enhance cross-platform and cross-gen compatibility in the console environment, voice chat has been added, meaning that soldiers on PlayStation and Xbox can now communicate by voice for the first time in the series!

Gear up for altitude!

When ascending to such heights in these conditions, it is important to gear up properly. For this exact reason, the "Altitude Units Pack" is being released alongside Ascent. This pack contains all kinds of clothing suitable for cold alpine warfare: fur-lined coats, fitting jackets, warm boots and even ski uniforms. There are also new headgear variants, mustaches, goggles, pipes and faces for both Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers.

Isonzo, the “Altitude Units Pack” DLC, and the game’s free update are now available on Steam, PlayStation 5 & 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store. The Ultimate Edition is available on Steam and the Epic Games Store now and will come to consoles at a later date. Get the game and its various DLC sets at up to 67% off for a limited time, and enjoy the Ascent mode for free until April 24!
