Are you ready for... Star Wars Outlaws?

Have you seen the trailer for Star Wars Outlaws? It's one of those games that I'm waiting for with bated breath. And as a lover of open-world adventures done right, the idea of exploring the Star Wars universe in a way its supposed to be set up is giving me goosebumps (fingers crossed). Blu is still hopeful for a co-op adventure with Star Wars Bad Batch, but perhaps that's next up. Anyway, check out the trailer for Star Wars Outlaws:

Now, let's talk editions. They have your standard version, of course, but you also have the limited and gold editions. The Limited Edition comes with the Rogue Infiltrator Character Pack, which includes ultra-cool cosmetic items for Kay and Nix. And the Gold Edition? It gets you access up to three days early, as well as the base game and the season pass. It better have some damn good stuff for the $109.99 price tag. This is something that hung up some gamers, while others are on something else right now because the main character is a woman. The previous Star Wars game featured a man, but something tells me everythings going to be just fine.

Get ready to explore a galaxy far far away that's full of opportunity. Dive into bustling cities and cantinas, and race across sprawling outdoor landscapes on your speeder. Each location holds new adventures, exciting challenges, and rewards that are totally tempting, if you're willing to take the risk.

You get to experience a totally original scoundrel story, living that high-stakes outlaw lifestyle. With Nix by your side, there's nothing you can't turn to your advantage. Fight with your blaster, outsmart your enemies with gadgets and stealth, or use the right moments to distract your attackers and take the upper hand.

Take on those high-risk, high-reward tasks from the galaxy's most notorious crime syndicates. Steal precious goods, infiltrate top-secret locations, and outwit your enemies, all while becoming the galaxy's most wanted. Every choice you make changes your ever-evolving reputation.

Are you ready to take to the stars? Buckle up and get behind the pilot seat of the Trailblazer, because we're about to engage in thrilling dogfights with the Empire and other foes. Chase, evade, and attack your enemies to get the upper hand.

So, what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars for August 30th, 2024, and get ready to jump aboard Star Wars Outlaws when it lands on PC, Playstation, and Xbox!

Galactic Empire: Special Edition... Reviewed!

As a music lover, I was thrilled to get the chance to review the Galactic Empire's Special Edition album. And as a huge fan of both Star Wars and metal, I was doubly excited for this strum-fest.

From the very first track, a rocker's remix of the 20th Century Fox Fanfare, I was excited. The opening guitar riff instantly transported me to a galaxy far, far away. And the pounding drums throughout the album kept my head banging the whole way through.

While I would have loved to have heard some vocals on the album, I think the overall presentation is still respectable and fitting for each theme. This is my first time listening to Galactic Empire, they're actually a heavy metal instrumental Star Wars cosplay band. How badass is that?

Star Wars and Revenge of the Sith could have easily been two separate tracks, but the way they flow from one to the next makes for one kickass 7-minute experience. This is the longest track at 7:30.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was my favorite track, it made me want to grab a lightsaber and attempt to reenact a battle. The Battle of Hoth was a close second – an energetic and exciting track that will definitely get your heart pumping in the gym or wake you up to finish your (school) work.

I listened to the Special Edition album using the iFi Audio GO link in conjunction with the Philips Audio 9500 HiFi Headphones.

The thumps of the drums made my ears dance, but it wouldn't be the same without the guitars driving the sound. For what it's worth, I'd give this album a 4.75 out of 5. They tried to deliver variety, and there is with the different themes, but I did find myself checking certain tracks to see if the playlist looped over.

Price-wise, I think $9.49 totally works for MP3. You can also get it on CD for $11.98, and Vinyl is $23.99. *Streaming options are also available.

Overall, this album is worth a listen for any Star Wars fan. It will make its official arrival to earth on May 5, 2023, and they're ready to take over your eardrums.

Track Variety: 4

Replay Value: 5

Quality Sound: 5

Cost: 5

4.75 out of 5 Cool Points!

EA wants to double down on Star Wars... is that a good thing?

As some of you know... EA executives spoke about how the company plans to double down on Star Wars after the huge success of select games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, during a "fireside chat". It may sound good in theory, and I won't say that it will result in failure, but... this is EA... so I do have a level of concern.

EA is no stranger to churning out games to a degree where the quality and creativity lacks. That's where my concern comes from. If doubling down means that... they need to pump their breaks, but... if it means that they're willing to double down on the development time to ensure that they release some of the best Star Wars related IPs ever, GodSpeed! Star Wars: Squadrons... looks like it could be a great game if it's not rushed. My fingers aren't crossed for them to fail, but they have to do the right thing to increase their chances of winning.

I don't mind the games being made (I'm a gamer), but quality over quantity. Even if you can release Madden games year after year... I don't even think that's a good idea. I've mentioned it before that they should honestly switch to releasing a full game every other year, and sell an updated roster pack in between releases. I think they would win more than they would lose with that setup... because there are Madden players who avoid buying the game every year since some feel like there is nothing new to enjoy other than an updated roster. So they put the game on pause... for a year or two (sometimes three), in order to experience something new.

Remember what happened when Battlefield was churned out? So even if making money is exciting for the big wigs... I think moderation should be their guide because you can definitely have too much of a good thing. EA executives are not making these games... it's the development team.

Speaking of the development, showing diversity in games is cool... but also make sure to increase the diversity in the development studios. That doesn't mean fire a bunch of people, but... make those opportunities accessible also to more Black applicants who make up just 1%  the industry.
