Tick Tock... E3 2016 is coming!

Before I get to the first bit of action, I just want to say that I have replaced Blu's... delicious fruit snacks with a huge box and have purchased my own! :p (NOM NOM NOM!) We have our icons ready to roll too.

Did you see the Intergalactic Super Gamer shirts? Those are by gamers (obviously) for gamers and... they are exclusive to the SDGTSHOP! So get a tee & keep it G (I think something cool is going to be popping off with ISG... so we shall see)! The shirt and product colors can be changed to tickle your fancy (and of course the colors you see here represent SDGT!).

E3 is literally this month! I just want to see a bunch of... awesome, I have no expectations (though it would've been super fantastic to see Nintendo NX but...). Speaking of Nintendo, they will be showing other things in addition to The Legend of Zelda.

Nintendo heads to E3 once again and brings the coverage directly to you with a two-day program from Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3! Tune in starting at 9 a.m. PT on June 14 for a day of live-streaming gameplay focused on The Legend of Zelda for Wii U and first live gameplay of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon that kicks off the program!

Day 2 of Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3 will showcase upcoming releases for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, including Monster Hunter GenerationsDragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE! Day 2 will start with a special Pokémon GO developer Q&A at 10 a.m. PT on June 15 at:

Roll Throughout Art History in Rock of Ages II: Bigger and Boulder

ACE Team, ATLUS (the game publisher), and Atlas (the Greek god) present the sequel to the hit strategic, rock-smashing, tower defense game!
IRVINE, Calif - June 2, 2016 - It's so gneiss to see you again! The genre-bending Rock of Ages - the part Tower Defense, part Racing, part Art History lesson, and all smashing game from ACE Team - returns with new gameplay, co-op and competitive modes, and more in Rock of Ages II: Bigger and Boulder, coming this fall to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as a digital title. In the game, players will explore the uniquely artistic worlds, and take turns in defensive and offensive roles in an attempt to smash open the enemy's castle and crush their dreams of ruling the world (by crushing their corporeal form). For the latest information on the game, you can roll on over to find the latest carvings on the official webstone at www.rockofages2.com
In Bigger and Boulder, Atlas, the Greek God of holding up really heavy things, needs some help recovering the celestial sphere that he might have misplaced. And he definitely needs your help, because all the rulers throughout historical eras are getting in his way; there's no time to gather moss - start smashing down gates! The conquerors in the game are each representative of their different periods of Art History, from Early Renaissance to Late Gothic, and are presented in the series' quirky, Pythonesque, cut-out animation style.
One of the major changes to the gameplay in Rock of Ages II is the emphasis on co-op and competitive play, where up to four players can strategically plan their victory by way of merciless destruction via boulder! There's also been a complete revamp of how resources are accrued in the game, so players will not just have to defend their own castles, but resource nodes as well!
Rock of Ages II: Bigger and Boulder features include:
  • Up to 4-person Multiplayer - A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, so that's why ACE Team decided to up the gate-smashing stakes by beefing up the multiplayer features of the game. Play with up to four players online in a 2v2 match to the crushing death with the ability to customize banners and colors for your "units." Plus, the tracks now intersect, so you can knock the enemy rocks to get an advantage!
  • Utter Chaos - Expanding on the first game with a more diverse selection of units and a larger focus on rock-smashing strategy inBigger and Boulder, chaos reigns supreme! Just don't take each turn for granite!
  • Improved Physics and Destructible Environments - Developed in Unreal Engine 4, Rock of Ages II has upgraded physics and even more things to be cracked, crushed, flattened, and slammed. It's the most fun you can have rolling rocks down a big hill!
  • ACE Team's Trademark Quirkiness - With humor is turned up to 11, players will literally rock and roll through the ages. Famous historical figures beware!
Rock of Ages II: Bigger and Boulder will roll into digital stores this fall for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One! The best part? Go hands-on with Rock of Ages II: Bigger and Boulder in the ATLUS booth at E3! The game is not yet rated by the ESRB, with pricing details to come later. but check out the latest info carved into the Bigger and Boulder official webstone www.rockofages2.com or the ACE Team Steam Community www.steamcommunity.com/groups/aceteam

There are Cyborgs in the Pyramid – Go Get ‘Em in the New Warface Special Operation, Anubis

Blow up a sub, neutralize a missile base, and destroy a secret cyborg factory in the latest Special Operation to launch on Crytek’s free online shooter

Crytek is taking Warface gamers to fictional east Africa.

Frankfurt am Main (Germany) June 2, 2016 – A futuristic threat is buried within an ancient pyramid in Anubis, the expansive new Special Operation coming to Crytek’s free-to-play online shooter, Warface, today.
Anubis – named after the god of death himself – is an epic three stage co-op mission set in Eastern Africa, where players must battle hard, smart, and as a team. Gamers must work through a network of bases, culminating in an assault on a pyramid, to disrupt Blackwood’s villainous operations.
The action comes thick and fast from the moment the team is inserted into the landing zone, where enemies are at the gate of a missile facility. After infiltrating the complex and disabling the control room, defended by deadly automatic turrets, players must repel assaults from all sides as they battle through a canyon to reach a heavily fortified dry dock. Then it’s time to blow up a Blackwood submarine. Once this objective is completed, players take the fight to the heart of Anubis’ pyramid which houses a clandestine cyborg factory. Gamers must disable the facility and then survive waves of relentless attacks as a sandstorm engulfs the battlefield before extraction.
The new Special Operation’s three diverse stages require players to combine the strengths of the game’s four different classes to take on and eliminate a wide range of enemies. Gamers must adapt their tactics for each stage, from clearing out buildings at close-quarters to holding a defensive line in the face of marauding cyborgs, if they are to complete this action-packed new mission.
Anubis is the latest co-op Special Operation to launch for Warface. New maps, missions, weapons, items, weapon skins, and challenges are regularly added to the game as Warface evolves to serve its ever-growing community.
Watch the new trailer for Special Operation Anubis now at www.youtube.com/warfacegame and sign up to play Warface for free at www.warface.com.

Square-Enix News + E3 action: Full-Scale Final Fantasy game... made for Mobile!

Square Enix
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius? Yep, and it looks... quite promising. I'd love to play Final Fantasy 8 again too, recreated for mobile, but (but... but) i'd also love to have a full remake for PC & Consoles also (after FF7 of course). That's the beauty of some games, they are so awesome they can be brought back in an all new way.
Even ones that I absolutely could NOT stand (like the old Tomb Raider 1 & 2 for PS1) can be brought back in awesome fashion.

The new Tomb Raider is just worlds better... for me, but I give props to the original because if that never existed... what we have now may never have existed either. Anyway, check out this video from Square-Enix for FFBE... which is coming our way this summer. (I can feel the heat already, lemonade please!)

Square-Enix reports that the game will feature turn-based gameplay (which I enjoy as a fan of RPGs!), with streamlined battle mechanics and intuitive touch controls so that its easier to pick up for newbies and seasoned fans alike. I still prefer controller and even mouse & keyboard over touch screen for most games, but... we've been doing a lot of gaming. :p

Anyway, they also list that players will be able to movie their characters through fields and dungeons to search for things like items, hidden paths, and... basically what i've come to expect from an RPG, which i'm glad is being incorporated into this game. I love venturing to different areas... except for when i'm low on health and happen to stumble across one of those rare monsters that can END YOU with one attack. MOMMA NO!

I can't wait to see the high-quality cg animations for the summons, and even the appearances of various new and old characters from games like the Warrior of Light from my friggin phone. There are other great games on mobile, but I really want to dig into this and indulge in some Final Fantasy action that doesn't require me to sit in front of the telly or the PC. It will allow me to be mobile when I get my hands on Blu's gummy snacks. If you read this... I am only kidding. hehehe

You can pre-register for the game at FinalFantasyExvius.com to receive special in-game items at launch... and this game will also be playable at E3 (in the Square-Enix booth ofcourse) compliments of Square-Enix and... Gumi Inc (the developers of Brave Frontier) from June 14th - 16th (2016).

All Zelda action in this one... Win a Trip to E3 + Zelda in the Hall of Fame + JackaJax2Cents

Nintendo’s kickoff to the E3 show happens at 9 a.m. PT Tuesday, June 14, when Nintendo of America Pr ...
(Graphic: Business Wire)
As you know Nintendo will be presenting The Legend of Zelda-only at this E3 (from what we were told)... bringing it to both E3 goers (who wish to play the game) as well as those who can't make it or would rather avoid the crowd and stream it via: http://e3.nintendo.com

Reggie Fils-Aime will be kicking off Nintendo Treehouse: Live... which will begin on June 14th (2016) @ 9am PT, so stay tuned.

If you really really really (like seriously) want to go to E3 this year to get in on the Zelda action... Nintendo is giving you the chance to win such a trip. Can I get an "Oh Snap!"? (Info on how to enter... is listed below.) Nintendo claims that the day will be dedicated to live streaming... but I won't believe it until I see it (perhaps a surprise will be tucked in there somewhere). The stream will include game coverage and behind-the-scenes stuff... fun'd up.

LogoSeries Producer Eiji Aonuma has said that this new installment in The Legend of Zelda franchise will be a clean break from the conventions of previous games, removing boundaries that forced players to follow a set path and introducing new gameplay that has not been experienced in previous games in the series.
Just hearing that excites me more, and I feel confident that it won't be like Skyrim, though inspiration was gained from such games. I'm not saying that in a negative way, i'm more so saying that i'm good with the new and not the cloned... period.
While people everywhere will be able to watch The Legend of Zelda gameplay online, one lucky fan and a companion will be flown to Los Angeles to enjoy the action in person and be among the first to play the game on the show floor. Between now and May 10, Nintendo is offering a sweepstakes on Twitter for a chance to win a trip for two to E3 to play the game. Anyone who tweets @NintendoAmerica a note about what The Legend of Zelda series means to them while using the hashtags #MyZeldaLegend and #NintendoSweepstakes will be entered for a chance to win. Fans can share messages about their favorite games, characters or memories of the franchise. Nintendo will select a winner at random. The prize package includes airfare for two, a hotel stay, tickets to E3, a $500 prepaid VISA debit card. For all the details about the sweepstakes, visit http://e3.nintendo.com/#section-sweepstakes.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Open to legal residents of the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec), age 18 or older. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. Sweepstakes closes 5 p.m. PT May 10, 2016. Math skill test question required for Canadian residents. Limit one entry per person. 1 prize winner will be selected at random to receive one (1) trip package that includes: two (2) round trip tickets or ground transportation to Los Angeles, CA, four (4) nights lodging, two (2) passes to E3 and $500 Prepaid VISA Debit Card (ARV $4,190). Sponsor is Nintendo, not Twitter. See Official Rules at http://e3.nintendo.com/sweepstakes-rules for more details.

Okay sooo... based on the news of The Legend of Zelda being inducted into the World Video Game's Hall of Fame, I can't help but wonder "Why did it take so long?" (oh wait, it's a new thing).

Here is the short list of Hall of Fame inductees:

The Oregon Trail - 2016 < The title of this game looks extremely funny to me (how times have changed). Looks like it belongs to a record called "Grandpappy's Favorite Sing-alongs" or something.
What game(s) would you like for us to nominate?

By the way... stay tuned, because JackaJax2Cents on Nintendo's E3 approach will also be listed in this post.

Updates from Nintendo... which include no NX at E3 2016! Momma no!

No NX at this years E3? #%*!

Yesterday our bubble was popped... because Nintendo's update included that there will be no Nintendo NX action at E3. If they are going to skip one of the biggest gaming expos... there better be a good reason and they'd better come out with guns blazing for will be presented.

When it comes to the NX itself, its coming March of 2017... which is cool and we have something to look forward to beyond E3 2016 by way of Nintendo Direct... but they have to seriously think about their approach this time around. If they desire those PS4 numbers, the system is going to have to be awesome and centered around gaming for all. It was centered around gaming for people of all ages... but it was hard to tell based on the delivery a good chunk of the time (as well as placing multiple games in a category listed as "Games for Kids" or some crap... if you're a frequent reader of our posts then this should ring a bell because it was an annoying "WTF" moment).

I don't want to see any company fail, especially if it means more options for us as gamers... so I wish them the best in hopes that they play their Pokemon cards right! :p
On the flip side of the NX not being at E3 this year, I can see that being something done to avoid the system being picked apart in a negative way without them explaining it well on their on terms (they just have to explain themselves well... because they hold the cards). Also I could see them trying to get the remaining life out of the Wii U before the focus shifts.

From what we know, The Legend of Zelda will be released simultaneously for the Wii U and NX game systems... and will be one of the only (if not the only) game Nintendo showcases at E3 this year based the information provided. The Wii U version will be playable. Check out the information from Nintendo below.

Nintendo changes its approach to the show every year. This June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming game in The Legend of Zelda franchise. The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion. Additional information about Nintendo’s E3 plans will be announced in the future. - Nintendo | REDMOND, Wash., April 27, 2016

Though we'd love to see more... as long as the attention is going towards good things, its fine with me and almost feels like something 3rd party developers do. 3rd party developers don't always show up at E3 with multiple games to play... some only have one in hopes that it gets enough love to be successful. Let's see how this goes.

By the way, Nintendo is also celebrating over 10 million downloads of Miitomo starting tomorrow April 29th - May 8, 2016. While I am on the subject of... Miitomo, something i'd love for Nintendo to do is to allow us to connect with people through Google+ also (the app is on Android, so... it kind of makes sense). Even the ability to connect with your phone book would be cool because you're using the app on your phone, but that's just me and multiple people who are still wondering around digitally with no one to talk to.

Nintendo didn't only drop that bit of news... they lit things back up with the mention of their next mobile apps, which are for Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing. The plan is for a fall release on both of these games. They want to make Fire Emblem more accessible by delivering a mobile experience, while Animal Crossing sounds like it will allow you to play on mobile and console. Nintendo will obviously deliver more info about these apps as fall approaches, but they could be planning even more apps moving forward as they aim to have multiple types of "...apps that appeal to different audiences and different groups of players". I hope this translates over to the NX.

Fun fact: Did you know that Nintendo of America owns a percentage of the Seattle Mariners? Although yesterday they mentioned that they are selling the majority, they are maintaining 10%.

I'll end this post with some StarFox Zero animated short action... and if you remember the previous games (especially Star Fox 64), you'll probably enjoy SFZ. Its a blast from the past... but its new at the same time. An all-new Star Fox adventure should be released on the NX going even deeper in depth with visuals, story and action.
We're heading out... all aircraft report!
