Get Ready for a Category V Event as Pacific Rim Pinball Hits Pinball FX

Are you ready for some more Pinball FX action? Well, stay tuned because Pacific Rim Pinball lands on Pinball FX on May 16th!

The team says that you "Play through all the excitement of the first Pacific Rim movie and use your pinball skills to strengthen the link between Raleigh and Mako while resisting the double event of Leatherback and Otachi." I haven't seen the movie ever, but it's all good.  They go on to say that, "if you can get the ball to the bumpers you may even drift with the Kaiju! Wield those flippers well and you might even overload the reactor of Gipsy Danger and seal the Breach once and for all."

“The scale and the stakes are always big in Legendary Entertainment’s franchises,” said Mel Kirk, COO of Zen Studios. “Translating the epic action of the film into the confines of a pinball cabinet proved quite the challenge" (according to the COO), and Mel actually said that the chance of failing with this table... which makes me wonder why. Did they push it to the limit as far as features in a table go? It's a game so you can do whatever, but... if they're simulating pinball they have to keep the table in mind.

Pacific Rim Pinball becomes available May 16 for Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Fisker Ocean Extreme for... $24,000 Off?! Yep, but is it Worth the Risk?

When it comes to electric vehicles, Tesla has long been the dominant force, but even it isn’t immune to challenges. From declining sales and increased competition to delayed product launches and polarizing brand perception, Tesla is facing major hurdles. If a company as established as Tesla is struggling, what does that mean for Fisker, an EV startup that has already filed for bankruptcy and left customers stranded? The main website isn't even accessible anymore, it's just a dealership location.

Deep Discounts... But at What Cost? Fisker has slashed prices on its Ocean SUV models, with some dropping by $24,000, making them among the cheapest new EVs available. While this might seem like an incredible deal, the reality is far more complicated. Fisker’s financial instability raises serious concerns about warranty support, parts availability, and long-term viability.

Major Complaints & Risks Fisker vehicles have been plagued by mechanical and software issues, including:

  • Rollaway risks – Some Ocean SUVs were investigated for failing to shift into park, leading to injuries.

  • Braking failures – Complaints of sudden loss of braking performance and inadvertent emergency braking.

  • Abandoned vehicles – Fisker’s bankruptcy left dealers dumping unsold Ocean SUVs on the side of the road, with owners struggling to find support or spare parts.

Better Alternatives at Similar Price Points Instead of gambling on Fisker, buyers can look at more reputable brands that offer strong reliability, better resale value, and long-term support. Some notable options include:

  • Honda – Known for dependability and resale value, with solid hybrid and gas-powered options.

  • Toyota – A leader in hybrid technology, offering affordable and reliable vehicles.

  • Mazda & Subaru – Highly rated for customer satisfaction and safety.

Is Gasoline Still an Option? While EVs are said to be the future, gasoline-powered vehicles offer affordability and reliability without the uncertainty of a struggling EV startup. So it's something Fisker may want to consider if they want to try and turn things around.

Final Verdict Fisker’s discounted prices might look tempting, but the lack of stability, unresolved complaints, and bankruptcy issues make it a high-risk purchase. If you’re looking for a long-term investment, it’s smarter to go with brands that have proven reliability and strong support networks... because the cheap can come out quite expensive (when they're heavily discounted for a reason). Personally, I'm a big fan of the Hyundai Kona, but... drive what works for you!
