Who is Shantae?

Shantae is a half-genie from a magical place known as... Sequin Land. This land was formerly protected by Guardian Genies who kept it at peace for years. The Genies and humans began to get to know each other a bit better, one thing led to another and... (well) that's how Shantae was born.

Shantae's home is none other than an abandoned lighthouse... which is located in a small fishing village called, Scuttle Town. She was appointed as the Guardian Genie of this location. Her abilities vary... allowing you to transform into other forms (like animals).

There were also other half genies with limited powers... but the franchise revolves around the ever adventurous + super upbeat Shantae, who should really have her own anime series on a streaming service or something by now (I'm talking to you WayForward). The content is there to keep her going on one adventure after another. The games (seen below) can have seasons that revolve around the adventures seen in them, movies are another option based on the games or an original adventures.

Anyway, Shantae takes on characters such as Pirate Queen Risky Boots and her pirate crew, the Tinkerbats. "Risky & the Tinkerbats"... sounds like a rockband, don't you think? Risky's a regular in the franchise, so get used to seeing her... among others. The interaction between the characters is usually chock full of comedic value... which I thoroughly enjoy, so i'd be curious to see what they could come up with.

I won't get into the details of the each titles... but if you decide to jump into the games this hopefully gives you an idea of the main character. Game on!
