Blast from the Past: Playing Old Games!
I've done a lot more posts as of late, but I've been offline more just playing old school games. Dude, there are so many games in existence, and they aren't just old. Tons of great games being released right now will be added to that group of old games, they'll be just as good in a few years or a few decades.
My freaking granddad was playing Super Mario Bros 3, and its still fun. I don't have all the money in the world, but I don't need it all to afford a blast from the past. I bet SMB3 would get new unit sales if they redid all the art to look like, Paper Mario.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is still going to be badass, but the newness will be gone. I was telling the guys that watching trailers of old games, made me get excited about the old games I never played. Try it out and sike yourself up for the games you saved money on. Bayonetta is still sweet, and some games get those high res texture pack updates.
I tried to find some of the old arcade games I played as a kid, but I don't remember all the names. I guess I've been online at some point doing searches of old arcade games, but some of the games are dead and gone.
A bonus about modern games being downloadable is the ability to have the game stored somewhere so that it isn't just gone. Just dropping straight facts, there are a lot of games released within the last decade that aren't as good when they're initially released. You have to wait for the games to get better with patches, and some of the games aren't even completed when you buy them.
So companies that play that game, don't make buying new any better than buying used. Buying an older game with all the patches and DLC in place for less is just better, to me. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is $12 right now.
"This isn't true for all games... because online games don't have the luxury of having an eternal audience. Single player will be the same single player game, in addition to couch co-ops." - Blu

As Rome’s power extended to the Greek colonies in Southern Italy, it was forced to do battle with one of the great generals of the classical world. But nothing was guaranteed. Can you change the course of history in Imperator: Rome?
