Dryel Update Number 4!

What can I possibly write about in this fourth post about Dryel? How my clothes are holding up... of course. I've been using the Dryel product since early 2018, and it has allowed me to cut down on time, save money, plus a chore. One thing I can't forget though is the fabric care. My shirts and jeans haven't shrunk (no surprise pairs of skinny jeans here). Oh yeah... and they haven't faded either. I stick to compatible fabrics that work with Dryel, so I can't speak for the other ones but mine are good to go.

I'm nearly a year in using the product, but it's just dry cleaning using the product in a dryer... so I didn't expect it to give a different result... but it is cool. Winter's knocking at the door, and I live in Orlando (Florida) so... who knows what the weather will be. I'm glad it won't be as cold as northern locations but... I tossed a few sweaters and a jacket in the Dryel bag to be fresh and on standby. Nothing happened to them either... so as we near the close of 2018 I've used Dryel for a year and my fabrics haven't faded, shrunk, stretched (which would be weird) or anything crazy. So... it continues to get two thumbs up from me, and I've literally been able to post a lot more for SDGT as a result.

So if you're looking for an alternative to dry cleaning and laundry duty... check out Dryel for yourself.

Dryel Update Number 3!

I've been using Dryel for months now... and the savings stand out big time. Not going to the dry cleaners is already a plus... that's fantastic in itself, but the savings add up too. I can't go on without mentioning the task of going to the cleaners (broken record)... because I tend to be busy, and I don't like running over there to grab clothing or getting so wrapped up in work or life in general that I forget to pick up clothing. I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before, but I just appreciate it. Delivery is cool, but it doesn't beat 15 to 30 minutes in the dryer at a fraction of the cost. Delivery costs... and I can't just accept it and not tip, so then that's even more out of pocket.

There are still certain items I would take to the dry cleaners... because this product doesn't cover every single fabric type, but there is NO WAY I'd go over there now unless I have to. Shirts and pants aren't going over there for sure... and I love that because that's what I wear the majority of the time (not the rare fabrics). The Dryel starter kit alone can cover 20 items... and the refill can cover 40 items. If I took a polo shirt or a pair of pants in a specific dry cleaning business (I won't name names)... I'm looking at $5.25, which doesn't cover the times I need that pair of pants or a shirt.

Recently, I had a blueberry stain on my polo out of nowhere (hmmm... Clementine may have had something to do with that), and we had to leave in less than an hour. Dryel shaved down on the time of changing shirts, and I was out the door in time for food + dessert and of course... FUN! That was the same day I received Silver the Hedgehog, for those of you who follow us on social media.

20 items is $105 in Drycleaning?!
Doing the math without adding gas and time... that's (wait for iiiittttt) $105! Multiply that by two when compared to the refill. If you're already gaming on a budget, like many others... shedding a light on where the money is actually going can help.

$105 can buy a Dryel starter kit + A tank full of gasoline/petrol in a mid-sized car + a AAA game + fast Food & Drink... with a few bucks left over. So which route am I taking? Now I won't say that I'm going over and dropping that on 20 items at the dry cleaners at one time (never have)... but if the math is left undone, you never know what it could add up to on a monthly or even yearly basis. I know people that go to the dry cleaners on the weekends to have work attire done for the upcoming week. It's like clockwork and these are full suits... so it would serve them good to at least consider a change on all safe fabrics. So far I haven't gone over in 2018... but I do have a coat I may take over depending on where we travel during the holidays. Maybe.

Anyway, this is my 3rd update... Dryel has helped save money and I appreciate that... along with the huge plus of not going over there. The reason I keep on mentioning the drive over... is because... there is a horrible turn where the closest cleaners is located, and I freaking hate it... the road is packed and its hard to get someone to let you get by + bad drivers. So this should give you a better understanding of where I'm coming from.

By the way... we also got the hookup from the makers of Dryel. This should come in handy.

Dryel Update Number 2!

I've been using Dryel for months now and... nothing has changed as far as the product is concerned (still going strong). It still eliminates the need of running to the dry cleaners, and running a full wash... so I can wear what I want when I want. I can say it adds a bit more freedom... almost to a degree that I can be spoiled by a product. I have a particular set of shirts that I like to wear... so Dryel has been on deck so that they're clean and fresh for the week. This could work well for people with company uniforms.

I remember working for a pizza shop, which was pretty fun actually, nearly everyone gamed (I think PS2 was the console then). The only downside was the constant washing of the uniform so that I wasn't stuck with dingy looking threads after sweating them out the day before. We only had 2 or 3 shirts max and the head manager would have a... cow over spilled milk (think about that for a second), so we had to be on our A-Game. I didn't mind, but the constant washing... sucked royally. Two of my friends also worked at pizza shops (3 totally different shops), so we tried to coordinate laundry days so that we could play Phantasy Star Universe together.

I really enjoy not having to do a full load of laundry (constantly... you have no idea), and yes... I switch up the clothes I wear, I've just been doing less laundry because the time is short. The load of laundry that sucks the most is that last minute load that never seems to dry... until you no longer need the clothing, but with Dryel it helps me flow better. I'm going to see how this one particular shirt looks at the end of the year using only Dryel... which should be interesting. Looking good so far.

Unboxing and using... DRYEL for the 1st time!

Time for another unboxing... that sort of reveals itself before I even open the package, but... let's dive in any way.

You may have noticed the recent addition to the site representing us as an official ambassador for Dryel... so it only makes sense to tell you what Dryel is.

Dryel is a product line that allows you to dry clean from home using the products in combination with your dryer. As an ambassador, we were able to get the hook up on a year's supply of Dryel... which consists of 3 starter kits and 1 refill (seen here).

By the way, I think it was a pretty cool design decision to make the boxes look like dryers.

The STARTER kit contains:

4 dryer activated cleaning cloths

A reusable fabric protection bag (patented to harness steam)

A stain pen (Safe for your dry clean only clothes)

and an Odor & Wrinkle Releaser (which speaks for itself)

While the REFILL kit contains:

8 of the dryer activated cleaning cloths

A stain pen

and an Odor & Wrinkle Releaser

By the way... for those of you who care, this product is environmentally friendly... containing no phosphate, perc or trichloroethylene (try saying that 3 times fast).

Also, for those of you wondering if it's complicated to use, here's a video to show you that it's quite easy to use, works with all sorts of material (excluding leather, velvet, fur, silk or rayon) and you're saving some serious money. You don't have to be the person with 100 suits in their closet to find worth in this product because it works and maintains the quality of your favorite tees, jeans, and so forth without the need of running to the dry cleaners or doing a full wash. That's the major plus to me because I don't want to go anywhere I don't have to go or don't wish to go and... I don't like being in those situations with clothing that requires dry cleaning and my fingers are crossed hoping that it will survive in the wash. I liked the way my clothing smelled afterward too and since tomorrow's going to be a busy one with no time to wash tonight... my jeans are getting the Dryel treatment (just because).

Indie clothing brands can also benefit from a product like this to keep items fresh without risking the quality of the limited quantity tees taking a hit. I speak a few words in this video, but its mainly so that you can see for yourself how simple it is to use and that it worked for me.
