Creature Keeper: A Call to Arms for Aspiring Monster Catchers + Heroes!

Prepare yourself, hero... because Creature Keeper is here to test your mettle. This pixel-perfect adventure brilliantly blends Zelda-style hack-and-slash combat with the addictive creature-collecting theme of Pokémon, creating a world where strategy, bravery, and well-timed sword swings reign supreme!

Fans of classic action RPGs will find themselves right at home, wielding an arsenal of weapons and charged attacks against formidable foes. But the twist is you’re not battling alone! Your hand-picked creatures fight alongside you, forming an unbreakable bond through training, exploration, and shared victories. And trust me, after a few hours of commanding your beastly battalion, you might even start naming them like they’re part of the family. I named my bat... Bruce! It just feels right.

Beyond combat, Creature Keeper offers creature management, a gardening system to cultivate stat-boosting food on the go with your pocket garden, and environmental puzzles that challenge both your reflexes and your wits. I didn't include this in the gameplay but... take a good look at this screenshot. There are different environmental puzzles that will challenge you, but when you figure them out... you'll be happy you did.

This shield can defend and attack! Hyaaaa!!!!!!

The game’s pixel art aesthetic paints an enchanting world that doesn't lcok the design of the world into a grid the same some games are when made with certain game makers. It's no shade... it's no shade, but you can see more freedom of movement with the animated sprites. The soundtrack pulls you in with adventerous rhythms and adds to the fun!

The controls? Effortlessly smooth... so smooth and simple that, before you know it, you’ll be slicing through enemies, mastering team tactics, and setting your sights on the biggest, baddest boss creatures standing in your way.

Heroes don’t want to just wander aimlessly when they're hot on the trail of accomplishing their mission, so keep an eye on the map so that you don't get lost! Build alliances with mighty creatures, and forge legends that echo through time. So, adventurer, the question isn’t whether you’ll answer the call of Creature Keeper.

It’s how soon you’ll begin your journey. The wonderland is waiting... what’s your move? If you were wondering what the price was... it's $14.99, and it's worth the money. Not just because it's inexpensive, but because it's fun. Oh, did I forget to mention that the game was confirmed for the Switch at a later date? I thought about the Switch as soon as I played this one, so that's perfect. In the mean time, you can grab the game on Epic Games + Steam... which means you can play it on the Steam Deck. So you can grab a bite to eat while on your adventure. Now if you'll excuse me, it's lunch time (BABY!). Pizza and fruit punch are calling my name!

🔥 Capcom Fighting Collection 2 + Well Deserved Remakes! 🎮

With Capcom Fighting Collection 2 headed our way, packed with classics like Capcom vs SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 PRO, Capcom vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein, I can’t help but think about franchises that deserve remakes again.

Yeah, again... because they deserve it.

Capcom needs to bring back Rival Schools, Capcom vs SNK, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Power Stone, and Darkstalkers. I'm talking full blown remakes! Oh, and let's not forget Pocket Fighter... I’d love to see it leveled up in a way that's truly undeniable. (So many ideas come to mind, but... I won't dive into that.) Anyway, back to Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

💥 What’s in the Collection?

  • Online gameplay for all titles, featuring rollback netcode for a strong and stable online experience.

  • Training Bag mode across all games, helping you sharpen combos and level up your game.

  • Expanded language support and a gallery packed with official and concept art, design docs, and unseen content (Capcom art fans, this is your goldmine).

  • Customization features, including EX settings, Display Filters, button customizations, and more for each title.

  • Physical edition bonus – a Udon mini Capcom vs SNK comic, while supplies last. That’s gonna be a collector’s item, especially if copies are limited.

Funny to get this on the heels of SNK's Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, but hey... that's real life Capcom vs SNK competition for ya.

Whether you’re a fighting game vet or a casual player, this collection is stacked with nostalgia, competition, and pure fun. By the way, don't forget to grab a fight stick if you prefer that arcade feel!

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour: A Price That’s Easier to Digest

When the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour was first revealed, there was a fair bit of debate surrounding it being for sale. A tech demo designed to showcase the console’s innovative features, made it easy to assume that the title would be bundled with the system, but it's not. The price point wasn't revealed in that Nintendo direct, leaving us to believe that it would come at a significantly higher price than what was ultimately announced. So the previous article discussing the game operated under the assumption that it would be a costly addition—a move that felt wrong. However, with the confirmed $9.99 price tag, the discussion has shifted from frustration to a shrug.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour may not be free, but at $9.99, it’s certainly a far cry from a full-priced title. While some still argue that bundling it with the console would have been a smarter move—the price point makes it much more accessible. Instead of feeling like an overpriced marketing ploy, its an affordable marketing ploy that delivers a small but interactive way for players to get acquainted with the system’s new technology. Funny what a price tag can do.

What’s Included?

Unlike traditional tech demos, the Welcome Tour presents itself as an interactive exhibition. Players can walk through virtual halls shaped like a Nintendo Switch 2, exploring exhibits dedicated to the console’s advancements. Features like mouse controls, improved gyroscopic motion controls, HD rumble 2, and Joy-Con 2’s magnetic connectors are highlighted, allowing players to experience them in unique ways and helps prepare you for what's to come. By the way, if we're able to use the Joy-Con 2 as a mouse—can we expect a potential soft or hard keyboard attachment to connect? This would make sense if internet access is possible on the NS2. There are also mini-games scattered throughout, reinforcing the idea that this is more than just a glorified tutorial—so at least it’s an entertaining, hands-on introduction. We believe it should pull in significant number of sales at $9.99.

Is It Worth It?

While many still argue that the Welcome Tour should be free, $9.99 is a much more digestible price tag than what was previously feared. So, yeah it's worth it. Of course, the true test will be whether it successfully bridges the gap between demonstration and meaningful gameplay. Nintendo surely has surprises tucked inside. At this price point, don't expect a mind blowing masterpiece, but rather an engaging walkthrough—and then some.

Whether you see it as a must-have introduction or a novelty item, the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is now available for pre-order. If the prospect of diving into an interactive tour of the Switch 2’s tech intrigues you, it might just be worth the small investment. It will certainly come at a lower cost than some of the higher priced $79.99 titles. That's a different story in itself, luckily you will find games at various price points below.
