Start with a relaxing morning routine (wake up earlier to get a breather before the bell). + Meditate or do some deep breathing exercises. Get in a good breakfast + grab free drinks for the next two months from Panera for no $0.00!
Incorporate short breaks to stretch and have a snack. You know I'm game for that. Oh yeah... if you use part of a 15 minute break to eat some of your lunch, then a portion of your lunch time can be used to take a walk, listen to some music, or watch something funny to boost your mood!
Increase the comfort of your workspace and add a pop of fun! If you sit in a chair that sucks, it decreases your patience. You're already dealing with discomfort weighing on your back and other areas of your body, so your workload or an annoying co-worker or customer won't help. Adding some padding and support in the right areas will make things go a lot smoother. If you've ever sat on the bleachers... you know exactly what i'm talking about. My neck and my back hurt just thinking about it. If you're constantly on your feet, your shoes are a major factor. Stand with comfort!
Plan a fun activity after work. It can be something small, but it can help you get your mind off of work and make the rest of the day easier than if you were to walk in the door steaming mad. This is easier said than done, but it helps to do something to start the shift.
If you're allowed to, play background music, a podcast or both at different parts of your workday... this will totally help. There are many to choose from, including the Blu + You Podcast, Club Shay Shay, and many others. Comedy albums are also available! Have the best week ever!
