Debuted today at Sony’s State of Play, Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered modernizes the iconic 2003 action-adventure game with new graphic upgrades, modernized controls, and extensive bonus content. Published by Crystal Dynamics and developed by Crystal Dynamics and PlayEveryWare, this definitive edition of the classic adventure launches for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 3, 2026, and is available to pre-order today. Also announced today is Legacy of Kain: Ascendance, a fast-paced 2D action platformer published by Crystal Dynamics and developed by Bit Bot Media in association with FreakZone Games (A Bit Bot Company) that introduces a brand-new gameplay style to the franchise, and features original voice actors reprising their iconic roles: Simon Templeman as Kain, Michael Bell as Raziel, Anna Gunn as Ariel and Richard Doyle as Moebius, plus a soundtrack from hit recording artist Klayton (Celldweller), releasing for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 31, 2026.

Escape from Duckov is a deceptively deep top-down PvE looter-shooter where survival, strategy, and a little quacky charm collide. What looks like a lighthearted duck adventure quickly reveals itself as a tense, addictive journey of exploration, base-building, and high-stakes retrieval missions.

 A First Look at Duckov 

At first glance, Escape from Duckov might make you smile with its waddling protagonist, but don’t be fooled—this game is as much about grit as it is about giggles. You’re dropped into a hostile world where every step forward is a gamble. The goal? Push further into the unknown, gather resources, and ultimately find your way out of Duckov. But here’s the catch: if you’re taken out, your gear stays where you fell. To reclaim it, you’ll have to brave that same area again.

 Don’t Miss The Early Perk 

Before your initial extraction, the game throws you a beneficial curveball: An early perk hidden in the starting area. Miss it, and you won’t be able to return... so do as you see in 12:36 of the gameplay above. This will give you that initial boost—that can make the difference between surviving with even more oomph or becoming duck soup.

 Hours of Exploration, Day or Night 

The loop is dangerously addictive. You’ll find yourself venturing out “just one more time,” whether it’s broad daylight or the dead of night. But beware: nighttime in Duckov isn’t just darker—it’s deadlier. Enemies become more aggressive, and visibility drops, making every step a risk. You will see unfamiliar enemies at night too.

Tip: If the threats of the night are too much for you and you're far away from the base, find a building and hunker down until daylight. Don't run out immediately because the things that caused the bumps in the night have to go away and won't just disappear. Take time in between your objectives to listen for footsteps that don't belong to you or your dog. So beware, a calm scavenging run can spiral into chaos.

 Strategy Beyond Shooting 

This isn’t just about blasting enemies. You’ll need to manage stamina, supplies, ammo, melee weapons, medicine, food, and beverages. Every expedition is a balancing act between risk and reward. After a few runs, you should get the hang of this and how to prepare for future runs while avoiding rookie mistakes.

 Building, Upgrading, and Customizing 

Back at your base, the game opens up even further. You can:

• Build and expand your base for safety and crafting.
• Recruit and strengthen your team to tackle tougher missions.
• Upgrade totems that enhance your abilities.
• Develop skills across multiple categories.
• Customize your duck to reflect your own quirky style.
