HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush Opens Up the Toy Box

Hot Wheels games usually come with a few guarantees. Orange tracks, ridiculous jumps, and cars doing things that would concern an insurance company.

HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush has all of that and a track builder, but this time Milestone has opened the track into a freely explorable world.

Milestone described it simply:

“For the first time, you will be able to freely explore a Hot Wheels-sized world.”

That is the biggest change here, as seen in this first 30 minutes of gameplay:

 Four Islands to Explore

Players can drive across Wheelswood, Tentacle Bay, Gearville, and Drifty Temples, taking on races, challenges, collectibles, and other activities along the way.

Each island also has a Rush Master to defeat as you progress. So yes, you can wander around.

Eventually, someone still expects you to race.

 More Than 150 Cars

Infinite Rush launches with more than 150 vehicles split between four classes: Versatiles, Drifters, Speeders, and Titans.

Players can build a Rush Squad around those classes and switch vehicles depending on the challenge or collect everything because an empty garage space bothers you isn't as cool.

 Multiplayer Included

Infinite Rush supports online multiplayer, cross-play (excluding Switch 2), and four-player local split-screen. The split-screen support is especially welcome.

Pick cars, race, lose, explain why the controller was clearly malfunctioning and win the next race. Classic multiplayer.

 Formula 1 Is Coming

Milestone already has additional vehicles planned, but one upcoming pack stands out.

In March 2027, the F1 Car Collection Pack will add all 22 cars representing the 11 teams from the 2026 Formula 1 grid.

Formula 1 says this will be the first time F1 cars have been playable in a Hot Wheels game.

Formula 1 Chief Commercial Officer Emily Prazer said:

“This latest move gives them the opportunity to race their favorite driver’s car.”

Now you'll also be able to launch that driver's car off an orange track. Progress.

A Better Fit for Hot Wheels

The open-world direction makes sense because Hot Wheels was never only about racing.

It was about taking cars, building something ridiculous, and deciding that basically everything nearby was part of the track.

Infinite Rush brings more of that freedom into the game. The signature orange track is still there, but now there's a whole world around it. So pull out your favorite car from the toy box and game on.

HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush is available now on EPIC Games Store, Steam, and Consoles. This game is rated E for everyone, but I feel that it will appeal to kids the most. *Switch 2 version does not support cross play.
