FTS: (ININ) Never-Seen-Before 'R-Type Dimensions III' - A Fully-Reimagined Evolution! (PC/XB/NSW/PS5)

I remember playing Super R-Type on the SNES with my cousins back in Arcadia, Florida. We never actually beat the game — not even close — but that didn’t matter. Super R-Type was one of those “bad ass” experiences we kept coming back to, determined to see just how far we could push ourselves before the game sent us right back to the start of a stage. And if you played it, you know exactly why: unlike the arcade originals, this SNES entry had no mid‑level checkpoints. One mistake and boom — you were restarting the whole level. Brutal, but unforgettable.

What made it even cooler is that Super R-Type wasn’t just a straight port. The SNES never got the original R-Type, but this version took elements of R-Type II, added new stages, and gave the series a fresh identity on Nintendo’s 16‑bit hardware. For us as kids, none of that technical stuff mattered — we just knew it looked awesome, sounded awesome, and kicked our asses in the best way possible.

Fast forward to today, and the R-Type franchise is still going strong. It’s wild to think how long this series has been around, evolving from those punishing SNES afternoons in Arcadia to modern releases that keep the spirit alive. Now ININ Games is stepping up with R-Type Dimensions III, bringing that classic side‑scrolling chaos into a new era. And honestly, the special and collector’s editions they’re putting out are pretty bad ass too.

A Spectacular, Fully-Reimagined Evolution of the Legendary Shoot ’Em Up Franchise

Stuttgart, Germany – ININ Games is proud to officially announce R-Type Dimensions III, a major new milestone in one of gaming’s most iconic shoot ’em up series. Developed in close cooperation with Tozai and Irem, the license owner, and the original creator of R-Type, this new project represents one of the most ambitious and significant undertakings in ININ’s history. The game is set to be released on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC (Steam).

Building on the legacy of R-Type Dimensions and R-Type Dimensions EX, Dimensions III has been completely re-envisioned with cutting-edge visuals and sounds and expanded gameplay modes to deliver the most definitive modern edition of R-Type’s classic era.

A Landmark Project for ININ Games

As one of ININ’s most extensive projects to date, R-Type Dimensions III emphasizes precision craftsmanship, technical ambition, and deep respect for one of gaming’s most influential arcade properties.

A Complete Modern Rebuild of the Arcade Legend

R-Type Dimensions III brings the intensity, precision, and creative enemy design of the arcade originals to a new generation. Every stage, boss, and projectile pattern has been rebuilt with high-end 3D graphics, enhanced animations, and richly detailed environments, whilst preserving the instantly recognizable atmosphere that defined R-Type’s identity.

The same applies to the original music and sound effects. With an enormous effort, everything has been rebuilt so that Players can switch seamlessly between the original and the new R-Type III at any time, offering both nostalgic authenticity and a striking modern reinterpretation.

“R-Type is a cornerstone of video game history, and working with Tozai to reimagine these classics at this scale has been an extraordinary honor,” said Felix Wagner, Publishing Producer at ININ Games. “Dimensions III is our most ambitious restoration and modernization project yet, created for long-time fans and newcomers discovering R-Type for the first time.”

Key features include:
  • A fully remastered experience with completely reconstructed assets
  • Local co-op, enhanced with new scoring and survival mechanics
  • Advanced mode is accessible from the start

GTM 5: Grand Theft Modded 5

For over a decade, Grand Theft Auto V has been the sandbox playground of choice for millions of players. But with GTA 6 STILL on the horizon, modders have stepped in to keep the chaos alive. PC Gamer recently spotlighted one creator who isn’t just tweaking textures or adding cars—he’s building entire new worlds inside GTA 5, effectively turning Los Santos into a multiverse.

The Rise of the GTA Multiverse

According to PC Gamer, this modder is quietly stitching together new maps, highways, and towns that expand the game far beyond its original boundaries. Instead of waiting for Rockstar’s next big release, players can dive into these fan-made expansions that feel like alternate realities layered onto Los Santos.

Featured Mods Expanding Los Santos

Mod Name Description Unique Flavor
Oldburries  A rural expansion that introduces wide roads, farmland, towering powerlines, and the small town of Oldburry. Inspired by Canadian landscapes, it feels like a hidden corner of South Yankton lore. Perfect for countryside roleplay and immersive exploration.
Largo Hillio  A hillside region that adds vertical terrain and scenic routes, offering players new vantage points and challenges. Great for off-road driving and hillside adventures.
European   Freeway  A sprawling highway system modeled after European road networks, stretching Los Santos into a long-haul driving experience. Ideal for high-speed chases, road trips, and endless cruising.

Together, these mods don’t just add content—they reshape the geography of GTA 5, making Los Santos feel like the hub of a much larger world.

Why It Matters

Scale: These mods dramatically expand the playable area, offering new biomes and towns.

Weirdness: From Canadian-inspired farmland to European-style highways, the mash-up creates surreal juxtapositions.

Replayability: Players tired of the same old Los Santos can now roleplay in rural towns, race across highways, or explore new hillsides.

The Bigger Picture

PC Gamer frames this as more than just modding—it’s world-building. By layering new maps onto GTA 5, the modder is essentially crafting a “Grand Theft Auto Multiverse.” It’s a clever workaround for the GTA 6 delay, giving fans fresh playgrounds without waiting for Rockstar’s official sequel. November Game Drops: What’s Worth Your Time + What’s Worth Calling Out

November 2025 closed out the fall gaming season with a bang. From an annual blockbuster to bold Switch 2 exclusives and inventive indies, this month served up variety. But not every release deserves your time—or your money. So what’s worth playing, what’s worth waiting on, and what’s worth calling out? Let's get into some November game drops!

 Shooter Season

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (November 15)

Platforms: PS5, PS4, XSX, XB1, PC

The annual titan returned with a Cold War espionage twist, blending traditional multiplayer with a revamped campaign that leans into spy thriller vibes.

Worth Your Time? Yes, if you’re invested in CoD’s ecosystem.

Callout: Monetization fatigue continues—battle passes and skins feel relentless.

•  If you want an alternative, you have Battlefield 6 for $20 less. (I'm just saying.) BF6 isn't out of the weeds with the Battlefield coins, but you don't have to spend what you don't have or don't wish to spend. More importantly, you don't have to spend what you can't afford to spend.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (PS5 Port) (November 20)

Platforms: PS5, Epic, Steam

After years of PC exclusivity, the atmospheric survival shooter finally hit PlayStation 5. The Zone remains haunting, immersive, and punishing.

Worth Your Time? Absolutely, if you missed it on PC.

Callout: Performance issues linger on console, especially in crowded firefights.

 Fantasy & Adventure

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (November 8, Switch 2 Exclusive)

A prequel spin-off to Tears of the Kingdom, this musou-style action game lets players relive the fall of Hyrule with massive battles and lore-heavy cutscenes.

Worth Your Time? Yes, for Zelda fans craving more story.

Callout: Repetitive combat may wear thin for non-musou players.

Kirby Air Riders (November 22, Switch 2 Exclusive)

Nintendo revived the cult-classic Kirby racer with modern polish and online play. It’s colorful, chaotic, and surprisingly competitive.

Worth Your Time? Yes—especially for party play.

Callout: Online matchmaking still feels clunky.

Samus finally returned in a long-awaited sequel that blends exploration, atmospheric storytelling, and modernized combat.

Worth Your Time? 100%. This is a system-seller.

Callout: Some fans wanted more innovation beyond polished nostalgia.

 RPGs & Strategy

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition (November 12)

Platforms: Xbox, Windows, Steam, Epic

Bethesda’s wasteland classic got a facelift with enhanced visuals, mod support, and quality-of-life tweaks.

Worth Your Time? Yes, if you missed it or want a smoother replay.

Callout: Core gameplay loop remains unchanged—don’t expect a reinvention.

Demonschool (November 5)

Platforms: Steam, NS1

This indie RPG blends tactical combat with Persona-style social sim mechanics, set in a demon-infested academy.

Worth Your Time? Yes, for fans of quirky indies and tactical depth.

Callout: Visual style may not appeal to everyone.

What’s Worth Your Time (If You Crave Variety)

Short on hours but want a balanced library? These picks deliver across genres:

Metroid Prime 4 – for exploration and sci-fi adventure

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 – for competitive multiplayer thrills

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment – for lore-heavy action

Demonschool – for indie tactical RPG flavor

Whether you want to shoot, strategize, explore, or race with friends, don't sleep on November 2025!
