FTS: "Train Sim World 6" Out Now on PC, PlayStation & Xbox

Expect the Unexpected: Train Sim World 6 Launches Today with New Trains, Random Events & the Return of the Free-to-Play Starter Pack

KENT, England - Sept. 30, 2025  Expect the unexpected in Train Sim World 6, out now! This latest edition of the ultimate train simulation series launches today on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation and Xbox systems, featuring a roster of new trains on three new routes, plus unpredictable new features to keep new and long-time players on their toes!

One of the community's most requested features, toggleable Random Events and Train Faults have been introduced for the first time in Train Sim World 6, ensuring no two services ever feel the same. Players will need to stay alert to overcome unpredictable challenges, ranging from wiper and headlight failures, to diesel engine stalls and signal delays. The game will guide players through resolving these unexpected events to get back under way and on to their destinations.

New content continues in the form of new routes and trains. NJ TRANSIT®’s Morristown Line introduces the New Jersey suburbs in both ageing and modern traction. UK conductors will experience the thrill of coastal running along the Riviera Line, often described as one of the most beautiful stretches of railway in Britain. And in Europe, players can drive beyond the horizon between Dresden and Leipzig, Europe’s largest railway station, with a full variety of freight, passenger, high-speed and shunting services available.

For the first time, brand-new trains will be available in the Deluxe Edition of Train Sim World 6 for all three routes: the much-requested CrossCountry Voyager, dual-power ALP-45 locomotive and hefty BR 294 shunter. The Special Edition includes all content from the Standard and Deluxe Editions, plus five back-catalogue routes and their respective trains spanning a wider selection of countries, including Austria, the Netherlands and Wales.

Adding to the immersion is the full implementation of passenger and platform announcements, with station stops and train departures audibly declared in the three core routes. Dynamic passenger ambience has also been added, which varies based on the number of passengers on the train.

Matt Peddlesden, Train Sim World 6’s Executive Producer: “We can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on the new content in Train Sim World 6. Random Events and Train Faults are going to really spice things up for both new and existing players, and the return of the Free Starter Pack means more people than ever can experience the joy of train simulation.”

Also available today is the Train Sim World: Free Starter Pack. This includes steam, diesel and electric locomotives within the Training Center demo route, along with tutorials and tasks to complete. This can be downloaded for free until November 11, 2025, to keep permanently. It does not contain the three core routes or new features.

Players of paid and free versions of the game can look forward to new add-on content in the coming months with several Train Sim World 6 add-ons announced, covering routes in new countries such as Portugal and Czechia, plus the eagerly awaited arrival of the first Japanese routethe Tadami Line.

Free Game 411: Afterimage – A Hand-Painted Metroidvania Adventure That Hits The Spot

This beautifully brutal game is for the Anime + Metroidvania fans in the room! Afterimage is stepping into the spotlight, and if you haven’t played it yet… you’re in for an adventure.

The game drops you into Engardin, a world that’s equal parts breathtaking and dangerous. You play as Renee, exploring ruins, uncovering mysteries, and going toe-to-toe with an army of bosses that’ll test every ounce of your skill. Speaking of skill, the game’s progression system lets you build your character through a sprawling skill tree — so whether you prefer slashing with swords, whipping enemies into shape, or burning them down with magic, you’ve got options... on options.

But enough talking for now, let’s jump into the gameplay... shall we?

Here’s where Afterimage really shines: the hand-drawn artwork is jaw-dropping... and I love it when the artists get to shine. There are areas that look like paintings hanging in an art gallery. And the replay value? Through the roof... and I'm currently working on getting my skills up so that I can reach areas I've had to leave behind. With branching paths, hidden secrets, and multiple endings, you’ll keep coming back for more runs just to see what you missed.

Now here’s the kicker — Afterimage has held its value strong since it's 2023 release, still running upwards of $50 on console. So being able to score this beauty for free on PC for a limited time is one of those moments where hesitation is your enemy. Grab it while you can and thank me later.
