Rider's Spirits is available now + Gameplay First Impression!

Are you a fan of that classic Mario Kart action? Well, Rider’s Spirits might be up your alley. It's challenging as seen in the gameplay below as you race to the finish for the sake of tracking down plenty of achievements. So put your pixel pedal to the metal on Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series S|X, or the Nintendo Switch as seen here in my first impression:

Disney Speedstorm... a true Mario Kart alternative?

Disney Speedstorm offers a compelling alternative to Mario Kart, boasting an unforgettable cast of characters that resonate with avid gamers, Disney fans, and casual enthusiasts. Not only are the tracks visually captivating as is the music, but the gameplay itself is truly remarkable. The fluid AAA quality movements take the exhilarating racing experience to a tournament-worthy level, enhanced by the strategic utilization of item pick-ups to outmaneuver opponents and secure a top spot on the podium.

What sets Disney Speedstorm apart is its accessibility and inclusivity. The game is not only free-to-play, but it also supports cross-platform play, allowing players to compete against others regardless of their gaming platform, be it PC, Nintendo, Xbox, or Playstation. In essence, Disney Speedstorm possesses its own unique identity and does not need to rely on the shadow of Mario Kart to shine. Access is the key to victory, as long as it receives the necessary backing and support from gamers.

Gameloft Barcelona, the developer behind this cross-platform arcade combat racing game, launched Disney Speedstorm as a free-to-play title across multiple platforms just in time for a new season. The highly anticipated Season 4 update, inspired by the beloved Disney film Aladdin, introduces an array of new Racers, tracks, crew members, and more, further enriching the immersive experience.

The transition to a free-to-play model has made the game more accessible to players worldwide, and I believe this was a great strategy to make the game available to all. Victory in the game relies on mastering each character's unique skills. The roster of Racers is expanding, including popular characters such as Sulley, Mulan, Mickey Mouse, Belle, Stitch, Buzz Lightyear, and Captain Jack Sparrow. Each Racer has upgradeable skills and abilities that can greatly influence the outcome of races, according to Gameloft Barcelona.

Players have the option to race through thrilling tracks on their own or challenge friends in multiplayer modes, whether they are playing locally or remotely. According to the developer, the game will continuously grow with the addition of new Disney and Pixar Racers and racetracks, providing players with fresh opportunities to showcase their racing skills and dominate the competition.

New additions include Abu, Magic Carpet, Rajah, Iago, the Sultan, and many others. Additionally, the developers have two surprise racers yet to be revealed.

Best Nintendo Switch Games For Family Fun: Mario Kart 8 Ultimate

Gaming as a family is a great way to bond and spend quality time together. It also gives parents a chance to enjoy game time with their children and make memories that will last a lifetime. Gaming can be a great way to teach kids about teamwork, problem-solving, and competition in a healthy and fun way. And let's not forget, it's also a great way to relieve some stress and have a little fun. So, next time you're looking for a fun way to spend some quality family time, break out the controllers and give family gaming a try with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - This game easily tops the list because of the competitive fun it delivers... on a long-term basis via kart racing fun. You can play with up to 4-players locally from the same system, and 8 players total via online play. A plus about this game is that it doesn't have a steep learning curve for new kart racers and younger kids. Smart Steering is a feature in this game that allows you to drive and stay on the track a lot easier, so you aren't just hanging up the Joycon.

This game delivers tons of replay value, it doesn't just end at riding on a track with your selected character, it's all about the competition (baby)... so choose one of the many characters (i.e. Baby Mario) and jump into dozens upon dozens of tracks to fun it up with the family (in a variety of modes).

This tops the list because it's great for teaching teamwork, and learning good sportsmanship in terms of when the kids win and... especially when they lose. Not for nothing, but when they lose it will help them in the long run, because... you help them get into the habit of picking themselves up and trying again versus giving up.

Encouragement to try-try again should be enough to get them back into the kart for fun compared to a participation trophy, because you win some... you lose some. Healthy competition is all fun but the plus is that it unconsciously helps in other areas of life.

Sure you get the online play that allows you to fill in the blanks where other racers are concerned if you don't want to play against the AI, sure it adds to the replay value because it makes the competition virtually endless, but... make family fun the ultimate goal. Game on!

This game is rated... E for Everyone.

Are you too old to play video games? No! + A list of the most stressful games!

Why do grown-ups play video games? For some, it's a form of escapism from the pressures of work and everyday life. For others, it's simply a fun way to spend some time with friends. But for all adults who game, it's a chance to relieve stress, unwind, and just have a good time.

There's nothing wrong with that! In fact, gaming can be beneficial for both mental and physical health (i.e. games like Just Dance, and Nintendo Switch Sports). According to my research, gaming can help improve hand-eye coordination, memory, and problem-solving skills. So next time you're feeling bogged down by adulthood, pick up a controller and dive into a fun-filled world of gaming.

I know that some of you may beg to differ about games being a total stress reliever, and you would be partially right. Here is a list of the most stressful games played during a 30-minute period, according to information presented by NDC Media's Sanna L.

The full list of games played for a maximum of 30 minutes were:

Mario Kart Tour... Mini Review!

Mario Kart is such a fun game! I love the vibrant colors and the animation of the characters. It can be super fun to race against your friends and earn as many cups as possible. The best thing about this game is that it’s a small download and it’s FREE-to-Play!

There are currently 33 characters in the game, they open a new cup after you finish all the races in the previous cup.

The game's replay value is also high, and the music is really fun and cute. I also think it's great that the game has a simple one-finger control for racing so that it's not too hard to race. This really makes it fun for everyone!

Mario Kart is available now on Google Play and the App Store. See you on the track!

Fun factor: 5 out of 5
Replay value: 4 out of 5
Playability: 5 out of 5
DLC price: 5 out of 5

I give it 4.75 out of 5 Cool Points!

Nintendo Games Now Available!

As some of you may know... we've been partners with Humble Bundle for some time now, and we've had games on top of games for PC owners. Even Playstation and Indie Nintendo devs have gotten love, but now... official Nintendo games are now available. Another Nintendo-Demand has been met!

Brought to you by...

Nintendo Switch?! Yep... that's the name! Check it out!

Many gamers have known that it was going to be a portable console that would also double as a home console... but what got my attention was the ability to enjoy multiplayer action with half of the connectable Joy-Con controller for multiplayer action.

I don't know exactly how comfy that will be, but it looks interesting. I'm still not completely sure if there would be online action available when you're on the go... but I really hope so. The 3DS can connect to the internet and it would just be a step backward if we can't.

The ability to connect multiple controls may sell someone that has multiple family/friends around to get in on the action... but for those of us that don't want to crowd around the small screen (at least not that often), it's important to have an online ready option when portable.

At home it's a bit more of a... duh... but yeah, I hope they don't sleep on the obvious because it will open one of the biggest doors that can take this system to the next level (besides great games). I really do hope that bigger 3rd party developers stick with it. I don't give a damn about trying to roll with a fad, some games will have that option... like if Lara Croft & The Temple of Osiris were on the system (but no to the no to the hell no when it comes to flood of fad games). I want to appreciate the system in various ways and I hope that it's successful in it's own way because it will be that portable option that not only gives us a way to play potentially awesome 3rd party games on the go... we will have Nintendo's line up. I'm excited to see where this goes, and I expect to see a list of games soon among other info like the price because March is around the corner. We will see what Nintendo has to say, but I think it would be an extremely horrible (i'm talking horrible) idea to wait until 2017 to show more. I expect a Nintendo Direct to lay things out before next year so that people can prepare to $ave.

I don't need to see pre-existing games in a launch showcase. I want to see the new of the new.
The rest (if pre-existing) can be listed at the end as "Also available" or something.

I think Nintendo took what was going to be multi-Wii U gamepad capability and just rolled that concept into new tech that didn't require them to go back and figure it out with something that would've been a struggle to pull off. I believe that the connectivity between N-Switch devices in portable mode is one of the smartest moves when someone wants to play multiplayer games on the go... like (hmmm) Monster Hunter or even (a new) Xenoblade game, but I can't sleep on Mario Kart or Splatoon either. The question that comes up with that is... "Nintendo, how long is the battery life?". Running to an outlet in an hours time... would suck (like super seriously!).

(I have another ponder) You know how the N-Switch base station? The thing that makes it go... home console? Yeah. Anyway, if that is some sort of device that enhances the graphics while on the big screen... I could see that being upgradable down the road. The portable part of it can remain the same, if they are able to work it out that way... which can prolong the system technically by upgrading a portion of it, versus the full console like the PS4 & Xbox One. The console will be here in the blink of an eye. Wait a minute, I just blinked. NVM! :p
