Microsoft tried to do what?!

Microsoft is already shaking things up in the area of acquisitions, but damn, did Microsoft really try to get Xbox Game Pass on Playstation?! Based on the tweet from Tom Warren, it appears so. Haha Aww man, you have to have a real set on you to even attempt to put your game platform on another company's platform.

Tom didn't just stop there. He's basically saying is Sony focused on maximizing its profits by minimizing the newly released game options on, Playstation Plus. The gloves are coming off, but it might be a good thing for Playstation fans. Let's say this is true, Sony might increase the options you have to play just to avoid slack from fans.

"I think he's calling this out for Xbox's benefit, not Playstation fans. As long as the fans win... it's fine, but I think Tom mentioned this to point out what Sony might be doing to turn fans off and potentially turn (at least some of) them in the direction of Xbox. PC fans are the biggest winners if you think about it." - Blu

PlayStation PC Games incoming!

Sony is changing its business strategy for PlayStation by focusing on releasing quality first-party narrative games and improving its PlayStation Now service.

However, PS Now on PC had some drawbacks, including the use of a PS4 controller and inferior streaming quality.

Sony is planning to develop more "live service" games to supplement their first-party narrative games. Sony plans to release 10 new games for their live service by Spring 2026, with the majority of them being PC games.

Sony expects to make $415 million in PC game sales in the next 3 years. This would have been possible if the games were exclusive to PlayStation consoles.

Take note that games that are best categorized as "catalog" bring in nearly half a billion dollars in revenue. Sony plans to release Spider-Man (a Sept. 2018 game) and Spider-Man Miles Morales (Nov. 2020) on PC to generate $300 million in revenue.

With a prebuilt audience and the ability to tap into an already established market, Sony will be able to increase revenue by expanding its focus on PC.

More gamers are starting to wonder if exclusive day one PlayStation games will eventually make their way over to the PC, eliminating console exclusivity and shifting gaming culture as we know it. It's no secret that Sony keeps its hands both in PC and console gaming. It needs to keep up with the competition, but at least one thing is for sure – if the revenue grows, so will the profit.

Their strategy so far has been to release catalog first-party games on PC, finding new and secondary markets without alienating day one buyers who would have bought the game console version.

The only thing holding PC gamers back is that it's up to Sony whether or not they make any first-party games available for PC. Sony announced in their last investor presentation that one-third of their first-party titles will be available on PC by 2025. Now, the million-dollar question that most gamers have is which ones?

If you want PlayStation Plus on PC, get it now (you will need Win 8 or Win 10).
You will need PlayStation Plus Premium for cloud streaming.

NEW ‘LEGACY OPENING CINEMATIC’

BETA OPEN TO PLAYSTATION PLUS MEMBERS ON MARCH 4
Io-Interactive today releases a new trailer, the ‘Legacy Opening Cinematic’ bridges the twenty year gap in the new HITMAN game between the end of the Prologue and the Sanguine Fashion Show in Paris.

The trailer takes viewers all the way back to the thermal baths of the Hotel Gallard in Budapest as seen in the original Codename: 47 and to the Chilean Delgado vineyard from Blood Money, as it charts a journey through some iconic Hitman moments.

Plus, after a successful beta on PS4, Io-Interactive now invites all PlayStation Plus members to try out the HITMAN beta on March 4.

“Our initial beta was an extremely helpful moment for our new HITMAN game, as it gave us great insight into how the server game mechanics function under pressure. A lot of those pressure points are currently being strengthened for release,” said Hannes Seifert, Studio Head at Io-Interactive. “Now Sony have given us the opportunity to go even bigger to validate some of the initial things we saw. Therefore we are inviting everyone who is a PlayStation Plus member to try the same beta and you don’t have to pre-order the game. This will allow us to really stress test our server setup, which is a crucial element for us to get just right.”

Labeled “The Prologue”, the Beta takes place twenty years before the Paris Showstopper mission. Set in a secret ICA training facility, the Prologue features a pivotal moment in Agent 47’s life - his introduction to the ICA and very first meeting with his future handler Diana Burnwood. The Prologue features two free-form training hits, which will introduce players to the features and mechanics of the upcoming HITMAN game. The Prologue will also be available as part of the first episode of HITMAN.

HITMAN will launch on March 11th for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC.
