Big Helmet Heroes: The Cartoon Hack & Slash Game... that may become a Family Favorite!

Looking for a fast-paced action game with the ability to deliver big laughs, bold battles, and doesn’t break the bank? Big Helmet Heroes might be a great addition to your collection... and the best part? It’s fun for all ages! This feels like a first party PlayStation exclusive to me, check it out:

This colorful hack-and-slash game blends hilarious cartoon visualscustomizable armor, and satisfying combat into a package that’s both entertaining and family-friendly. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer able to string combos like an EVO vet... or just want something lightly sprinkled to enjoy with the family, Big Helmet Heroes has enough... oomph for everyone + the sound effects & background music are beautifully blended with the visuals to make this awesome sauce!

Why I think this could become a family favorite, is a feature the game doesn't even have yet! (You heard me right, but...) If the Devs are able to resolve the performance issues with 4-player co-op... Big Helmet Heroes will be perfect for family fun night! It's one of those highly entertaining games that can set a Friday night off right alongside a really good pizza, your favorite drinks + a fun movie! Everything feels like it should be a 4-player co-op too, so... I think it's just a matter of time. You get to choose from 4 distict combat styles with heroes like... The Warrior, Brute, The Rogue, and... The Monk. Their different combat styles are a perfect co-op combo to take on the challenges ahead when 4-player action is finally implemented, plus look at the amount of space + the placement of the player HUD on the screen was evidence enough that you can place three more with ease.

I believe it would add to the longevity of the game's support to add 4-player co-op, and if they serve up DLC adventures (which they may simply turn in the direction of sequels instead)... it would keep the party going. Big Helmet Heroes has the potential to be a franchise in my opinion, that could also serve as a gem of fun for game nights. By the way, I will present this article to the Devs to help fuel their multiplayer motivation.

By the way, if you want the full package... the Exalted Edition is only a few bucks more. Meaning, you get:

Big Helmet Heroes (same version as the basic edition)

+ Big Helmet heroes - Artbook

+ Big Helmet Heroes - Soundtrack

Grab Big Helmet Heroes while its 20% off and you'll get it for $19.99 or $23.99 for the Exalted Edition. So strap on your helm, grab your favorite game controller a + 1... and game on!

Iron Meat: A Nostalgic Ride Down “Contra" Street

If you’re a fan of classic 2D run-and-gun shooters, then “Iron Meat” is a game that will take you on a nostalgic journey down “Contra Street.” While it isn’t trying to be a direct clone of the iconic Contra series, Iron Meat brings back that familiar feeling in its own unique way. With animations reminiscent of a “Heavy Metal” animated film, this game will have you reminiscing about the good old days of arcade gaming (minus the quarters).

Iron Meat is a fast-paced, run-and-gun shooter that immerses players in a world overrun by The Meat—an all-consuming interdimensional biomass. Players will battle against mutated victims and machines, dodge bullet barrages, and crush bosses in nine levels of gore-ific brutality. As Vadim, you must fight back against The Meat and stop the terrors spawned from scientist Yuri Markov’s experiments on the Moon.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Phase Boss Fights: Iron Meat pays homage to classic run-and-gun titles with intense boss fights that have multiple phases. With three difficulty settings, players can test their skills, with higher difficulties offering even more challenging boss battles.
  • Multiplayer Couch Co-Op: Take on The Meat invasion with a friend in 2-player couch co-op mode. Double the firepower, double the carnage, and double the MEAT!
  • Over 30 Unlockable Skins: Customize your character with over 30 unlockable skins. Mix and match parts to create unique combinations, from a shark head on a robot body to a cowboy with demon wings.

Iron Meat isn’t just about nostalgia; the devs are delivering a fresh, 2D experience that makes you want to dive back into the world of classic arcade shooters through a game that the devs want to be bad ass in its own right. Whether you’re gunning down grotesque creatures or dodging environmental hazards, Iron Meat offers an action packed ride from start to finish. Grab another player... because it just makes sense.

If you’re lucky enough to score a physical copy, thumbs up! If not, no worries—it’s available digitally on Switch and PS5 for 10% off until October 10th. Suit up with a friend and… game on!

No... it's not Pokemon, it's Cassette Beasts... and it's available now!

This isn't Pokemon, it's... more like a (hmmm) wham bam thank ya for the inspiration that resulted in this mighty morphin turn-based JRPG with local multiplayer action. So... on those days you don't feel like going full otaku mode, invite a friend over, and... jump into this interesting world of Cassette Beasts!

Cassette Beasts have been compared to Pokemon since the initial announcement, and it's certainly not a bad thing, but... what's even better is that they took their own direction. They don't just have their own monsters for you to capture, you're recording/scanning the monster so that you have the data on it. From there... you're able to switch cassettes and transform into a new beast. The more blank cassettes you get your hands on, the more beasts you can... become.
