Dispatch on Amazon Luna: Why Fans of Invincible and The Boys Shouldn't Miss This Superhero Workplace Comedy

Superheroes have dominated movies, television, and gaming for years, but Dispatch takes a refreshingly different approach to the genre. Now streaming on Amazon... Luna (standard), this mature-rated narrative adventure delivers a unique blend of comedy, drama, action, and workplace chaos that may feel especially familiar to fans of superhero series like Invincible and The Boys. With the on-going drama taking place in the SDGT Studio original... It Goes Down at Air Mart, we're certainly fans of workplace stories, and Dispatch feels like an experience worth swooping into. Before you click play, just know that this game is for mature audiences:

While Dispatch isn't focused on world-ending battles or unstoppable villains, it explores something equally fascinating: what happens behind the scenes when superheroes need... direction, support, and someone to answer the phones.

Welcome to the Hero Dispatch Center

In Dispatch, players step into the shoes of Robert Robertson, better known as Mecha Man, a former superhero whose suit—and career—have seen better days. Forced into a new line of work, Robert becomes a dispatcher responsible for coordinating a team of eccentric heroes throughout the city.

For those of you worried about complicated control schemes, Dispatch removes that concern... while delivering an intriguing story.

Going from hero work to support agent has to be mess with a former hero depending on their approach to life. That's like former athlete's who didn't make it pro, but desperately wanted to. It's not the end, and one route isn't the only route. Exercise those options, if not the pro's... consider semi-pro or working in another position from the sidelines of the organization (like Robertson).

Rather than throwing punches on the front lines, you'll be making difficult decisions, assigning heroes to emergencies, managing personalities, and dealing with the unexpected consequences that come from placing imperfect people in positions of extraordinary responsibility. Be strategic to avoid overdoing it on... one call. You never know how many more issues may pop up. Just because you have three or more slots, doesn't mean it needs three or more heroes. Two could work just fine... with others on standby to keep the rest of the city safe. This is low key a management SIM, because you're learning how to use the attributes of the team as a leader would (these apply in the real world).

It's a clever setup that immediately separates Dispatch from traditional superhero games.

Why Invincible Fans May Feel Right at Home

One of the biggest strengths of Invincible is its willingness to show that heroes are still human. Behind every costume is a person dealing with insecurities, relationships, trauma, and impossible choices.

Dispatch embraces a similar philosophy.

The heroes you'll manage aren't flawless symbols of justice. They're complicated individuals with strengths, weaknesses, personal ambitions, and... emotional baggage. Your interactions with them shape relationships, influence outcomes, and create branching storylines that can dramatically alter how events unfold.

Like Invincible, Dispatch isn't afraid to explore the consequences of heroism. Actions matter, mistakes have repercussions, and the people tasked with saving the world don't always have everything figured out.

The Boys Fans Will Appreciate the Humor

If The Boys taught audiences anything, it's that superhero stories can be far more entertaining when they poke fun at the genre's absurdities.

Dispatch leans heavily into that idea.

The game's writing is packed with sharp humor, awkward workplace interactions, and satirical takes on superhero culture. While it isn't nearly as dark or graphic as The Boys, it shares a similar willingness to examine what happens when larger-than-life personalities collide with everyday bureaucracy.

Imagine trying to manage a team meeting where every employee has superpowers, an oversized ego, or a tendency to create city-wide disasters.

That's the type of energy Dispatch delivers throughout much of its adventure.

 A Cast Built for Storytelling

One reason Dispatch has generated attention is its impressive voice cast. The game features performances from recognizable talent across television, film, and gaming, helping bring its colorful roster of heroes and civilians to life. Any of these faces look familiar? From Breaking Bad, to American Fiction, to Cyberpunk 2077... the cast is stacked.

The result feels more like an interactive animated series than a traditional game. Conversations flow naturally, characters develop over time, and the story places just as much emphasis on relationships as it does on heroics.

For players who enjoy narrative-driven experiences, Dispatch offers plenty of reasons to stay invested from beginning to end.

 Choices Matter

At its core, Dispatch is about decision-making.

Every emergency call presents a challenge. Which hero should respond? Which crisis deserves priority? How do you handle interpersonal conflicts when the people involved can level... buildings, unlike you?

Your choices influence character relationships, story developments, and the overall direction of the narrative. This creates a highly replayable experience where different decisions can lead to entirely different outcomes. It almost feels like that guilty pleasure you'd play after work.

Fans of branching stories and character-driven adventures will likely find plenty to appreciate here.

A Different Kind of Superhero Story

What makes Dispatch stand out isn't its action—it's its perspective.

Most superhero games place players in the role of the hero. Dispatch asks players to manage heroes instead. That simple shift creates opportunities for comedy, tension, and storytelling that many games in the genre rarely explore.

It's a fresh angle that feels especially appealing at a time when audiences are looking for superhero stories that offer something beyond the standard formula. That's why certain superheroes stand out more than others in my opinion... people can relate to them or simply appreciate that their average life is part of the picture.

Now that Dispatch is available on... Amazon Luna, you can jump in now via your TV, laptop, cellphone, tablet, or PC. So put on that freshly ironed SDN company shirt and get ready for work... because sometimes saving the city isn't about throwing the punch—it's about deciding who throws it!

Xbox Games Showcase 2026... Recap!

Well Xbox fans, if your Game Pass backlog wasn't already crying for mercy, the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 dropkicked it off the top rope... and landed on it with a flying elbow.

Microsoft rolled into this year's showcase with a confident lineup featuring returning franchises, long-awaited updates, brand-new worlds, and enough explosions to satisfy even the most dedicated Michael Bay enthusiast. (I haven't actually heard his name in awhile but... I'm making it work.) While some reveals landed harder than others, there was no denying that Xbox delivered in this showcase.

From chainsaw bayonets and fantasy kingdoms to dragons and post-apocalyptic survival, there was a little bit of everything on display. That said, grab a snack and click play:

As we recap on this showcase, several games undoubtedly... dominate the conversation.

Gears of War: E-Day | Xbox | Windows

Xbox knew exactly what it was doing by putting Gears front and center. (I see ya.)

Returning to the beginning of humanity's war against the Locust, E-Day continues to look like the gritty, emotional prequel fans have been waiting for. Seeing Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago together again hit longtime fans right in the nostalgia receptors, but this isn't simply a trip down memory lane.

The visuals look fantastic, the atmosphere feels appropriately desperate, and if The Coalition can deliver the emotional weight they've been teasing, E-Day could become one of the franchise's most memorable entries. If this kicks off a remake of the franchise... would you be mad?

Fable | Xbox | PS5

Every time Playground Games shows Fable, it somehow manages to look even more charming.

The humor remains intact, the fantasy world feels alive, and the visuals continue to impress. More importantly, it appears to understand exactly what made the original games special: Giving players the freedom to be a legendary hero, a complete menace, or something in between.

I can only imagine how many side quests will be on deck.

Halo: Campaign Evolved | XSX | PS5 | Windows

Master Chief is back, and Xbox clearly wants everyone to know Halo still matters.

The showcase provided a fresh look at what appears to be a major evolution for the franchise's campaign experience. While details remain limited, the footage suggested larger environments, expanded player freedom, and a renewed focus on storytelling.

Halo fans have been waiting for a big moment. This could be it, and... just like Gears, if this is the starting point for a remake of the franchise... who would be mad?

 The Surprise Standouts

Not every game entering the showcase had massive expectations. Some earned attention the old-fashioned way. Looking awesome!

Spyro: A Realm Beyond | Xbox | Steam | PS5 | Switch 2

I did not expect Spyro to become one of my favorite reveals of the entire event.

Yet here we are.

The little purple dragon is back, and this new adventure appears significantly larger in scope than previous entries. New worlds, new abilities, and a stunning visual presentation made this one of the biggest crowd-pleasers of the show.

My childhood and my wallet are both concerned.

Clockwork Revolution | Xbox | Steam

If Bioshock and steampunk had a particularly ambitious child, it might look something like Clockwork Revolution.

The latest footage showcased impressive world-building, creative weapons, and a fascinating time-manipulation mechanic that could make player choices more meaningful than ever.

This remains one of Xbox's most intriguing new franchises.

Minecraft Dungeons II | Xbox | Windows | PS5 | Switch 2

The original Minecraft Dungeons was far more fun than many expected... and has family fun gaming written all over it.

The sequel appears ready to expand on everything that worked while introducing new environments, enemies, and customization options.

It's one of those games you might sleep on... until you realize it's easy sink hours upon hours into with your favorite people.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy | Xbox | PS5 | Steam

Another reveal of the showcase came from Asobo Studio with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Rather than simply continuing where the previous games left off, this new entry appears ready to explore a different chapter within the series' dark and mysterious world.

What immediately stood out was the atmosphere. The franchise has always excelled at creating tension, and the reveal trailer looked determined to continue that tradition. The environments were gorgeous, the tone was haunting, and there were just enough unanswered questions to get fans theorizing before the trailer even ended.

If you've enjoyed the storytelling and emotional weight of the previous games, Resonance looks like... another journey worth keeping experiencing.

The showcase had plenty of big announcements, but... they just kept coming. They pulled no punches.

Metro 2039 continues to prove that nobody does post-apocalyptic atmosphere quite like the Metro series. Every glimpse of the game looked tense, dangerous, and exactly the kind of world you never want to live in but absolutely want to explore digitally. Could you imagine that being reality? I remember playing games wonder how I would actually fair in the world, especially... Resident Evil. I would be in a crawl space high up in a ceiling somewhere, hoping nothing finds me. Anyway, you can pre-order Metro 2039 on Xbox, PS5, Epic Games Store, and Steam!

Senua also caught my attention. Ninja Theory has consistently delivered some of the most visually impressive and emotionally powerful experiences in gaming, and every appearance of Senua somehow manages to leave me wanting to see more.

Then there's Crazy Taxi World Tour (wishlisted out the gate)!

Look, as someone who owns a Dreamcast and spent an unhealthy number of hours with the original game, this reveal hit differently. Some of my favorite gaming memories involve competing for high scores, chaining together ridiculous drifts, launching through traffic like a complete maniac, and trying to squeeze every last point out of a run. Seeing Crazy Taxi return immediately transported me back to those days.

Fun Fact: Despite my professional driving experience... I don't drive like a maniac! (I just drive like one in games like... Crazy Taxi!)

The new game looks bigger, faster, and far more ambitious than the arcade classic, but hopefully it keeps the chaotic energy that made the original so addictive. I can't wait to see what new mechanics Sega introduces and whether I'll still be able to pull off those point-racking drifts that kept me glued to my Dreamcast for hours. Isn't Missy Elliott a fan of Crazy Taxi? Join the world tour in 2027 on Xbox, PS5, Steam, and the Switch 2!

Magicians: The Devil's Deal stood out thanks to its dark fantasy setting and intriguing premise. It's still early, but it already feels like one of those games that could quietly become a sleeper hit. You get first person magical combat, exploration, and stage magic that come into play as you master deadly tricks + take on rival magicians in your attempt to escape... Theatreland. Are you in or will you bow out?

Magicians: The Devil's Deal is coming to Xbox, PS5, and Steam.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse was another welcome surprise. It's hard to go wrong with Belmonts, monsters, and gothic castles, and this latest entry appears ready to embrace everything fans love about the franchise. Pre-Order now on Xbox, PS5, and Steam!

Vivarium might have been one of the most eye catching games shown... thanks to the animation. The trailer offered more questions than answers, but sometimes that's exactly what gets people's attention. Wishlist on Xbox, Epic Games Store, and Steam.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 showed with enough action to remind everyone why the franchise continues to dominate conversations year after year. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer, it's hard to ignore the spectacle when Call of Duty shows up crashing through a window with a 360 no scope. Prepare for battle this coming September on Xbox, PS5, Windows, and Steam.

 Hmmm...

Some games walked into the showcase without the same attention as Halo, Gears, or COD: Modern Warfare 4, but they absolutely deserve attention... in some form.

State of Decay 3 | Xbox | PS5 | Steam

Undead Labs continues to build what could be the most ambitious zombie survival experience the series has ever seen... if it actually crosses the finish line. I'll be optimistic and say that it... should.

The new footage emphasized survival, community management, and environmental storytelling. If the studio can successfully combine those elements with smoother gameplay systems, State of Decay 3 could finally become the breakout hit fans have been waiting for.  That said... Microsoft should give State of Decay IP to Undead Labs if they plan to pull the plug, let them take their baby and continue moving forward. IO Interactive is a perfect example, they could've lost Hitman, but they were able to keep their baby... and here we are.

Persona 6 finally made an appearance, although fans hoping for a deep gameplay showcase may have walked away wanting more. The graveyard sequence certainly looked interesting, but... Atlus is still keeping most of its cards close to the chest. Persona fans can look forward to this release on Xbox, PS5, and Steam.

Xbox Games Showcase 2026 felt like a company firing on all cylinders... despite what's going on behind the scenes. When it comes to releases possibly not happening, unannounced games are the ones to be concerned about... more so than those showcased.

The presentation balanced nostalgia with innovation, gave longtime fans reasons to celebrate, and introduced several exciting new experiences that could become major franchises in the years ahead.

If Xbox's goal was to generate excitement for the future, mission accomplished.

The heat is on... but the show must go on! My ideal spot right now is to be in the pool on the shallow end so that I can lean out to play Switch and sip something delicious. No splash zone, please! If that doesn't work, I'll be at Aquatica... AquaGlow (plate in hand + a big smile). As promised... shout out to Allison (Ireland) and Declan (UK), it's always cool to meet supporters. I met someone else, but I was TOTALLY distracted because their little girl wanted a gummy and then... ended up with my whole bag. Shout out to her and her grandmother though, quite the duo. That said, you know where I'm headed after this weeks shout outs! Let's go!
